FYI on La Ville Rouge

Several blog readers have asked about La Ville Rouge, so I thought I would give you a brief update.

She is very much pregnant, is believed to be carrying a colt, and is due Feb. 21. She is in foal to Dynaformer, and not surprisingly, she has a date with Dynaformer later this year.

(photo: La Ville Rouge last August at Mill Ridge Farm)

Also, because so many people are interested in the family, I thought you might like to know that one of La Ville Rouge’s half-sisters is being sold at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky February mixed sale tomorrow, Feb. 9. Named Given Us Hope, the winning mare is a full sister to grade III winner Green Alligator. They are all out of the stakes-winning mare La Reine Rouge.

Now 15, Given Us Hope is in foal to Istan.  She is hip No. 165.

Update: Given Us Hope sold for $3,500 to Kelly James Richard.

What a beautiful face.  Dynaformer's a handsome boy, but I think that's where Barbaro got his good looks! And the intelligent eye that runs in the family!

Jennifer 08 Feb 2009 5:51 PM

Obviously, the Jacksons are more than happy with the results of the Dynaformer/La Ville Rouge breedings. While I don't think another Barbaro will come around anytime soon, my best wishes to them for their faith in this breeding combo. You have to give 'em credit for consistency, as well!

Bon chance!!

needler in Virginia 08 Feb 2009 5:54 PM

Beautiful!!! Thank you very much for the update.

LyndaP31 08 Feb 2009 5:55 PM

Thank you so much for taking the time to publish an update on La Ville Rouge.  She is so very beautiful and I'm anxiously awaiting the birth of the newest addition to the Barbaro family.  I'm also excited to hear about her future date with Dynaformer - they sure do produce exceptional babies in body and mind ... each one unique and special in their own way.

heart4dixie 08 Feb 2009 6:10 PM

Gosh Barbaro sure looked like his Mother~!!!!

Glad to hear she is fine and waiting for the new arrival!!!

Linda 08 Feb 2009 6:16 PM

Thank you Amanda for the photo and the info on LVR. In two weeks more or less the Barbaro boys will have a baby brother. Good Luck on the delivery La Ville Rouge.

Kathy 08 Feb 2009 6:24 PM

Thats so cool. Hope the birth goes well. I really hope sometime she will produce a full sister to Barbaro, Nicanor, Lentenor and the new foal.

Alex 08 Feb 2009 6:26 PM

gah! she's so gorgeous!!! i just want all of her babies to be healthy and happy :)

tati 08 Feb 2009 6:31 PM

Thanks for the new news on La Ville Rouge, Amanda.  It is great to know when she will have Barbaro's new brother which I know everybody is looking forward to (I know I am).  I will be waiting eagerly for the new family member and hope that it ia a big and healthy colt.  Hope the best for La Ville Rouge.  Oh Amanda do you know how much it might take Nicanor for him to heal his injury?

Laura 08 Feb 2009 6:33 PM

I look forward to the arrival of the new brother!  Thank you for keeping us informed on Barbaro's family and his connections.

Cassidy 08 Feb 2009 6:49 PM

La Ville Rouge is very beautiful - the photo shown here is the first i have seen of her as I am a relative newcomer to this and any Blogsites!  But not to horse racing. Been a fan since i was 4 years old; the same time that i started riding at the local riding school!

Thanks for this article and the wonderful photo!  Hope all goes well come 21 February or around that time!

Given us Hope is a very apt name due to the fact La Ville Rouge sons have done just that!!!! Especially Barbaro!  His courage and his legacy is one of hope and I pray a cure for laminitis, due to the new research done, may be one of the things that happens as a result of this brave colt's battle for life which won America's heart!

Equally i pray Given us Hope gets a really good home where she will be happy and well cared for. Any chance of letting us know how she gets on today please?

Many thanks

God Bless

Best wishes

Abbie

Abbie Knowles 08 Feb 2009 6:53 PM

Thank you so much for letting us know about La Ville Rouge and the future brother.  I hope all goes well with the delivery.  She is a beautiful mare, as are all her foals!!

Holly 08 Feb 2009 6:55 PM

Thanks for the update. She is really a very pretty lady. Good luck LVR

Kath from SC 08 Feb 2009 7:07 PM

Another colt, that's amazing, I wonder how long it will take gretchen to name this one? I hope the delivery goes well anyway, as well as her next date with Dynaformer. It looks like Barbaro and his siblings all get their looks from their mom, none of them are really as dark as Dynaformer and they all have a heart shaped spot on their foreheads.

horsecrazi717 08 Feb 2009 7:11 PM

You neglected to say whose foal she is carrying. Another Dynaformer baby?

Jamie 08 Feb 2009 7:25 PM

La Ville Rouge is a real beauty.

Luvthehorses 08 Feb 2009 7:34 PM

La Ville Rouge is a lovely mare with a gentle look about her. Thanks for posting this update about her. Here's hoping all goes well when she foals. I'm also hoping if she gets pregnant again when bred back to Dynaformer that the new baby will be a filly.

For Big Red 08 Feb 2009 7:43 PM

It is not a wonder her kids are so handsome.  Barbaro had her chin....

What a beautiful mare!

Ro 08 Feb 2009 8:04 PM

Thank you for the update I was wondering when she was due. Here's to an easy delivery and good health for both mom and colt(right?).She is a beautiful horse.

Tracy 08 Feb 2009 8:11 PM

It will be interesting to see how much Given Us Hope sells for, I wish her Godspeed in her racing career.God bless La Ville Rouge with her foaling, may he be as strong as his brothers!

Maybe this next time with Dynaformer, they'll produce a little filly that will run like the wind! :)

horsenut23 08 Feb 2009 8:11 PM

This mare has had 6 foals in 7 years, and is due any day with her seventh. If she's lucky, there will be no complications.  Does no one see anything wrong with this practice?  She's going to be bred back AGAIN, should she survive.    It's all about money.  The mare's welfare is of no concern to her connections. This kind of thing is what gives TB breeding and racing a bad name.

tbpartnerperson43 08 Feb 2009 8:11 PM

Well we know where Barbaro and Nicanor get their good looks from.

Let's pray for a safe delivery and a healthy foal.

MJ 08 Feb 2009 8:12 PM

awsome!

ok 08 Feb 2009 8:52 PM

She is so pretty... all her offspring look a lot like her. Curiously, I looked up a complete list of her offspring and noticed they are all boys. I hope the next one is a little filly!!

StreetCry+Vertigineux=ZENYATTA!!!!! 08 Feb 2009 8:52 PM

Such a pretty girl.  Can see Barbaro in her face.  Her sons get their beauty and sweet dispositions from their Mum.  Their size and athleticism must come from Pop.

Marigold 08 Feb 2009 9:09 PM

Jamie - Yes, she is in foal to Dynaformer, which has been reported on this blog more than once. However, I am sorry I left that out and have updated accordingly.

aduckworth 08 Feb 2009 9:17 PM

It would be nice to see a photo of Dynaformer when he was a child horse just to see if he was a sweet looking horse like Nicanor. I kind of doubt it. Although I like Dynaformer, he does have his "Sybil" moments.

Good luck La Ville Rouge, it is nice to know that you are there to sweeten Dynaformer's DNA.

Kathy 08 Feb 2009 9:42 PM

I have a rather alarming question that I would like to post, and all of you that love horses should absolutely research this...Could someone please tell me how many horses that the Jacksons have bred have been seriously injured in racing? How many have had to be retired or put to sleep because of it. Next, how many horses have broken down in training or on the track that Mr. Matz has trained and rode throughout his entire career. Yes this includes his jumping career too. I would like people to seriously research this and honestly let me know without bs. Oh and thats racing or business is not even an option of response. If you say that then you need psychological help because you have no conscience.

? 08 Feb 2009 9:46 PM

Ps. All horses listed. Not just graded or black type. All. Every last one.

? 08 Feb 2009 9:49 PM

Excuse my "duh" moment from my earlier post. I meant for Given Us Hope to have a safe foaling also. I was distracted with thinking of the Green Alligator racing, and confused myself in the process!

If that is the only goofy thing I do today, I'm doing good!:-)

La Ville Rouge is very beautiful, her sons get their gentle eye from her.

horsenut23 08 Feb 2009 10:37 PM

Dynaformer some more, eh? Are they planning on trying any other stallions? It might be interesting to see what she'd do with another stallion.

Jei 08 Feb 2009 11:18 PM

She does put her stamp on her babies, doesn't she! A lovely mare, and it looks like she's pretty much "married" to Dynaformer.

Mara 08 Feb 2009 11:41 PM

If Given Us Hope is 15, does any one know how old La Ville Rouge might be? Also she did not give birth in 2008 but I agree, she needs some time off. Lets keep her safe and sound. At first I thought I was looking at Barbaro.  She has those sweet soft eyes. Best of luck to her and the new colt. Wonder which hound name Mrs Jackson will chose for him. Also, has anyone found any new news about how Nicanor is doing? I saw the one that said he was doing fine but that was just after the race. Thanks aduckworth for all your input.

Lou 09 Feb 2009 12:56 AM

tbpartnerperson43 - Her welfare is of huge concern. If they didn't take good care of her she would have no chance of healthy, strong offspring. Not to mention she looks great in that photo. What a beautiful mare. Also you can't pin it only to the racing idustry. It isn't uncommon in the other horse related events as well.

Heres to hoping for a successful, healthy colt and to a filly come next year.

Elit3e 09 Feb 2009 1:25 AM

I remember that folks kept breeding Lady Angela to Nearco and not getting anything -- until Nearctic. Then Nearctic sired Northern Dancer!!!!

Let's hope lightening strikes once more with Dynaformer/La Ville Rouge. If not, perhaps one of their offspring.

Dynaformer comes from the Turn-To line as do Danzig and Theatrical. Halo came from there too. Maybe there are some clues??

It looks like to me Dynaformer has produced more great filly runners than colts. Come on La Ville Rouge!! They include millionaires: Starrer, Sand Springs, and Critical Eye; as well as multi-millionaires Riskaverse and Film Maker.

Unfortunately many of his top colts were gelded -- dah!!! All the more tragic for the breed with the loss of Barbaro!!!!

Jim P 09 Feb 2009 1:26 AM

I'm no pedigree expert, just a gloified dabbler, but a couple of other thoughts for La Ville Rouge matings:

Devil His Due hasn't produced a lot of big horses but has a lot of horses in the money. He's by Halo, so we've got the Hail To Reason line working again. He did sire Roses In May who at one time was the #1 ranked horse in the world until he was injured.

Roses In May might himself be a possibility though he is in Japan. Japan can't get enough Halo over there after Sunday Silence.

Sunday Silence's Hat Trick, a champion miler in Japan, is over here in the States. We breed a lot of miler stallions to stayer mares. Trouble is, La Ville Rouge is a Carson City mare and he was not a stayer. On her mom's side though she has lot of stamina.

Blushing Groom is on the male side though and he's produced some great classic horses. Look him up on www.pedigreequery.com Click on the "i" button for information.

Jim P 09 Feb 2009 1:56 AM

we are all excited to be god parents again! may god bless both mom and babynor with good health. lots of love to both!

sandieh 09 Feb 2009 6:42 AM

Why do they keep breeding her to Dynaformer? Seems a bit odd at this point to keep reproducing and ill-fated mating.

Blue Blue Sea 09 Feb 2009 7:06 AM

jei-la ville rouge does have a colts with other stallions, holy ground and man in havana, holy ground was retired to stud, man in havana is a gelding.

lou-la ville rouge was foaled on april 8, 1996

sandieh 09 Feb 2009 8:58 AM

"?" Why don't you do the research & then let us know, without any BS?

da3hoss 09 Feb 2009 9:02 AM

February 21?  How cool is that!  Seems to me the last horse to win the Triple Crown was born on February 21...  Could this mean great things are in store?  I sure hope so.

La Ville Rouge has a kind eye and a very sweet expression.  It looks like that's where Barbaro got the heart he showed on and off the track.  He never stopped trying and that tenacity (heart) is what makes a horse special:)

pharlap 09 Feb 2009 9:45 AM

La Ville sure is an elegant looking lady. I sure can see where the boys get their good looks from. It's a good thing they get their good natured dispositions from her and not Dynaformer who is rather ill tempered. If the Jacksons follow in order with the names of the fox hounds in their picture I beleive the next one's name is Margano and may possibly be the name of the new baby. I also think maybe they sould give her some time off breeding. Then maybe try a different stallion to mix things up a bit.

DONNA 09 Feb 2009 9:54 AM

For everyone thinking she needs a year off, please remember that LVR did not have a foal in 2008, so she did get a break recently.

aduckworth 09 Feb 2009 9:59 AM

Gosh, it's amazing how a simple blog post about a beautiful mare can draw the looney tunes out of the woodwork!  Bless your heart for reading and responding to them, Amanda!

Jennie 09 Feb 2009 10:15 AM

da3hoss, thank you for finding the words that i couldn't to answer that question.

sandieh 09 Feb 2009 10:22 AM

My heart almost stopped, I thought it was Barbaro for a moment. Mom is beautiful and she passes her looks on to those boys..

At what age does Dynaformer quit being mated? He is getting older for a horse now, but He sure is stunning to look at.

love Rags 2 Riches also she is due this month sometimes...that beautiful, stubborn chestnut filly. I wish her and Curlin could be mated...

Ragsy 09 Feb 2009 10:27 AM

To those who question the practice of breeding mares every year.....what do you think would happen if they were in the wild? These horses receive excellent care from professional staff. I have had the pleasure of visiting many breeding farms, and have always been impressed at the cleanliness and professionalism. As for mating LVR to Dynaformer again, I think the hope is that eventually they will get a filly. And "ill fated mating"? By whose opinion? Barbaro was one of the finest race horses I've ever seen. His breakdown was an accident. To insinuate that the Jacksons or Micheal Matz do not care about these animals is ludicrous and ignorant.

Kbuckeye 09 Feb 2009 10:39 AM

Ragsy -- Usually, a stallion tells a farm when he is ready to quit breeding mares. Either he physically can't do it anymore, or his fertility starts to decline. So, there is no set age. It just depends on the stallion.

aduckworth 09 Feb 2009 10:41 AM

ragsy, if that mating ever took place (gosh, how exciting) we should name the foal "megahorsey" both are beautiful and strong (curlin, handsome boy, looks like a tank)

sandieh 09 Feb 2009 10:58 AM

She is beautiful. The Jacksons have stated in several interviews that they want to breed her to Dynaformer until they have a filly. The health, breeding, and medical care of La Ville Rouge is based on decisions made by the Jacksons, Mill Ridge, and the attending veterinarians for the farm. If someone has a question about the frequency of her foaling, why not address the issue with her medical team directly? Good veterinarians (a la Dean Richardson) are always happy to explain procedures and their underlying medical rationale. This mare is being treated with care and concern at every level--investigate and it will be obvious.

Karen in Texas 09 Feb 2009 11:29 AM

What a lovely surprise to see La Villa Rouge this morning. Thank you Amanda for taking the time and effort to update this blog on her progress. When I read that Dynaformer was booked full for 2009, I was worried that L.V.R. might not be included in his breeding plan. Whew, no worries. For those that are interested, the Jacksons choose Dynaformer, with some expert pedgree help, for his ability and size played a big part in that choice. Mr and Mrs Jackson have said La Villa Rouge was rather small in bone and thought Dynaformer would provide the physcial build L.V.R. was lacking. Seems like a sound breeding practice to me. Also, she is a very sweet tempered mare and we all know Dynaformer needs all the sweetner he can get. So, size and temperment was their goal. Anyone have a problem with that? As far as breeding back to Dynaformer, let me ask you critics out there a question. Why would you change your strategy when you are producing winners ?  Makes no sense to me and thank goodness your opinion doesn't enter into the Jacksons plan for L.V.R. and I do believe Mrs Jacksons was very clear in her statement that they were hoping for a filly. If not this time, maybe next year. I join all of you in hoping the foal is healthy and that all goes well for the mare.   Thank you Jennie for expressing my thoughts exactly.

Dona 09 Feb 2009 11:43 AM

Jim P - Nearctic did sire Northern Dancer but you left out a  big factor in the mating. Natalma by Native Dancer. The Grey Ghost was to me one of the greatest thoroughbreds ever and it would be very remiss to discuss Northern Dancer without giving Natalma due credit.

Dona 09 Feb 2009 12:11 PM

She certainly is a nice looking horse. Thanks for the photo.

Mattie W. 09 Feb 2009 12:26 PM

Looking forward to the arrival of little Marcano (I think that's the next name in line, yes?)

Wonder if the Jacksons will buy La Ville's half sister?  Other than the one mating to Quiet American  that produced the unraced Man in Havana, they've stuck with Dynaformer.  Any ideas from those in the know on other matings that would work well with her family tree?  I know the Northern Dancer line worries people.

Grey K 09 Feb 2009 12:42 PM

La Ville Rouge is just gorgeous, and her boys do look like her.

I remember reading some comments that Michael Matz made about La Ville Rouge right after the birth of Lentenor: that she looked like she could start training, that's how good she looked!

Also, I remember farther back that Michael Matz commented that you could see Barbaro's shoulders were from his dam, La Ville Rouge.

Another comment(don't remember if it was from Headley Bell or Gretchen Jackson)about the way La Ville Rouge handles everything is that Lentenor, in his romping around, kicked her in the stomach and she just calmly shrugged it off, she was that kind of Mom.

La Ville Rouge is just a beauty, and her elegance and stamina, as well as the quiet grace with which she seems to handle everything is just lovely.

She's a real Dam(e) !

Karen, PA 09 Feb 2009 12:54 PM

Grey K - Actually, LVR has a stakes winner by Saint Ballado named Holy Ground, and she was bred to Deputy Minister one year but aborted the foal.

aduckworth 09 Feb 2009 1:45 PM

Commenting on mares being bred every year is your opinion but IMO it seems that these people put a human slant on it. With respect please don't go there. That's what a broodmare is plain and simple, a baby factory. Most farms will give a mare a year off for various reasons. But if she is well looked after and catching then why not? I don't understand what people mean when they say it's cruel. Mares get in foal and drop foals every year and don't get distressed about it. Do some people relate it to a woman having a child every year? If so, watch "17 and counting" that's a woman who has had 18 I believe. She doesn't seem to concerned about it and apparently both parents love their children and are raising them to be good adults. Now you'll say that's different, humans have choices animals don't. Right, but somebody's got to be on top of the food chain and make the decisions. So you hope that people make the RIGHT decisions.

Wanda 09 Feb 2009 2:16 PM

Thank you for the update it is very much appreciated.

Enjoyed reading your article on Joe Hirsch in a recent issue of BH.

Keep up the great work Amanda!!!

Rodney 09 Feb 2009 3:26 PM

Kathy Your question isn't alarming to me. But I think People, If they took the time, would find the answer alarming. And Somebody, seriously, give that mare a year off!

Buffy Trott 09 Feb 2009 3:48 PM

Amanda, thanks for the info that La Ville did not have a foal in 2008. I did read that somewhere a few months ago but forgot.

GreyK, the name would be Margano. He is the next foxhound in line. Then comes Sereno and last is Calypso. I,m anxious to see which of the names they pick.

DONNA 09 Feb 2009 3:48 PM

FYI, LVR's sister sold for $3,500.00 to KELLY JAMES RICHARD. Hope he treats her with respect and she lives a long, happy life. Thanks amanda for everything on Barbaro's family!

Greg J. 09 Feb 2009 3:48 PM

Greg J; thanks for the info!Do we know what farm Richard is with?

I thought I read on an alex brown racing blog, that the name Margano was already registered with another horse?

horsenut23 09 Feb 2009 4:38 PM

Grey, this colt LVR is carrying will be Morgano. The two remaining names are Serano, and Calypso. I think either of these would be an appropriate name for a filly. With LVR's good looks, and any luck she may be another Rainbow View. Now she is one gorgeous filly. I for one would love to see LVR go to Hard Spun. He may not have won the big ones, but he sure as hell went out there and gave every bit of himself every time he raced. He has real heart. My only issue with Hard Spun is would the foal be able to get any distance past one mile. Remember Hard Spuns biggest win was in the King's Bishop, who incedently is LVR's dam sire. I do like the Blusing Groom in LVR's sires pedigree. Also, you keep the Roberto in the pedigree because he is Hard Spuns 2nd dam sire. Not to mention the Alydar that you bring into the mix should help contribute more distance to the foal. Take a good look at Hard Spun, and tell me him and LVR wouldnt make beautiful babies. But, hey, im just am amatuer.

mdfanofracing 09 Feb 2009 4:48 PM

For some reason mares given a year off between foals are harder to get back into foal. Some never catch again.  There has been a lot of research on this but science has not been able to explain why.

old gray mare 09 Feb 2009 6:14 PM

I messed up ( aduckworth ) thanks for the interesting stallion information I did not understand, I do now tho

Thanks

Ragsy 09 Feb 2009 6:14 PM

I'm happy to hear that she has a "date" with Dynaformer later this year!! That's great news -Thanks!!

Cheryl G 09 Feb 2009 6:17 PM

Just some information regarding names:  I checked The Jockey Club registry.  There were no results on neither "Margano" or "MOrgano", though I believe the first is the correst spelling.  So the name has not been placed in "P" for permanent (as with Barbaro's name) or "R" for names on reserve.

I checked "Sereno" and it was registered in 2007 and "Calypso" in 1999 (though if you check www.pedigreequery.com, you will see that there are so many "Calypso"'s around the world.

I also checked Released Names and "Margano" did not show up there.

I remember when "Lentenor" was on reserve and we all figured that would be the next foal's name before the gorgeous Lentenor was foaled.

Just some info.  If the pattern is followed, then I assume our next little bundle of equine love will be named "Margano".

BTW, I vote that if any group of people are more caring about their horses, the Jacksons and every one of their associations are top drawer. TOP DRAWER !  As Gretchen Jackson said, she thinks she was born with "HORSE" stamped on her heart.

Karen, PA 09 Feb 2009 7:08 PM

She looks so much like Barbaro, they have the same intelligent eye and big beautiful star.

Katie 09 Feb 2009 7:33 PM

Also, La Ville Rouge had a year off after Barbaro and before Nicanor. If a mare's body isn't ready to hold a baby, they will not get pregnant or they will abort the foal. The mare knows how to take care of herself.

LyndaP31 09 Feb 2009 7:33 PM

She was also bred to Quiet American.  That horse never made it to the race track.  She goes back to Dynaformer because they want a filly from that pairing.

She has had two years when she did not either get pregnant or carry a foal to term so she has had time off.

MJ 09 Feb 2009 7:58 PM

Some time ago there was a quote by Roy Jackson that they planned to use all the names for LVR's foals.  I believe I read that on this blog somewhere.

Marigold 09 Feb 2009 9:24 PM

How could you not like Hard Spun, that is one horse that should have ran at 4.Everyone is right, La Ville Rouge is absoulutely something to behold.  As for ?, the good of reading it, is to remind us, that even 1000 years from now we are trying our butts off to make it better and safer for all horses. Then we will find as it is now we will be better and safer ourselves.

russell maiers 09 Feb 2009 9:31 PM

I sent LVR a baby shower gift.  A handmade blanket for her and one the new baby, mints and cookies for her and the baby and a teddy bear for the baby.  The staff at Mill Ridge said that she liked her gifts.

Chris 09 Feb 2009 9:37 PM

to tbpartnerperson43 Do you own any tb broodmares? Once they become moms the love it. Most are very unhappy and bored when they aren't pregnant.I have an open mare who had to go back in to training as a trail horse to keep her happy til she is re-bred this month. Its not about the money for me. I love  my mares.

tonitbowner 09 Feb 2009 10:51 PM

I hope that LVR drops a filly soon and they can semi-retire her from breeding.  I've been in this game a long time, racing and recreational, and just want to see LVR live a nice long life.  She's so gosh darn beautiful and brings so much to the bottom line.  B

Barb K 09 Feb 2009 11:23 PM

Karen, Pa;

Thanks for checking!

horsenut23 10 Feb 2009 9:38 AM

I can't wait till she foals please keep us updated!

Tara 10 Feb 2009 2:58 PM

She is one beautiful mare.  I have said this on other blogs.  Dynaformer and  La Ville Rouge need to have a serious horsey talk about having a filly.

I can see where Barbro, Nicanor and Lentanor are getting those hearts on their heads. Such traditional traits. Generations of these horses are what this Nation needs the most.  They all have so much beauty and talent.  Not to mention their personalities.

Stunning!

stardust 11 Feb 2009 6:06 PM

Barb K

She will if it takes 15 colts, sooner or later there has to be a filly baby Barbarett.  :)

stardust 11 Feb 2009 6:07 PM

Karen in Texas

I agree with your post.  This mare has the best medical care and people around her.

Ragsy; The resemblence with La Ville Rouge and Barbaro is astonishing.  Those eyes an that beautiful head.  There is no mistaking that.  I love this picture of her.  Curlin and Rags LOL that is IF Rags lets Curlin near her.  :)  They would make a cute baby though.

The legacy of Barbaro will carry on for a very long time.  Such an amazing thing for a horse that never was a stallion.  :)

Barbaro will always live on in so many horses.  I just love it.

stardust 11 Feb 2009 6:19 PM

Stardust;

If you go back and look at the Lentenor video ( on Bloodhorse), you'll see he has a whisp around his nose, and you can (barely) see a whisp (this pic) on LVR from her nose to mouth.

horsenut23 12 Feb 2009 9:27 AM

Well, I am not Stardust, but I decided to take the test horsenut23 and you are absolutely and one hundred percent correct. There is a wisp of white on his nose that I've never noticed before. I guess it is all depends on what direction they have Lentenor pointing when he has his picture.

Kathy 12 Feb 2009 10:54 AM

horsenut23

Yeah I just looked at the one on LVR and saw that.  I'll look for Lentanors.  I cannot believe how much Barbaro looks like mom.  Just mind boggling.  Did you see my poem I wrote last night?  I whipped that up in about 5 minutes.  I love that blog.  :)

stardust 12 Feb 2009 10:59 AM

This is what I am starting to think.  I feel that La Ville Rouge and Dynaformer have alrady talked about this a lot in horsy talk.  I think that they have decided to shoot out a bunch of colts for awhile to get this family really big.  THEN they will produce a filly.  I just bet that they have out smarted us.  As long as they keep on producing colts, they know they will stay together.  It is this on going love affair and really there should be a wedding. :)

When La Ville Rouge has her filly, then the Jacksons may decide not to do anymore breeding.  So with this in mind, I feel that La Ville Rouge and Dynaforer are one step ahead of the humans.  There will probably be so many brothers of Barbaro it will be as if he sired them himself.  I know this sounds weird and corny but think of all of the fame that will come with each of these babies.

Those two are smarter than we are.  I bet they know exactly what they are doing. :)

20 baby brothers of Barbaro.  That is something that would go down in the history books.  As Barbaro sits in Heaven looking down, knowing that he is bringing a new one into the world through his mom and dad for awhile.  How cool is THAT?  :)

stardust 12 Feb 2009 12:22 PM

I want a Valentine baby foal.  That would be so cool.  Yo Barbaro, think you can arrange that for us?  :)

stardust 12 Feb 2009 1:02 PM

Stardust;

Yes, I did see your haiku on the other blog- very good!

I don't think you want LVR to have 20 Barbaro siblings, the poor girl will still be pregant at 30, we don't want that to happen,I think we'll need to bring that  sibling number down a bit, don't you? :)

horsenut23 12 Feb 2009 2:29 PM

Have you guys got anything going for a baby present?  Like a huge basket of apples, carrots and all the stuff like what Edgar had when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame?  Tell me where to go to donante for this if you have this going on OK?  :)

stardust 12 Feb 2009 3:08 PM

horsenut23

Maby the magic number 9.  That would be more realisitic.  The filly could be the 9th foal.  :)  How about that?

stardust 12 Feb 2009 3:10 PM

That sounds better! This way LVR can finish out her life as "just" a horse. I wouldn't mind the filly coming before the 9th! :)

horsenut23 12 Feb 2009 4:32 PM

horsenut23  I think that 9 siblings will be a really good way to keep the racing industry on the right track. People would start loving horse racing simply because of all of the fame these babies bring in.  So cool!  :)  9 Babies is a lot for her though with Dynaformer.  How old is she now?  No I don't want to look it up LOL.

stardust 12 Feb 2009 8:19 PM

Marigold

What are they gonna do when they run out of names before the filly?

stardust 12 Feb 2009 8:21 PM

Are they both going to be the jacksons horses?

ian 12 Feb 2009 8:31 PM

poor girl, will probably be retired from breeding after the names from picture have been completed. at the risk of sounding selfish, yes it would be nice la ville rouge and dynaformer if we could have a filly. love you guys dearly..

sandieh 13 Feb 2009 12:23 PM

With a mare this beautiful you have to get spectacular colts~!!

Thanks to the Jackson's and Bloodhorse for keeping us updated on the activities of this wonderful family of horses.

Linda 15 Feb 2009 9:31 AM

Stardust;

LVR was foaled in 1996, making her 13 years old this year

Dynaformer was foaled in 1985, making him 24 years old this year,

What a STUD! To still be able to make babies at his age is great, but he too, wouldn't be able to keep going with LVR to make 20 babies either, unfortunately. Let's just hope this next one is a filly so as not to put any more pressure on those two! :-)

horsenut23 15 Feb 2009 1:57 PM

Stardust,

As someone else suggested, Barbarella would be perfect!

Marigold 15 Feb 2009 4:31 PM

Linda

I so agree with you.  This mare is stunning.  So is Dynaformer.  I am so greatful that Barbaro has brought so many changes and good into the sport of racing.  It has been a long hard ride and we are not even close to the finish line but we are on the backstretch.  We love these horses and because of the kindness of the Jacksons, it is possible for us to watch these babies being born and grow into beautiful horses.  Bloodhorse ROCKS!

stardtust 15 Feb 2009 5:07 PM

Marigold

Yeah I agree that would be the best name for a filly.  :)  I wonder if the Jacksons agree.  Hi Roy and Gretchen.  You guys are so way cool with your horses.  We are still working on our assignments. :)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 12:33 PM

horsenut23

OK I'll make a deal with ya.  How about the next 2 being fillys.  We need at least 2 fillys and then they can retire.  :)  That would be a good compromise.  Then there would be 5 baby Barbaro's.  Oh man and all the baby Barbaro's from them.  How cool would that be.  We need to keep the Barbaro legacy going stronger than any other horses. :)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 12:35 PM

ian

I am sure that any foals out of those two will belong to the Jacksons as full owners.  :)  TNANK GOD!  They love their horses.

stardust 16 Feb 2009 1:00 PM

sandieh

Yeah I agree and look at all the fame that is being born into this sport.  :)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 1:02 PM

Yeah it is Roy & Gretchen & bloodhorse that have been there from the beginning.  We all get it.  Been through all of the ups and downs together.  We are all such a powerful group that because of Barbaro & the Jackson's & their wishes, we have changed and will keep on making changes for these wonderful horses.  It is about the HORSE!  Safety and Love FIRST!  :)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 1:49 PM

Stardust;

Okay to the 2 filly deal!!!!! Dynaformer is doing great right now, but anything can happen at his age now that might force him to be pensioned, so we have to take it one year at a time. So the next two in a row have to be a filly, then LVR can hook up with another man. :-)

horsenut23 16 Feb 2009 2:08 PM

horsenut23

DEAL!  We need for LVR and Dynaformer to have a serious horsy talk.  They need to get it right.  It is best to take things one year, month and day at a time.  I didn't realize Dyaformer was that old.  LVR sure does have some spunk in her though.  Who do you think would be another good one for her?  AFTER the two fillies? :)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 3:50 PM

horsenut23

That would mean that LVR would have to file for a divorce.   Poor Dynformer.  Ya know that those two probably are really great buds and close. :)  I think the LVR and Dynaformer should retire together and watch all their babies win all the races and have their babies and enjoy being horses. ;)

stardust 16 Feb 2009 5:04 PM

Stardust;

LVR has too many good breeding years left for her to retire. After Quiet American, Saint Ballado, and Deputy Minister, she obviously found a "relationship" that worked with Dynaformer.:-). I'll have to do some research on who would be next in line, as I don't know much about breeding. Anyone else have an idea of a "good man" for LVR after Dynaformer?

horsenut23 16 Feb 2009 6:31 PM

Why does that remind me of a really bad movie starring Bobcat Goldthwaite?

Concerned Fan 17 Feb 2009 4:57 AM

I really, really, really want to see the baby!!! Its time for mom, La Ville to start the birthing process.  She is so close and I am becomming impatient. Lots of love to you sweet, lovin mother, have a saft birthing. Hearts and kisses to you.

Ragsy 17 Feb 2009 9:40 AM

horsenut23 I know :(

LVR is a very young mare and she is so beautiful.  I just like the LVR/Dynaformer connection. cause it is the full sibling to Barbaro and that is awesome. They make such a cute horsy couple.

Maybe Dynaformer will understand that this process must continue and not take it so hard when his mare goes off to breed with another stud. LOL  I often wonder about Curlin.   What do you think about that combo?  :)

stardust 17 Feb 2009 10:48 AM

Ragsy

She is so close to due.  I can't wait to see this baby either.  I am sure it will be on Nation TV.  Then OMG the things that will be printed and all of the love for that new baby will be overwhelming.  :)

Lots of prayers to you La Ville  and have a healthy and safe birth.  Another baby Barbaro.  How cool. This will be three.  WOW.  I don't think in my whole life I have EVER see this happen where one horse carried on his legacy through mom and dad like this. Stunning.

Amanda.  We are going to need pictures of all of these horses in one picture.  Wouldn't that be a nice picture to put up in your livingroom.

stardust 17 Feb 2009 10:57 AM

horsenut23....LOL

If you were a horse wouldn't you love Dynaformer too LOL.  He is beautiful.  I am suprised the mares are fighting over him.  :)  I love that color.  My fav for a color on a horse.  Dynaformer is such a stunning stud.

stardust 17 Feb 2009 11:15 AM

Apparently, Dynaformer has sired more fillies that colts.  So, there is a good chance LVR could beget a filly soon.  Let's hope for it!

Marigold 17 Feb 2009 12:24 PM

Stardust:

Curlin would be interesting, but what about Giant's Causeway? Secretariat line that might bring a great filly/broodmare into the mix. He also has the Roberto line too as Dynaformer.[would that be like kissing cousins?:-)]

Distorted Humor has similar bloodlines as LVR, so too much inbreeding?(is there such a thing here?)

Or go for broke with Candy Ride and bring introduce some new blood?

I have no idea the true type of runners these ,paired with LVR, just had some fun playing with this idea. So, no wisecracks from the peanut gallery, I'm the blind leading the blind here! :-)

horsenut23 17 Feb 2009 1:50 PM

horsenut23

Distorted Humor  would be OK but the thing about that is the bloodline.  If it is similar, is it too similar?  That is one of the things that really needs to be dealt with RE: breeding.  We have to really start paying attention to that and go for the soundness rather than the speed.  I think that would be a huge step to put things back on track with the industry.  Soundness always wins in the end.  Speed is good but sometimes it is too good and it can cause all kinds of heartach.

Marigold  OK then if this is the case what is the problem here LOL!  WE WANT A FILLY.  :) Maybe then need to fill up the names with the painting first.  I don't know.  I just know that if Dynaformer has sired more fillys than colts then something is very strange here.

stardust 17 Feb 2009 3:43 PM

Stardust: Dynaformer knew the heartache we would have over the loss of Barbaro, soooo he decided to give us several colts to help fill our sorrow before he gives us a filly. ( does that make me a nut too)?  even so, I dont care....

Ragsy 17 Feb 2009 6:36 PM

Ragsy

We may be nuts but we are FOB nuts and because of us nuts we have helped a lot of horses that wouldn't have been helped had we not gone nuts over Barbaro.  Does that make sense?  I don't care either.  :)  Your probably right.  Dynaformer has totally outsmarted us.

stardust 18 Feb 2009 10:26 AM

Dynaformer is a wiley old rascal.  He's witholding a filly to keep us all interested.

Actually the breeding aspect of this horse racing business is the most interesting aspect for me.  Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match...

Marigold 18 Feb 2009 11:03 AM

Ragsy:

Your Dynaformer theory seems plausible, and "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't" :)

I don't think your nutty, just using your sense of humor!

horsenut23 18 Feb 2009 11:24 AM

On thing that I have to say from my heart and that is;

Thank You Amanda, Bloodhorse and Roy and Gretchen for letting us be a part of the legacy of Barbaro.  We are still doing our homework and we are 'still as strong' as we were on the 29th of January 2007!

We all so much appreciate all you are doing for us and letting us be in the lives of these wonderful horses.  Your dedication to Barbaro was/is overwhelming and because of ONE horse, look at all of the enlightment and wonderful things that are happening for ALL of the horses.

Without the legacy of Barbaro, we would not have come this far.  Thousands of horses have another chance now because of your generosity.  We could have never done this without you guys.  :)  You are all getting A+'s in my book.  We love horses and we love everything about Barbaro and the siblings.  Oh and of course LDV and Dynaformer for sticking together.

stardust 18 Feb 2009 11:25 AM

Ragsy

I am getting impatient too.  We need a lift in our day. Boy that would do it.  OK LVR we can stop the waiting game now.  We want the baby.  Come on mom, have that foal.  You are such a good mom.  The best.  And your first from Dynaformer will right there by your side when you are having that kid.  He will be blessing you both with infinate showers of shining stars.  :)

stardust 18 Feb 2009 12:40 PM

Your right Stardust, I knew nothing about horse slaughter until a few months before his death and yes, we have helped save many horses in Barbaro's name, now, thats pretty awesome in its self...

Thanks Barbaro, and I love, love your family.....

Ragsy 18 Feb 2009 2:30 PM

Ragsy.  We sure do GET IT.  Barbaro was the best and he will always be the best with his enormus legacy continuing through his siblings.  It is amazing how much just ONE HORSE has done for the entire racing industry.  I have never seen as many caring and passionate people as I have in the FOB family.  We care about the horse.  The horse comes first and we will win in the end with everything that we do.  :)

We all love Barbaro and he is totally THE HORSE that made the difference for thousands of decisions.  We are not even close to done yet.  It will get better for the horses.

stardust 18 Feb 2009 3:54 PM

Marigold

Boy I'll say Dynaformer is wiley old rascal.  That is one smart beautiful stallion there.  Love his horseanality.

stardust 18 Feb 2009 3:59 PM

Stardust:

How about Awesome Again for LVR? That's the Deputy Minister line that Better Than Honor is from, and we know what she did with Jazil and Rags To Riches in the Belmont!

But first we have to get through the Dynaformer/Barbaro Brothers!

Go Nic, Go Lentanor, Go Babynor and those two fillies coming up after that! :-)

horsenut23 18 Feb 2009 4:29 PM

Just stumbled upon an old NPR radio interview with Gretchen Jackson in which the names were discussed and pictures of the Foxhounds were shown.  The next name on the list from Right to Left (which is how they've chosen, so far -- is Margano.  So, that may well be Babynor's name).

Marigold 18 Feb 2009 6:54 PM

horsenut23

Yeah we still have the baby that will pop out any day now and then the two fillys.  I think your idea is a good one.  AA is a good horse. Rags? She is one fine mare.  She is 5 now isn't she?

We are the dating service for LVR. LOL  This is great.  She will always have that special place for her Dynaformer though.  I don't think he will mind, do you?

stardust 18 Feb 2009 9:28 PM

Marigold

Margano WOW that is close to your blog name.  That is cool.  Sounds like it should be a filly though don't you think?

stardust 19 Feb 2009 9:33 AM

I am going to go on the record, and predict LVR will gice Birth to a healthy Foal Named Margano on Feb. 20, which is on a Friday,(Nicanor-03/15/06 which was a Wednesday, Lentenor-04/19/07 which was a Thursday, Barbaro-04/29/03 which was a tuesday. I believe LVR is picking each day of the Week !(lol). That will give us the Three Musketeers.

Greg J. 19 Feb 2009 10:12 AM

Horsenut23 your cool.

I feel a heaviness in my being today, need some changes that will bring good cheer LVR.

Ragsy 19 Feb 2009 10:30 AM

Stardust:

If they would only pay us for LVR's "dating service",we could throw some back into anti-slaughter/abuse, and making bigger bets at the races! :)

They'll probably stick with Dynaformer until he starts shooting blanks.

Hopefully we'll hear soon about the birth of "Margano".

horsenut23 19 Feb 2009 10:48 AM

Greg J

Good Point.  The Trio.  How cool is that.  LVR is a smart gal and she has all of us on our toes.  Can't wait to see that baby.  Just can't wait.  Oh he is gonna be such a shining star in this industry.  It will be all over the news and probably in every paper across the country and world.  One famous family here.

Roy and Gretchen, you are both so very special.  Thank-You.

stardust 19 Feb 2009 11:41 AM

horsenut.  We would use the money for all the horses.  It would be great.  Think of all the homes we could find for these beautiful horses.  Now we need to come up with a fee.  THEN we can start our little trip here and the money will just go in circles.  :)

I still think we should plan a wedding for LVD and Dynaformer. They seem to be so in tune with each other.  We can use blue and green flowers.  :)

stardust 19 Feb 2009 11:44 AM

Greg J:

Are you saying you are "The Great Carnac"? Maybe you could give us a time of birth also? :-)

That would be cool if she did give birth on Friday. I delivered each of my boys one day closer to due date; 1st 2 days before, 2nd 1 day before, the third right on the due date. So, maybe LVR and I are on the same wavelength? :-)LOL

Just wishing her an easy foaling and healthy colt!

horsenut23 19 Feb 2009 12:24 PM

We are all anxiously awaiting the birth of "Babynor".  Find myself running to this site several times a day.  There are so may of us "Aunties in waiting" Wishing you an easy foaling, beautiful LVR and can't wait to see Barbaro's newest Bro.

Bonnie3 20 Feb 2009 9:40 AM

Well this is what I know Greg.  LOL  When I wake up in the morning and come over here and don't see that she has had the kid yet, I go darn!  I would think that Amanda will have it up right away.  If we don't see it somewhere else.  :)  OK LVR  kick out that kid!  We want a baby.

Good luck mom with your birth and have a healthy foaling process OK? Big brother Barbaro will be right there with you.  You couldn't have a better Angel watching you to make sure you are going to be just fine.  AND you have done this so you know the drill.  :)

stardust 20 Feb 2009 10:28 AM

Margano???????  you can come into the world now.  We are waiting to see you.  You are coming into a world with so much love with your family and friends.  You have thousands of us just waiting for that special moment when the stars will all light up.  Another baby brother.  This is just getting better and better by the years.

Love and miss you big guy.  You are the BEST!

stardust 20 Feb 2009 10:32 AM

Friday, February 20:  Are we on baby watch/ rather, foal watch?  Will little Babynor (for now) be like Lentenor was, kicking up his heels and frisking about the paddock under the watchful eye of his Mum?  Lentenor was one ADORABLE baby! What a beautiful, dignified young lad he's grown up into. (I'm half watching a British movie, can you tell?)

Marigold 20 Feb 2009 11:31 AM

Hey FOB's  how about signing this petition that just was released.

community.hsus.org/.../HSLF_2009_conyersburton_horses

Barbaro we are your voice and your brothers are making sure that it is heard!!!  Have that kid LVR!  :)  Our prayers are with you sweet mare to have your birth go perfecty just like you are.

stardust 20 Feb 2009 1:48 PM

Here is the actual article that was just released.  :)  Sorry about not putting it in the other email.

stardust 20 Feb 2009 1:50 PM

Dear La Ville Rouge,

It is the 20th and February and I was just wondering how you were doing? I know the darlings at Mill Ridge are busy with you and your pregnant compatriots, but I am hoping that they have time to update their Website on when your little bundle of joy arrives. May you have a quick and safe labor and birth.

Love ya,

Kathy

Kathy 20 Feb 2009 2:09 PM

lovely mare

can't wait for the newest arrival to Barbaro's family!

horsefan4ever 21 Feb 2009 2:32 PM

La Ville Rouge today is the 21st and this has really been a long year and yes, you are the most important horse to me right now sooo please, have mercy and deliver a healthy baby really soon.

Lots of love to you with hugs and kisses with numerous carrots and happy times for you and your baby's...

( may some one save Storm In May )

Ragsy 21 Feb 2009 4:57 PM

Ragsy.

I wonder if she is waiting till the 29th to have her baby.  I am getting very impatient.  Everytime I log on, I check to see if the baby is born.  NOT :( OK La Ville Rouge you are in charge and you have done this so you know what is going on.

I pray for a safe, healthy, spunky, baby that is as beautiful as you are mom.  Lot of kisses and hugs from my direction and carotts and apples.  We are waiting for you to make  your move :)

stardust 22 Feb 2009 12:45 PM

Ragsy what are you talking about with Storm In May ?????????????

stardust 22 Feb 2009 12:45 PM

Storm In May is being run almost every 2 weeks or so and he is usually last in each race, I am afraid he will be hurt.  He seems to have lost interest in racing. He races today in a claimer high priced 150,000 at Gulfstream, who knows what will happen to him.

I wish someone would buy him away from his trainer and give him a

life away from the track..

Ragsy 22 Feb 2009 2:32 PM

Stardust there is no 29 this month but it would be a good date for birthing a bab...its both good and bad isnt it.

Ragsy 22 Feb 2009 2:38 PM

My birthday is February 24th.  He'll be born on that date, I hope.  Then I can share my birthday with my beautiful persian cat and Barbaro's beautiful brother.

Mary 22 Feb 2009 7:22 PM

If you find one diamond in the rough, chances are you will find more.  Dynaformer and La Ville Rouge evidentally each carry the dominant gene that spells the word "winner".  Nicanor will win his next race.  You can count or bet on it.  Seriously, any breeder when continue to breed Dynaformer with La Ville Rouge.

Mary 22 Feb 2009 7:40 PM

For a thoroughbred to make it to the race track is a chance of a lifetime, but it is also a lifetime of chance.  You never know the way it will end.  The owner, the trainer, and the jockey, if they don't take the chance again, they'll miss the dance.  Their dance with Barbaro was worth the pain.  They just want to do it again, and I have a feeling they will.

Mary 22 Feb 2009 8:43 PM

Sort of an odd comment about Storm in May, he finished 6th of 7 in the 8th on 1/28 at Gulfstream. It was a $100,000 optional claiming race, and the winner was Cool Coal Man. Storm in May has posted 2 4f works since then, on 2/8 and 2/15.

Concerned Fan 23 Feb 2009 5:22 AM

Ragsy, FYI, Storm in May came in Seventh out of Seven, So maybe you are right, Maybe they should retire him to Greener pastures....

Greg J. 23 Feb 2009 9:27 AM

Storm in May isn't going to make it to May at this rate.  :(

Mary.  That would be cool if LVR would have her foal on the 24th for ya.  And you are right.  I think that those two are going to produce a TC winner.  We just don't know who it will be yet.  Mayb it will be a filly.  Now that would rock.  I think that Lentenor is a very good possibility.  Time will tell.  :)

Ragsy.  Woops.  Forgot this is that weird month of the  year.  Wow this means the bills are due a lot sooner.  DARN!  :)

stardust 23 Feb 2009 10:55 AM

Greg J  How are ya?  Maybe Storm in May needs to take a break until May.  :)

stardust 23 Feb 2009 1:25 PM

Anxiously awaiting the birth of the new colt.  Any news?  Hope the birth goes well and La Ville Rouge and baby are healthy.

Madbkseller 23 Feb 2009 1:28 PM

can you send some info on la ville rouge to let us know how she is doing and tell us what the foal will be named.

Horse lover 23 Feb 2009 3:00 PM

Madbkseller

I feel the same way.  It will be on National news when she does foal.  After all this is another full brother to Barbaro.  The fame will be there before the horse stands up.  :)

stardust 23 Feb 2009 3:42 PM

Horse Lover - I plan on doing an update when she foals. The Jacksons have until early in the horse's 2-year-old year to name him without penalty, so he may not be named immediately. That said, they have named Barbaro's brothers rather quickly.

aduckworth 23 Feb 2009 4:03 PM

aduckworth thanks for all the info, pictures etc.  you have provided!!! I just love any and all Jackson Bros"""  I eagerly await your thread on the new boy or girl LVR has......

Mary, I do hope La Ville Rouge births on your day, I am like an expectant grand mother & father.

Stardust it does not matter that their is no 29th this month, just, gimme the baby...

Ragsy 23 Feb 2009 5:47 PM

Seems like the Owners: Roy & Gretchen Jacksons named the boys when they had their yearling confirmation picture taken, course we really knew what the names were going to be with that foxhound picture, when we found the picture we knew the names.

secrets are hard to keep sometimes...

Ragsy 24 Feb 2009 8:39 AM

Ragsy Remember when the named Lentenor?  It was the 29th of January 2008.  Remember that?  It wouldn't suprise me that they name the new baby on Barbaro's B-day the 29th of April.  :)

stardust 24 Feb 2009 10:18 AM

Man I get on the pc and nada.  NO BABY!   We want a baby!  Come on mom.  Let's get this done! :)  Love ya..... LVR.  Have a healthy birth so you can go and see Dynaformer again and make that filly.

stardust 24 Feb 2009 10:41 AM

Stardust that would be the best, simply the best...

Those pictures of Nicanor on the new thread, shows the family resemblance of the Jackson's boys.  Guess,I will never tire of them.  Once you fall in love, you

stay in love, guess,thats true

love...

How many days pregant is LVR??

Ragsy 25 Feb 2009 9:40 AM

Ragsy.  The Jackson's have always done and been the best with their horses in my eyes.  The best does the best.  We love all of these horses and because of the Jacksons, we have the chance to be in their lives.  This is a rare and special gift.  I wish they would put up a webcam of her :)  How about that Gretchen?  Wouldn't that be cool?  I think none of us would do nothing but watch her all day and night.  :)

stardust 25 Feb 2009 11:10 AM

Ragsy.  She is too many days preg.  I think over a year.  Amanda would know.  WOW.  I feel for ya LVR.  You are really really pregnant.  She is such a pretty mare.  All of her babies have her look thats for sure.

stardust 25 Feb 2009 11:11 AM

Startdust - She is NOT over a year pregnant. Her due date was Feb. 21, so she is just a few days late. Usually that is calculated from the last time she was bred. As I posted in the other thread, normally, the length of gestation is 342 days, give or take 20 days.

For more information about gestation, I would recommend reading this article from our sister magazine The Horse (registration is free): www.thehorse.com/ViewArticle.aspx

aduckworth 25 Feb 2009 11:50 AM

So LVR is 344 days pregnant, give or take 20 days from 340 days, based on that she might have a  way to go, bless her heart....even so,lots of love to you sweetee!!!( I did read thehorse.com info and it is informative... )

thanks..

Ragsy 25 Feb 2009 2:47 PM

Sorry,342 days give or take 20 days, I may get it straight yet!

Thanks

Ragsy 25 Feb 2009 4:18 PM

Well, I've decided that LVR will be having her next foal tomorrow for tomorrow, 02/26 is my birthday and what better gift could anyone give me than knowing that LVR has given birth to a healthy foal.

And if this date doesn't match up with LVR's clock, I am sure someone will have the honor of having this foal born on their birthday coming up real soon.

Kathy 25 Feb 2009 4:46 PM

Can a person buy a ticket at the gate for the Kentucky Derby?  Think I would like to go, it will be a first...

Love and kisses LVR

Ragsy 26 Feb 2009 9:14 AM

Ragsy - Reserved seats are sold out far in advance, but you can buy a ticket to the infield at the gate. For more information, visit: www.kentuckyderby.info/kentuckyderby-tickets.php

aduckworth 26 Feb 2009 11:32 AM

Infield is fine

Thanks for the information, it sounds like it will be fun...

Ragsy 26 Feb 2009 12:08 PM

Ragsy and Kathy

Well I hope LVR has her baby today for you!  Happy B-day.

Amanda, I saw the 342 days and rounded it out to a year LOL.  That is pretty close.  Thanks for the link.  I always wondered how long mom would carry the babies with horses.

Ragsy.  If she doesn't pop soon I am going to scream!

Amanda do horses ever have twins or tripplets?

stardust 26 Feb 2009 12:46 PM

Ragsy.  We really need to set a date for the wedding.  I'll do the flowers green and blue.  You can decide what you want to do.  Rings hmmmmmmmm where are we gonna put those?  Oh so much to do.  I love weddings.  :)  They need to get married before they breed again.

stardust 26 Feb 2009 12:49 PM

Oh boy, I hope she doesn't wait until my birthday on 3/11!!!! Doesn't someone else have a birthday before than? :-)

horsenut23 26 Feb 2009 1:01 PM

OH boy the infield. That would be a lot of fun.  :)  I would rather go to the Breeders Cup.  It is closer LOL........... THAT is probably where Nicanor will run. :)

stardust 26 Feb 2009 1:45 PM

Stardust - There are cases of mares having twins, but it is very hard on both the mare and the foals, and thus they try to avoid it because both babies rarely make it. It does happen though. Some twins include Go on Green and Stop on Red, and One for You and And One for Me.

aduckworth 26 Feb 2009 2:01 PM

Stardust:

Who will be the ringbearer? The new colt? Best Man, Maid of Honor (how about Better Than Honor ? LOL)

Carrot cake for the wedding cake? Or Mash? WHO WILL MARRY THEM?

horsenut23 26 Feb 2009 2:05 PM

WOW Amanda. How cool.  I would think that it would be hard on mom cause of the way they carry those foals.  All legs all curled up.  I would think that they would get tangled up in mom.  :(

horsenut23  OMG and if it is my birthday we are really in trouble.  May 15th.  Geeeeeeeeesh Come on LVR have that kid!  We want a baby.  NOW.  Grethen will you go out and ask her to please stop messing with us and have her baby.  You have a way with your horses.  :)

stardust 26 Feb 2009 2:21 PM

Ragsy

I'll create the marriage license too and send it to Roy and Grethen.  I'll also post it on here so all of you have have a copy.  :)  Oh man who is going to marry them?  Ragsy, I need your help preparing this wedding.  We need to start getting organized. How about a June wedding?  :)

stardust 26 Feb 2009 2:34 PM

Well, I really think it depends on when they plan on breeding again? Then we can really plan a big wedding.  If the Breeders cup is in the fall and Nicky is there it may interfer with his being the the wedding party. After all he will carry the ring of carrots and apples.

Lentenor will help with the guest seating along with La Ville's half sister.

This new youngster be it male or female will need alot of guidence because she will need to be close to mom..

Perhaps Brother Curlin could come and preform the rituals and he could investigate La Ville just in case Dynaformer gets cold feet..but thats something that I  know would never happen...

When's the Breeders Cup Date, I would not mind a trip out there?

Ragsy 26 Feb 2009 4:24 PM

Ragsy

OK we can take our time because of the BC.  I like the Carrot cake for the wedding cake idea.  I also like Curlin preforming the rituals.  That is a really good idea.  I don't see Dynaformer backing out though. She is way too beautiful and their babies are the best.  They are loved by millions  before they are born. :)

As for Lentenor, help with the guest seating along with La Ville's half sister, that is a good idea but we have to make sure Lentanor is on break.  He will need a lot of time off for this and so MM will have to let us know about that.

Where are the horses going to wear their rings?  That is a big one.  I thought about a few places on the horse but I haven't quite figured that out yet.  Of course the rings should be platinum so they match their shoes. Well we are getting this together slowly but surly.

Amanda, when is their date for the next breeding?  I can't do the marriage license until we pick a date.  :)

stardust 26 Feb 2009 5:40 PM

Has LVR had her baby yet?  Do they know for sure if it is a boy or a girl?

KAM 27 Feb 2009 11:45 AM

Is he here yet? dieing for info!

Debbie 27 Feb 2009 12:08 PM

Now 15, Given Us Hope is in foal to Istan.  She is hip No. 165.

Update: Given Us Hope sold for $3,500 to Kelly James Richard.

Istan stud fee is 8,500 why can there sale her that cheep?

Debbie 27 Feb 2009 12:18 PM

Ragsy/Stardust;

How many invites are we talking about? Humans? Horses? Who's doing "clean-up"? Mash or carrotcake? Where is the ceremony? WHO'S PAYING? C'mon girls, get a move on! :-) LOL LOL

You need to figure this out BEFORE babynor comes, as we'll all be too busy after that!

The Breeder's Cup is in October.

horsenut23 27 Feb 2009 4:27 PM

horsenut23

We are including all of the FOB's and Barbaro's brothers and any other horse that wants to attend (the ones that are buds with Nicanor and Lentenor, or should be.)

The new baby can carry the green and blue flowers. LOL  If you want to, you can jump on the train and take part in this wedding.  As for humans, the Jacksons, MM, Alex, Peter, Dean Richardson, TRUE FOB's (phony ones are not invited).  If you don't love the family then no invitation.  :)  I am not sure where we would have the wedding.  Maybe Ragsy can figure that out.

If it is right after the Breeder's Cup then maybe on the west coast or in Florida.  We want it to be nice and warm for the wedding.

As for the clean up.  Hmmmm well that is a good question.  Never thought of that LOL.  We will have to work on that one.  Got any ideas?

Amanda may have a good idea for date because she knows when they have their next breeding date. Of course we need to prepare Dynaformer.  He has to have plenty of rest too.  What we need to do is make sure that all of their schedules are right and then we can figure all of this out.

I just can't wait for this wedding.  They are so right for each other.

KAM  A colt.

Debbie  NO HE IS NOT :( :( :(  Come on mom what are you waiting for.  It is March 1rst.  Pop that baby. Stay healthy LVR and have a very safe birth.  Oh we cannot wait to see him.  Three brothers.  My three sons.  Wow!  LVR remember, a filly next time. Love ya... :)

stardust 01 Mar 2009 11:18 AM

Stardust/Ragsy

How about the trolls for clean-up duties, wouldn't that be fitting? LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL !!!!!!!!

Studly Dynaformer doesn't need a rest. He needs to keep busy up until the wedding day so he doesn't get cold feet!!!!

My vote is for CA for the wedding, less chance of rain than Fla. Besides, I have a friend in LA I could stay with!

horsenut23 01 Mar 2009 3:36 PM

Does anyone know the other hounds' names from the picture Barbaro was named from? I'd like a guess as to what this little guy will be called :)

Also, La Ville Rouge is so beautiful, its easy to see where the family gets their looks from, as they all are close in bay colours with white socks(varying lengths & different markings, I do admit) and a white blaze or star on their faces.  Hope this foal is similar as well!

Barbaro, Nicanor, Lentenor, and the youngest, I love them all, as well as their parents Dynaformer and La Ville Rouge.

One other thing: its plus or minus 20 days right? Well from Feb. 21 its only been 9 days, so she could foal any time from tonight to 11 days from now, so March 12 is the latest unless its going to be a late foal.  lol I find this funny because Matz is always saying that the Barbaro Family is late at maturing, so why not let this little fella be late as well? It keeps the streak going :D

Mystery 01 Mar 2009 6:13 PM

ABR had a note re: Lentenor's birth due on 4-14 birthed on 4-19 around 2:08 am, (mary L )

maybe it's a girl???

Ragsy 02 Mar 2009 8:53 AM

Glad you like Brother Curlin as the leader of services, although looks right now, he cant keep his eyes off those other young ladies, he will settle down by time of services. We have to work this into his schedule for the girls wont leave him alone..

Brother Curlin wanted the fruit rings around La Ville's neck so he could grab a bite during the cermony he's afraid of missing out of food, the festive activity of the day.  Also, Brother Curlin just stood his ground and stated, if you want to marry LaVille and Dynaformer you had better come to " Churchill Downs" for the service because thats where Barbaro is.

Bless Brother Barbaro his spirit wants to be included.  Brother Curlin is really pawing the ground for that request to be accepted....

.we must pay attention or we may lose him....

Ragsy 02 Mar 2009 11:56 AM

Horsenut&Stardust:

Absolutely, the trolls get clean up duties, what a marvelous idea.  Some of those big hoofs present might just step on their footies, if they dont step lively...

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 10:04 AM

Horsenut23/Ragsy

I just read Ragsy's post about Churchill Downs.  I forgot all about that.  Actually Barbaro is everywhere but she does have a point.  I am glad she brought this up.  We have to have Curlin.

Yes the trolls can clean up the mess without pay.  I can't think of a better idea than that!!  LOL

Curlin has a very good point.  Smart horse there.  I think that Churchill is a good idea.  That is not only where Barbaro is but it is where some of the work that Barbaro started is working.  The 2 years olds.  Can't race there anymore until they are 24 months old.  YES!!!!! :)  I am thrilled about that and I am gonna keep right on fighting this.

Why does Curlin think he is not going to get anything to eat?  He must have a quirk that I don't know about.  Dynaformer getting cold hooves because with LVR?  HA!  I can't see that happening.  I bet Curlin wishes it would  hahahahahahahaha.

We still need to figure out where to put the rings on the horses.  Pierce the ear?  Maby a ring that will fit their fetlock but I think that would get in the way of them racing and being horses.  I am having a hard time with that one.

We are getting there.  We still need the date.  I can go ahead and start the marriage license without the date.  Let me see if I have this right.  You guys can say yay or nay..

1.  Place of event;  Churchill Downs

2.  Ring Bearer and carrying the carrtots and apples; Lenntenor

3.  Flower baby;  Babynor

4.  Green and Blue Flowers

5.  Performing the rituals - Curlin

5.  Wedding Cake;  Carrot Cake

6.  Clean Up Crew;  TROLLS!

Are we agreeed so far?  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 10:41 AM

Yes, I agree...04-26-09 is when they place the " Bronze Stature" of Barbaro at Churchill Downs along with his ashes, perhaps we could work the wedding in around that time, many people will attend.  hotels are already full for the event.  what do you  think???

The Spirit Of Barbaro, forever present....................

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 11:39 AM

stardust, this would make a cute movie. and to see our precious babynor. oh, we need a number 7, if that is ok with you. a photographer, for pictures to post on our blog. still can't wait...

sandieh 03 Mar 2009 11:44 AM

I say give Brother Curlin his very own barrel of fruit! He is right, Churchill is where it should be. Actually, i think he wants to have a ghost race with Barbaro to see if he can beat him yet! LOL

Wedding rings- how about new leather halters with GOLD nameplates with the date of marriage and their names entwined in a heart? I don't want any body piercing, no putting holes in their beautiful bodies!

Maybe the trolls should also be in charge of the foals too, where maybe an unwarrated kick might find its way to connecting with human body parts?

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 11:46 AM

Ragsy:

Too soon for babynor on April 26, and mom will be tired after just having the little one.

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 11:48 AM

Ragsy/Horsenut23

Not sure about the 26th.  Maybe the 29th?  That would be really cool.  As for the people and horses attending, there will already be a lot of people there and some may want to crash the wedding cause they are trolls.  We need to have a test (kind of like jury selection questions) for all of the human guests that we are unsure of.

I like the idea of the Gold on the halters.  Now will that be 18 or 24 carrott?

Yeah the trolls in charge of the foals.  That would be great. LOL They may be trolls but they like horses so they can be in part of the services.

Surly they are not attending the wedding or reception!  That is only for true FOB's and family.

I like Brother Curlin his very own barrel of fruit that is a killer idea.  We want to keep him happy.  Yeah a ghost race LOL.  Barbaro would win it by 29 lengths.  ;)

So are we clear on the date?  The 29th?  That is so much work though.  The problem with that is the party crashers.  I am worried about that.  We want this wedding to go smoothly.  The baby will be a couple of months old aaaaaaaahhhhh  how cute with the flowers is that going to look.

When I get a confirmation on the date, I will make up another list. :)

sandieh  You will have to confer with Ragsy and Horsenut about that.  I can't make all the decisions.  We have to all agree on that.  What do you mean the number 7?  I  know that we need a photographer but I was thinking more like Rags to Riches.  After all, Curlin will want her there after the wedding don't ya think?

We do need to throw the number 7 in there somewhere.

stardust 03 Mar 2009 12:11 PM

horsenut23

The Brides parents usually pay for the wedding.  However I feel that since this is all about Barbaro and the brothers, maybe Roy and Gretchen?  LOL  They are so loving and giving.  They have really been right on with their money for the horses.  Just a thought.  I suppose asking them may be a good idea LOL!  OR Curlin's connections can pay for it.  After all, he has the most earnings in the world.  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 12:23 PM

sandieh

This would make a really cute movie.  I bet it would hit the charts too.  For real.  :)  Hey that is not a bad idea.  Another way to raise money for Barbaro fund.

stardust 03 Mar 2009 12:42 PM

Yes, Horsenut your right I was carried away in the moment..of sweet love....But, what a picture it would have been.

your probably right about a barrel of fruit because Dynaformer might get a little testy with Brother Curlin getting too close with LaVille..you know how matters of the heart works.

A special halter made for bride and groom yes, that sounds great where is stardust for approval???

Sandieh, your right a photographer is an absolute need...but can we trust the care of the foals with the trolls??????

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 12:44 PM

LVR and Dynaformers wedding so far.

1.  Place of event:  CHURCHILL DOWNS

2.  Ring Bearer and carrying the carrtots and apples: LENNTENOR

3.  Flower baby:  BABYNOR

4.  GREEN AND BLUE Flowers

5.  Performing the rituals: - CURLIN  (Brother Curlin will have his very own barrel of fruit)

5.  Wedding Cake:  CARROTT CAKE

6.  Clean Up Crew and foal watching:  TROLLS!

7.  Rings:  Leather halters with GOLD nameplates with the date of marriage and their names entwined in a heart.

OK now we need the date and time.

Who will be in charge of the invitations?  Has to be someone or a horse that is very strong in nature and can tell whether someone wants to ruin the wedding.

8.  sandieh  can be the photographer if it is OK with Ragsy and Horsenut.  I am OK with it.  :)

Is this list OK so far?

stardust 03 Mar 2009 12:55 PM

Stardust and Horsenut:

Lets have the marriage on Memoral Day, in Barbaro's memory, I would think Dynaformer & LVR would like that, and it would give LVR recovery time but, she may be tired from working 24 hours a day with the foal, whatcha think???

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 12:59 PM

Ragsy

Memoral Day would be perfect.  I am concerned about the trolls with the foals.  We don't want anything to go wrong with the beautiful babies.  I am leaving that one up to you guys.  I am reluctant.  I think that the foals should be taken care of by the kids and children of the FOB's.  Kids love babies.  The more I think about it, I wouldn' trust my horse/foal with a troll.  :)

OK sooooooooo now all we need is the picture taker and to get that number 7 in there somehow.  We are getting close.  There has got to be more though.  Yeah Curlin is really gonna need a lot of apples and carrots.  He goes near LVR on their wedding day, there will be two STUDS going at it at the event.  We do not need that.  I don't think Curlin understands that it would not be OK since he doesn't know the rules of man.  LOL.  Boy I can see Dynaformer now.  Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!

Date:  Memorial Day.

FOB kids:  Charge of the foals.

Clean up:  TROLLS and that is all they get to do.  ;-)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 2:10 PM

Oh yeah.  We need a time too.  Evening wedding?  Afternoon wedding?  Hmmmmmmmm AND we have to figure out where they are going for thier honeymoon.  Forgot about that.  Boy I love weddings.  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 2:12 PM

What about Sister Rags2Riches for sending invites out to their buds, she is sound, strong even though she is one stubborn filly, some what bull headed too but, that would be a plus she can keep Brother Curlin in his place rather quickly, she did demonstrate that in the Belmont in 2007.  Sister Rags2Riches will do anything as long as she is not pushed too hard.

Why not set the event up for 12:00 NOON ?

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 2:43 PM

Ragsy & Stardust, You guys crack me up, Tooooo Funny, I figured you would love this photo, Maybe gives you an Idea what the Bride & Groom would like...lol

www.freakingnews.com/Horse-Wedding-Pics-28517.asp

Greg J. 03 Mar 2009 3:22 PM

Greg J.  How cool.  Thanks.  Hey we are totally in tune here with this wedding.  I love preparing these.  Those two are gonna be so happy. We really need a good photographer.  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 3:30 PM

Sandieh,Stardust and Horsenut:

I have read: if one wants to change behaviors of people, one starts with the children so my point, movies for children should be: love horses, make more children movies about horses...this would make a cute movie and a good promo for the Barbaro fund....

Heaven knows I still watch those children black stallion movies and cant find enough of them...

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 3:33 PM

Ragsy Good dea.

Sister Rags2Riches  is a great idea for the invites.  She is no bully.  She won't allow anyone at the wedding that shouldn't be there.  Yeah perfect pick. This OK with horsenut?

She will keep Brother Curlin in his place too.  She has already proved that one. :)  He will obey her LOLOLOL!

I love it.

stardust 03 Mar 2009 3:33 PM

Memorial Day is good!Noon-good!

No trolls for foals! (poet & I didn't know it)

Given Us Hope should help out with apples/Lentenor

Honeymoon- how about Breeder's Cup to watch Nic and maybe Lentenor?

sandieh- photographer ( I'll help too if you need it)

Are we goofy or what? At least we're having fun while we await the birth! A much different tone, and BETTER than previously on the other blogs!:-) LOL, LOL, LOL

Too bad John Henry isn't around anymore, he could have been the bouncer for the reception!

Rags2Riches is good, let her think about keeping Brother Curlin in line

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 3:37 PM

Oh yeah.  Noon sounds good to me.  So the new list is:

LVR and Dynaformers wedding so far.

1.  Place of event:  CHURCHILL DOWNS  12:00 NOON! Date:  Memorial Day 2009.

2.  Ring Bearer and carrying the carrtots and apples: LENNTENOR

3.  Flower baby:  BABYNOR

4.  GREEN AND BLUE Flowers

5.  Performing the rituals: - CURLIN  (Brother Curlin will have his very own barrel of fruit)

5.  Wedding Cake:  CARROTT CAKE

6.  Clean up:  TROLLS and that is all they get to do.  ;-)

7.  Rings:  Leather halters with GOLD nameplates with the date of marriage and their names entwined in a heart.

8.  FOB kids:  Charge of the foals!

9.  Sister RAGS TO RICHES to take care of the invitations and keep Curlin and everyone in line.  :)

We still need a photographer.

Horsenut.  How does this fit your schedule so far?

stardust 03 Mar 2009 3:40 PM

OK now since Greg J. has thrown in some good advice.  Who should wear what?

Should they both be wearing blue and green?  One wear one color the other wear the other color.  How about the best man and the brides maid?  We need to get the colors for this wedding down.  Greg put a whole new perspective on this LOL.  Geeeeeeeeesh more work!  Hey Greg, why don't you coorerlate the color scheme.  LOLOLOL :)  If you don't feel like it, then we will do more work.  This is gonna be a really neat wedding.  :)  Aaahhhhhhhhhhh and they already have 4 kids.  One in heaven that is watching over all of us.  Love you Barbaro!!!

stardust 03 Mar 2009 3:44 PM

Come to really think about this.  If we went through with this wedding for real and charged admission, just think  of the money we could come up with for the Barbaro fund.  :)  A lot of people really would go.  Love to see all those horses in one place.  WOW!

stardust 03 Mar 2009 3:47 PM

Greg J:

that website was too funny! will you be attending with the rest of us? would you like to give us any input, you know, from a man's perspective? :)

Stardust/Ragsy:

LVR & Dynaformer will look WAAYY better for their wedding than on this website. sandieh, you and I will do a MUCH better job with the photgraphy also.

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 3:50 PM

How about the Budweiser Clydesdales for the Bouncers?, I believe they could take care of any unruly guests !

Greg J. 03 Mar 2009 4:30 PM

what where Dynaformer's colors? We might want to have a little of his stable colors to as an accent color?

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 4:44 PM

Greg J.  Really good idea.  Is this OK with the rest of you?  I am in.  :)

Budweiser Clydesdales for the Bouncers!

stardust 03 Mar 2009 4:45 PM

horsenut23

OK Dynaformers colors are important.  So far we have green, blue (Dynaformers colors), what about LVR?  Isn't Nicanor the best man?  Who is the brides maid?

That picture that Greg put up is cute but we are really gonna wipe that out.  I think that the 'main colors' should be the green and blue and the accent colors be for like best man, brides maid, other people and horses that are attending this wedding.  Curlin will be wearing White as he will be perfoming the rituals.  Any ideas on what to add to Curlin's colors?

The vows.  Any ideas there?  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 4:50 PM

Greg J

I replied to you on the other website, but the Bud Clyesdales would be perfect! They could even keep an eye on the trolls!

Do you think we've had some impact on "2 timer" with his positive post? I hope so,

Ragsy;

Yes, children and movies, maybe show them about mares and foals, bonding, caretaking, you know- pony club/4H stuff.

horsenut23 03 Mar 2009 4:52 PM

horsenut

I love your idea of the Breeders Cup for the honeymoon.  And  Given Us Hope to help Lentenor!  Both killer ideas. I am sure Ragsy, sandieh, and Greg would be OK with that.  If they object, then they can post it.  I'll add it to the list.  I can alwasys change things.

The Breeders Cup and a killer stall for the Honeymoon Suite so they can see their babies run with the wind.  Oh this is just so much fun.  They will need their barn suite decorated for them as well.  How long should they have for a honeymoon?  :)

When LVR foals then we will be deverted so it really is a good idea to get this done now.  LVR you don't have to wait anymore.  We have your wedding completely under control. ;-)  Have a healthy and safe birth to our next Godson.  Love ya girl.  :)

stardust 03 Mar 2009 5:28 PM

I would not mind seeing DaHoss and Alyshebia(sp) join the Budwiser Clydes in the festive games and fun, since they are older they could be bouncers reporting directly to Rags2Riches. Oh, yes please keep the Clydes....we want those beauties..

Yes, thanks Greg J. that web site was pretty good, how will we get hats on Curlin and the rest??

Dynaformers colors: green/white I think!

Ragsy 03 Mar 2009 6:14 PM

Funny stuff...yall are so silly.. LOL..i wanna know whos gonna hand Dynaformer the ring or halter, so i can order them extra insurance for the digits they will be missing, and Rags is no sweetheart, i hear she will bit you if you give her a chance. And Pulpit should perform the ceremony. Would have to be a fine group of mares and stallions in the wedding party. Horses like Bedazzled, Hasili, Better Then Honor. Street Cry, Smart strike, Giants Causeway....oh good lord, now yall got me doing it..LOL..

They should do the ceremony at Churchill on 04/29/2009, that was Bobby's bday...i know its not really relevant, but that was Dale Earnhardt's birthday too. I miss them both terribly.

umm Greg, I wanna know where you are from that they have bouncers at weddings  LOL

MDFANOFRACING 03 Mar 2009 6:32 PM

MDFAN, lol, I am from connecticut, They don't need bouncers here for weddings, I believe it was stardust who mentioned the bouncers first, lol, So I thought just in case there was an old girlfriend who gets jealous and crashed the ceremony, The Budweiser Clydesdales could take care of her !, OK, Now here is the cutest video EVER, I believe we can use this as a outline.....

www.youtube.com/watch

Greg J. 04 Mar 2009 9:53 AM

Sandieh, Ragsy, Horsenut and Greg

LVR and Dynaformers wedding so far.

2.  Ring Bearer and carrying the carrtots and apples: LENNTENOR & GIVEN US HOPE.

4.  GREEN - WHITE - BLUE Flowers

7.  Rings:  Leather halters with GOLD nameplates with the date of marriage and their names entwined in a heart.

8.  FOB kids:  Charge of the foals! When they have the foals under control then they can watch movies about mares and foals, bonding, caretaking, club/4H stuff.

9.  Sister RAGS TO RICHES to take care of the invitations and keep Curlin and everyone in line.  :)

10. DaHoss and Alyshebia(sp) joining the Budwiser Clydes in the festive games and fun, since they are older they will be BOUNCERS reporting directly to Rags2Riches.

11. sandieh: PHOTPGRAPHER

MDFANOFRACING  I think that Nicanor is the best man.  Ragsy can straightned all of that out.  As for the date. We were tossing that around all day yesterday.  We did think of the 29th but we thought that Memorial day would be more appropriate since it was a day to remember.  Although, you can be in charge of part of the honymoon if you want to.  They are going to be at the Breeders Cup in a Honeymoon suite stall.

Ragsy.  Yes since 2 timer put up such a nice post, then he/she can maybe do something as well.  I am OK with that.  As long as the posts continue to be nice. :)

We are still very un organized with the color coordernation.  I am thinking now since we know that Dynaformer was green and white that we should put LVD in a white wedding dress with a white vale and blue and green trim.  Also, Dynaformer white too.  The brides maides and all of those guys wear blue and green?  Oh man this is hard.  Who is the best at putting colors together?  Oh yeah and shoes.  What color should LVR's shoes be?  Dynaformer probably should wear black ones.  You know that man thing.

BABARO?  We need some imput from above. :) Love ya big guy.

As for all of the horses.  I think we should all list the horses that Dynaformer and LVR would want there.  This is their wedding and we don't want any horses there that they don't get a long with.  I'll start the list and you guys can add to it here and there and I'll just keep adding to it. LOL

Greg J.

That was great! LOL Now we sort of have an idea.  Loved that kiss LOL.  LVR and Dynaformers wedding is going to be much better though.  They will have all of the cool stuff. Thanks for the vid.

Music?  How about the song "Old Kentucky Home" to remember Barbaro?  Any imput there?

stardust 04 Mar 2009 10:32 AM

MDFANOFRACING

Hey the more the better.  This is a huge wedding.  It may make National news!  LOL.....  Keep the ideas coming.  :)

stardust 04 Mar 2009 11:01 AM

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!! After watching the new video that Greg posted, I realized, that we HAVE TO HAVE THE HOUNDS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can we have forgotten the hounds, shame on us! Someone in the Jacksons connections must have a foxhound or two?

I think they should both be in blue (as neither of them are virgins!)with white and green trim.

The hounds can pass the rings to/from the horses so no fingers will be lost!

"Old Kentucky Home" is good, how about "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy"?LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL I am losing it now? :-)Also, "Happy Trails To You"?

Pulpit would be good to perform the rituals, then Curlin can give LVR away!

horsenut23 04 Mar 2009 11:33 AM

horsenut

OK BLUE with white and green trim, I totally agree there.

The hounds!  How could we have forgotten that!  Shame on us!  We need some hounds.

Pulpit can be there but I still think that Curlin needs to perform the ritual.  If we start detering off of this we will have a double wedding cause you know Curlin and Rags will want to get married.  We can set one up for them later...

Save a Horse Ride A Cowboy is good but I still think Old Kentucky Home has that mellow tone to it.  :)  We will see how Ragsy and the rest feel about that :)

stardust 04 Mar 2009 12:09 PM

OK Up-date.  Go ahead and add whatever LOL.  I am saving this on a document LOL..............  :)

LVR and Dynaformers wedding so far.

1. Place of event: CHURCHILL DOWNS 12:00 NOON! Date: Memorial Day 2009.

2. Ring Bearer and carrying the carrots and apples: LENNTENOR & GIVEN US HOPE.

3. Flower baby: BABYNOR

4. GREEN - WHITE - BLUE Flowers

When they have the foals under control then they can watch movies about mares and foals, bonding, caretaking, club/4H stuff.

9. Sister RAGS TO RICHES to take care of the invitations and keep Curlin and everyone in line. :)

10. DaHoss and Alyshebia(sp) joining the Budwiser Clyde’s in the festive games and fun, since they are older they will be BOUNCERS reporting directly to Rags2Riches.

11. sandieh: PHOTPGRAPHER

12.  There will be FOXHOUNDS there that can pass the rings to/from the horses so no fingers will be lost!

13.  Colors for the LVR and Dynaformer BLUE with GREEN and WHITE Trim.

14.  Music “Old Kentucky Home” for the ceremony and then for the reception we can have a band of horses play Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy and other songs.

15.  We can throw oats instead of rice and LVR will KICK the bouquet not throw it.

We need to find 4 horses that can play in the band for the reception.  Who is going to play and sing Old Kentucky Home?  Barbaro will love this.  :)

If you guys are not OK with the above update then not a problem.  We can always alter things.  LOL

stardust 04 Mar 2009 1:00 PM

Dynaformer stated that Pulpit would be in a pit if you bring him along, Dynaformer is already getting that fire in his eyes and shaking his head at that suggestion, I do believe he is getting a bad attitude at that thought. hmmm, seems as though he had a fight with him over a young thing a couple of years ago and he has not forgotten, man you should see the fit he is throwing.....

Ragsy 04 Mar 2009 2:06 PM

Ragsy OK then Pulpit is not invited!  I am sure that Rags has that under control.  :)

We do not need to upset the groom before this wedding.  He is quite strong and can cause serious damage.

Sorry Pulpit.  Maybe next time.  Remember that fight with Dyanformer?  Well geeeeeesh you should at least tell him you're sorry.  LOL  It isn't that we don't love ya, it is just that you wouldn't be a good fit.  :)

Now on to the rest of the colors and the honeymoon.

stardust 04 Mar 2009 2:40 PM

sandieh;

what's with the number 7?

we can get 7 hounds,

7"couples" standing up

number 7 on racing blankets? (these would be white of course)

horsenut23 04 Mar 2009 4:05 PM

horsenut

We are banning some of the trolls from even being at the clean up.  Some of them shouldn't even be near these horses.  So we have to pick our trolls.  I know of two that are OUT!  LOL

7 foxhounds?  OK well we can start making calls. :)

stardust 04 Mar 2009 4:32 PM

stardust;

I read the stuff on the other blog, I still think they can be in cleanup with the" Bud Clys" to watch over them. We can give them blk/wht pinstripes suits to wear- like the jail inmates wear! LOL

horsenut23 04 Mar 2009 4:45 PM

what are the trolls up to now? just cant trust them at all dang!

7 is Brother Barbaro's heavenly number now and he does like at least 3 in a row...

Ragsy 04 Mar 2009 4:53 PM

I wouldn't even let 2timer clean the Stalls!!!!!!,  But this wedding puts a smile on my face !

Greg J. 04 Mar 2009 4:54 PM

Stardust- Horsenut- Greg J.

wouldnt you rather have Rags watch over the trolls, the clyds are so sweet and loving, but Rags2Riches can really be b----y when pushed just sooo far!!that beaautiful chestnut filly sooon to be a mommy...2

Ragsy 04 Mar 2009 5:09 PM

If I were Dynaformer, I would be more worried about randy young mister Curlin, then i would Pulpit. There is not a horse out there more aptly named to perform a ceremony, and he is already wearing a dark suit. The Young man's a natural.

Now, is Stardom Bound gonna be there to catch the bouquet, or does being engaged to Big Brown preclude her from those festivities?

MDFANOFRACING 04 Mar 2009 5:16 PM

Speakin of Rag's,  I really do love her, I thought she was the greatest filly alive for beating Curlin since I was never a big fan of his. I can't wait to see Rag's Causeway baby. Im sure it will be a gorgeous, red chestnut with lots of white trim.

MDFANOFRACING 04 Mar 2009 5:23 PM

I think Stardom Bound would be a welcome addition and that Brother Curlin does have an eye for that beauty La Ville Rouge.  Mr. Big Brown is indeed going to escort Stardom and we must protect her from Dynaformer because he's somewhat distressed by her choice...after all, could it mean if she does not catch the bouquet, she cant be matched to Mr. Big Brown? I wonder about his pedigree??

Ragsy 04 Mar 2009 5:36 PM

Wow this stuff is hilarious.  Smarty Jones should have a role somewhere in the wedding as well.  He can sign horses in at the reception.  He is my favorite horse.  Does anyone know how his colt Go Smarty Go is?  Is he going to race again sometime or did he get retired to stud.

KAM 04 Mar 2009 6:16 PM

MDFAN;

Stardom Bound should be at the Breeders Cup, and, since she isn't 'married' yet, she should catch the bouquet! LOL

I think Curlin should give LVR away and let Pulpit do the honors. This way, RAgs can keep a better eye on him!

Ragsy,Stasrdust, Greg;

i think it is okay to have the trolls do clean up. With ALL the horses, and hounds, they will be kept VERY busy. if worse comes to worst, we can always sick Dynaformer on them! He surely wouldn't want anyone to mess with his wedding, especially the trolls!

The Clyds' can just block off the escape routes ! LOL,LOL :-)

horsenut23 04 Mar 2009 7:16 PM

MDFANOFRACING, Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg J.

Stardum Bound most certainlly will be invited to this wedding after she wins the KD.  She is a beauty and there will be some stud eyes on her.

Yeah I agree with the jail suits sorta.

I also agree with Greg.  I wouldn't want those trolls anywhere near my horses.  What if they decided to jump on one at 6 months old or something to see if it's back was strong enough and broke it :(.

I believe that the trolls should be nowhere near this wedding.  Even cleaning the stalls is too high class for them.  We need loving people to do that.  We can ask Edgar to do it since he decided not to ride Nicanor this weekend LOLOLOL (kidding Edgar good luck with your race, we all love ya). :-)

No the trolls can do the pin strip things with shackels if you guys are OK with that.

I do think that Rags should watch over the trolls.  She won't let them touch her.  I talked to her today and she already told me that they love to cause trouble and that their mission in life is to make people un happy.  Rags told me that she would give them one swift kick if they got out of line AND she told me they were not allowed to touch her OR any of the horses OR take any picture.  She is being very strict.

Love you LVD and Dynaformer.  OK mom, we have your wedding completly under control.  You can have your baby and enjoy your birth.  I just can't wait.  Brother number 3.  This makes me smile.  You are one beautiful mare LVR and always will be.  Your son is watching you from heaven and has Angels all around you every second.  :)

stardust 04 Mar 2009 8:01 PM

Horsenut-Stardust-Md-Greg:

What everyone doesn't understand is the great friendship between Dynaformer and Curlin, they are great buds and if he does not preform the ceremony he ain't comming!!Dynaformer and La Ville

Rouge will elope instead.  Now, how's that grab yaaaa???

That big beautiful Dynaformer can really be rank if pushed on his decisions....he is beginning to think with all of this hullaballue(sp) he may just go get that mare on his own and forget the ceremony, he is saying I dont need your assistance I have all I need..

Dynaformer stated, I have got along well before I metcha, I will get along well withoutcha....

I must say this big boy is really getting testy about folks wanting to yank Brother Curlin and it won't be a wedding without him!!!

What is brother number 3??

Ragsy 05 Mar 2009 9:56 AM

KAM

OK I think your idea about Smarty Jones is great.

Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg J.  Are you guys all OK with that?

As for Pulpit and Curlin.  I think that Curlin should do the rituals.  We don't need Dynaformer and LVR running off to God knows where because Curlin got the boot.  They are good friends and so I think that Curlin should remain with the rituals. As for Pulpit, giving LVR away?

Hmmmmmm where is Nicanor in all of this.

Ragsy. Brother number three is in LVR's tummy.  Babynor.

Horsenut  OK I will go for this troll thing.  I want things to be very very strict!  No touching the horses.  No taking pictures of the horses.  In fact, the horses WILL NOT BE PRESENT  when the stalls are being cleaned.  The  Clyds' have to block off the escape routes because we don't want those trolls anywhere near anyone or any of our wonderful family.

What color are the brides maids going to wear?

I am confused about Nicanor.  Isn't he going to give LVR away?  Lentenor is going to carry the ring of apples and carrots and the hounds will have the halters.

Someone tell me what Nicanor is going to be doing.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 10:37 AM

Now, I have to go and cut up 5 trees that I have downed. I will check with you guys and gals later today.

bye,bye for now!

be nice to Brother Curlin Please and pretty please!!

Ragsy 05 Mar 2009 10:40 AM

Rouge will elope (Too funny Ragsy)!!!, Hey there Stardust, Ragsy, MDfan, Horsenut.....You know what, On the other post, I am now done responding to you know who, just a waste of time, If we all ignore him, he will just fade away, I cannot believe I even thought there was hope for that person after one somewhat positive comment, Anyways, Just hope Nic is safe (Really wishing for a win, though), This wedding plan is a great diversion from the negativity though, Thanks.....

Greg J. 05 Mar 2009 10:46 AM

Greg J.  I hear ya.  They are party crashers and only on that blog to start trouble with us.  Nothing more, nothing less.  People like that love to make hateful remarks.  It is in their nature.  They have to try to make everyone as miserable as they are.  Ain't working with me.  Dust in the wind.

I think Nicanor has a chance at this race but he is really up against a tough field.  As you probably know, Edgar is in the doghouse with me LOL!  I still love him as my favortie jockey but he is still in the doghouse. :)

This wedding is great.  We are still in need of a band for the wedding.  We need some horses to play in the band.  Also we need some arrangements for the honeymoon.  They are going to go to the Breeders Cup for their honeymoon and we are having a special suite stall built so they can watch the races from the front row from their suite?  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 12:04 PM

Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg, mdfan, KAM and the rest of the Barbaro Family.

We need to make a list of horses for the invitations.  How many horses should we have and how big of a wedding should this be?  :) LOL.

Who is going to make up the invitations and what will they look like?  :)

How much will the carrott cake weigh and what will it say?

Are we having fun yet?   :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 12:54 PM

Hey Stardust,

Don't forget Sky Mesa. He should be in good spirits with his indoor plumbing now in tip top order. Maybe he can keep Mr. Dynaformer in check before the vows.

Kathy 05 Mar 2009 1:25 PM

Kathy.  I put Sky Mesa on the list.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 1:46 PM

Feel free to put in your request for any other horses.  We have to make sure that they all get along.  We don't need studs fighting at this wedding.  My God that would ruin everything.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 1:51 PM

Kathy the VOWS!  How could any of us forget those???? LOLOLOL

Who wants to be in charge of that?  I had no idea that a wedding involved so much LOL!  This wedding is rockin so far.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 1:55 PM

Man how could I forget AP Indy.  My God he needs a part in this wedding too.  :)  Any ideas??????

stardust 05 Mar 2009 2:03 PM

Storm Cat too!!!  My O My we are really gonna have to make sure about these horses.  I think that Rags should be in charge of the final yay or nay on the horses.  SHE is one tough filly and can hold it together quite well.  I will toss all the names to her and if you guys know of any horses that don't get along then now is a good time to speak up.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 2:36 PM

Stardust/Ragsy/Greg/mdfan,etc...

Stardust, I thought YOU were doing the invites?

Bridesmaids can wear green with white accents

Wedding cake- THAT is where we put the 3 rows of 7, on the decorated top!

Curlin can be best man? Nic and Lentenor can bring the treats with Given Us Hope in the middle, followed by Babynor with the flowers, Given Us Hope's foal can join him.

I'll get back to ya on songs and a band later.

horsenut23 05 Mar 2009 3:25 PM

Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg, mdfan, KAM and the rest of the Barbaro Family.

Do you guys feel that the ceremony should be done by the statue of Barbaro?  I think that would be the perfect place and then the reception in the paddock (that is close enough to the kitchens and stuff to prepare all of the drinks and food).  What do ya all think?

stardust 05 Mar 2009 3:45 PM

horenut  How is Curlin suppose to do the rituals and be best man?

I'll do the invites.  I have to pass them through Rags to get her approval first.

Good idea on the cake!!!!!  Love that.  :)

stardust 05 Mar 2009 4:01 PM

Stardust;

we were going to have Pulpit marry them, so Curlin can be best man, then Given Us Hope can be maid of honor, Nic & Lentenor can do the rings(halters)

horsenut23 05 Mar 2009 4:33 PM

Stardust I thought with the new baby in the tummy  he or she would be number 4, we have Barbaro,Nicanor,Lentenor and babynor makes 4?

yes, close to the statue of mighty Barbaro.

Stardust Horsenut instead of horenut goodness just what do you mean.  ha,ha,ha do you know what that sounds like???

Better add Zenyatta because we are over the line with boys, goodness!!

Dyanformer heard that, lets not upset him anymore, or he is likely to go on his merry way forever more.

add for Nicanor, Mr. Fantasy( arnt we dreaming )and may as well add Dreaming Of Anna and I Want Revenge to horsey list if they can be included also Messaging

Nicanor is hinting I Want Revenge2

Ragsy 05 Mar 2009 5:14 PM

Just heart sick to see Storm In May has been entered to race 3-7-09, with no workouts since his last race..  so sad, wish someone could save him.. It worries me so for his safety.

God Bless Stormy!!!

Ragsy 05 Mar 2009 5:43 PM

Ragsy Geeeeeeeesh how could I have spelled that like that.  I am suprised Amanda didn't catch that one.  Sorry Horsenut.  :(  :(

These are not organized the way that Rags wants them yet.  I tried to catch her and she is being really b******.  So I am putting up the list and she can fine tune this when she comes down off her high horse. LOL

Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg, Kathy, MD and the FOB's working on this wedding.

I think that we are pretty close to the end of the wedding part of this.  We really need some mares though.  Hystarical Lady?  I don't think that it is a good idea to be inviting too many that are still racing.  You know they may be having their minds on things like crossing the wire first.  Rags will surly tell me yay and nay on that.

I finally just talked to her by the way and she told me that she was fully aware of the trolls and how they are being negative towards Nicanor and the FOB family.  She said that she has that under control.  She told me that she loves to get routy.  LOL.  Soooooo I totally trust that she will know just what to do if things start getting out of hand.  She did warn me too that they may try to sneak in and become a part of this wedding under different names so beware.  :)

We can work on the honeymoon after we get done with the wedding.

LVR we love you.

stardust 05 Mar 2009 9:01 PM

Ragsy:

I didn't even notice Stardust's mispelling of my name, but it is appropriate for what we're talking about isn't it? LOL, LOL :)

Evita Argentia should be added as long as we're looking to add more girls. We'll just have to watch that her and Stardom don't get into a fight!

I still haven't had a chance to think about names as I worked today, I'll get my thinking cap on.

horsenut23 05 Mar 2009 11:25 PM

Ragsy and all that are involved with this wedding.

Rags came and saw me tonight and told me that she wanted to nominate Panty Raid to take off the Garder.  I spoke with LVR and Dynafomer and they think that is a great idea!!  A couple of the other studs had some things to say but I can't post them LOL.  Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

Love ya Barbaro.

stardust 05 Mar 2009 11:50 PM

"My Old Kentucky Home" sung at Aqueduct?  That just won't work.

SL 06 Mar 2009 5:01 AM

stardust and ragsy, i still want to be photographer. we need a bouquet with baby apples, baby carrots and mints. and of course, all of our equine angels will be watching. barbaro, darling, you must be so proud of your family, as we are of you. i wish roy and gretchen could see this blog, they must know how deeply we are in love with this horsey family.

sandieh 06 Mar 2009 9:06 AM

Stardust guess what?  Dynaformer has rejected the wedding:  due to Brother Curlin being demoted from preforming the ceremony and he aint comming, he and the little lass are going somewhere else, maybe Lael Stables,

no Brother Curlin doing the rituals, no wedding, duh, duh, what in world is wrong with that??

seems something smelley going on here!!!!

horsey list is growing and growing..

Ragsy 06 Mar 2009 11:08 AM

Ragsy, AGREE 100 Percent, Storm in May should be retired, It is a Shame that they still race him, He is blind in his right eye, has basically tried to say "Enough , I don't want to race anymore", NOBODY is listening to him, THIS WILL BE HIS 4TH RACE SINCE 1/3/9 !, The last two were claimers, It is TERRIBLE, There should be some kind of oversight to this in the industry, I am afraid something terrible will happen !, ALSO, Stardust and everyone, This wedding is great, don't listen to the Negativity, Read my post on Imagination on other blog, It says it all......Go Nicanor & Be safe Storm in May....

Greg J. 06 Mar 2009 11:13 AM

sandieh.  I am sure Roy and Grethen see these blogs.  They are very much part of the FOB family.  THEY created it.  :)

Ragsy.  I am scared to death about Stormy too.  Geeeeeeesh.

I''ll add Evita Argentia to the list.  :)

Where is that baby LVR?  I wonder if she is wating for the wedding plans to be finished.  I keep on telling her that we have this under control.  Love ya girl.

They are getting married at Churchill for the idiots that can't read the whole story.  :)

stardust 06 Mar 2009 11:28 AM

Ragsy, While you were at work today, i thought of some ladies who deserve an invite.  Zenyatta, Proud Spell, Ventura, Laragh, Precious Kitten, another Jackson horse who they are breeding to Street Cry, Peppers Pride, i love that they are sending her to Tiznow. All well deserving ladies.

There is a filly, who's name I love. But, I havent heard anything about her for a while. If anyone knows anything about these her please let me know. Her name is Cry And Catch Me. She was trained by Bob Baffert and won the 2007 Oak Leaf..then she scratched from the Breeders Cup race she was entered in. She was sick, running a temp. After that I lost track of her. Im assuming they have retired her but would still like to know.

One more thing, LVR, enough already ! my nails are nubs. Get busy woman !

MDFANOFRACING 06 Mar 2009 12:18 PM

Figures, as soon as I mention Cry And Catch Me I see she had a work out on 03/05 at santa anita after a year of nothing. Good for her, she is a really nice filly.

MDFANOFRACING 06 Mar 2009 12:26 PM

So, has she had the foal yet??

If she's due in Febuary...

any update??

Thanks

xmrsxmansonx 06 Mar 2009 12:55 PM

I have read every day waiting for the birth. If she was due on 2/21 give or take she is now 14 days over. Wouldn't it be great if Nicky performs great on the same day his mom foals? (March 7,2009)?

Keeping fingers crossed.

the weddings at Churchill downs, not Aqueduct :)

horsenut23 06 Mar 2009 6:21 PM

Ragsy.

I said three  brothers cause I was thinking of Barbaro and his three brothers.  You are right there are 4 brothers al-together but I was just thinking of Barbaro and the other three.  :)  Pretty soon I hope he has 2 sisters.

stardust 06 Mar 2009 10:32 PM

Greg J.

Did you see Seattle Slew and Secretariat run in the 70's?

stardust 06 Mar 2009 10:34 PM

Ragsy

What do you mean Dynaformer is rejecting this wedding.  This is really starting to get on my nerves.  Does he have a clue how hard these horses are working on this?  This is all for him and LVR.  What is the matter with him?  He needs to be spoken to. I think I'll send Rags over to straighten him out.

stardust 07 Mar 2009 5:05 PM

Are we there yet?  :)  I am putting Wait A While in charge of the organization of this wedding.  Things need to be in order.  She is good at that.

What's up with the user name?  Are you related to a Manson?  :)

stardust 07 Mar 2009 5:09 PM

Rags had better straighten out Dynaformer, the rest of us have put in waay to much time and effort for him to cancel out!

Doesn't Curlin WANT to give LVR away? Tell them all to settle down, Nic's race is over, they can relax now!

horsenut23 07 Mar 2009 6:32 PM

horsenut  I have no idea what is wrong with Dynaformer.  He is being a pill but I'll be talking to Rags tonight and she can tell me what is going on geeeeeeeesh!

stardust 07 Mar 2009 7:40 PM

horsenut23

You spoke too soon over on the other blog LOL.  Some people just can't be positive for the life of them.    LOLOLOL

stardust 07 Mar 2009 7:47 PM

Horsenut,Stardust,Greg J. and all:

Curlin wants to do the marriage vows and Dynaformer wants him to also, they are just the greatest... Both of them..  Way to go Nicanor!!!!what a joy you are big guy....smooch,smooch,smooth...I watched the race and was so happy for a show....I see Stardust Barbaro and the 3 brothers. okey,dokey..

Storm was last to day and it was a 75,000. claimer...May God Bless him...he is not injured thankfully.

Now, mama mia, please have the baby!!!dont be a ihen nadelkopt....

Ragsy 07 Mar 2009 7:52 PM

MDFAN, I thought her name was Try And Catch Me, I have seen that horse and she is verry pretty...

Ragsy 07 Mar 2009 8:00 PM

Ragsy and Horsenut

I just talked to Rags and she told me that Dynaformer is really stuck on Curlin doing the rituals.  He is pawing at the ground and digging a hole.  He is really upset about this and Rags said that she tried to calm him down and she had a hard time.  She said that there is some special bond with Dynaformer and Curlin and he wants Curlin to do the cerimony.  I think we need to adjust this.  We don't want him getting cold hooves now do we.  :)

Geeeeeeesh just when things start looking like they are under control, he has to go and pull this stunt.  He also said that he is REALLY gonna keep an eye on Pulpit during all of this because of the incident that happened before.  If Pulpit would just break down and say he is sorry.

What do you all think?  If Rags can't get anywhere with him, I don't know if any of us can.  She was snortin at him and pinned her ears back when she was talking to him.  She is not very happy about this.

stardust 07 Mar 2009 8:26 PM

Greg J.

your comment on immagination is suberb, you just told it like it is!!!Good for you, and thank you.....

Love you Nicanor!! and all of the brothers.....Nicky is sooo much better this run whooppeee...

Ragsy 07 Mar 2009 8:29 PM

Ragsy I am glad Stormy is OK.  Why do people do this?  When the horse doesn't want to race, why in the hell do people put them on the track.  THOSE are the types that should be banned from racing.  Poor horse.  :-(  He has his way of telling humans things and they won't listen.

I will talk to Rags later.  I think that Dynaformer is getting his way.  As always. LOL!

Nicanor did really well today.  I think he needed another furlong.  Way to go Nicky!!!  Love you soooooooooooooo much.....

stardust 07 Mar 2009 8:29 PM

Dynaformer can really be a bad a-- just guess, he is made that way..and cant be changed.  Some say Rags has the same disposition. Oh well, the wedding must go on.  thrills and frolicking around...

Nicky did really well today, yes he did.. another f and he would have won the race.

Ragsy 07 Mar 2009 8:53 PM

Hooraay for Nicky....Finished 2nd. And in the lead most of the way. What a way to go. I just watched the video.

BigMommaHorseLover 07 Mar 2009 9:08 PM

Dynaformer is doing his controlling thing, just leave him be for now. We can talk to Pulpit, and we can just have TWO "preachers" if they want. Maybe Curlin is wanting to wed Rags in a double ceremony and that is why Dynaformer is being such a snot?

I wish somebody with some money could buy Stormy and get him off the track! :(

horsenut23 07 Mar 2009 9:12 PM

I wondered how long it would be before I saw the name "Wait a While"

Concerned Fan 07 Mar 2009 9:24 PM

OK Ragsy, Horsenut, Greg J.  MD and sandieh & TRUE FOB's.

I just talked to Rags again.  Geeeeeeeeesh she woke me up.  This is the deal.  The reason that Dynaformer and Curlin are going through this is all about a wager.  Yup the horses are betting 10 million against the wedding.

If Curlin does to the rituals, then all of the horses have to caugh up 10 million dollars to throw into the Barbaro Fund.  So this whole thing is over a bet.  LOL!

Yeah Rags finally just told Curlin and Dynaformer that they win this because they are not in this for the money. The love each other :).  I think that from how Rags is sounding, things are under control with the rituals.  NOW Pulpit gonna be the best man?

Goooooooooo Nicanor!!!!  We love ya....

stardust 07 Mar 2009 10:37 PM

I hope that ole Dynaformer doesnt step on Pulpits hoofee, if he does the fight will be on, then who will step in and stop that fight.  Guess, Perfect Drift will since he is a daddy's boy, goodness, he may even help his daddy!  Boy, what a mess that would be... that would stop the wedding for sure...

Nicanor I sure do love you sweety pie.....

Ragsy 08 Mar 2009 11:45 AM

horsenut23

Maybe we can raise the money to get Stormy off the track.  Makes me just as mad as it does you.  People like that are down right not human in my eyes.  Poor horse.  He doesn't want to run!!!!!

As for this double wedding with Rags and Curlin oh no.  That would just be way too much work.  Rags told me that she doesn't want to marry Curlin right now anyway.  She is going to make him prove himself to her before he can have her hoof in marriage.  She is going to get any stud she wants so she can be very selective.

I think that she has Dynaformer toned down.  I called up Wait A While last night and asked her to please help Rags (as they both have that AP Indy bloodline in them) with this situation with Dynaformer.  He is really starting to get on my nerves.  All he could do yesterday was b**** about all of the trolls that are putting down his son Nicanor and he wants a half hour with each of them in a paddock.  He is very disturbed that ANYONE would have the guts to put down one of HIS.  Boy does that make him snort and pin back those ears!

This wedding will continue.  I don't see any more horses on the list you guys.  Wait A While is waiting for more names to add to the guest list for this wedding. LOL

Love all the FOB's.  Oh yeah now we are a cult! LOL  The FOB cult.  Wonder what Grethen thinks of that one hahahahahahahahaha.  That would mean she is the head of it.  Sorry Gretchen. Some people are just nerds.  Don't mind them.  They don't count.  :)

stardust 08 Mar 2009 12:31 PM

MD  do you want Cry And Catch Me  at the wedding? :)

stardust 08 Mar 2009 1:41 PM

UP-DATE ON THE WEDDING. Feel free to add your horses and I will run it by Rags2Riches.

Ragsy,Horsenut, Greg J and FOB's.  It is decided that CURLIN WILL perform the cerimony.  Dynaformer is getting his way.  He will not have it any other way. :)  Rags did the best she could and although Pulpit can be the best man it is under the condition that he tells Dynaformer that he is very sorry for his actions.  :)

LVR and Dynaformers wedding so far.

6. Ring Bearer and carrying the carrots and apples:  LENNTENOR & GIVEN US HOPE.

7.  GIVEN US HOPE:  Maid of Honor

13.  FOB kids: Charge of the foals! When they have the foals under control then they can watch movies about mares and foals, bonding, caretaking, club/4H stuff.

14. Sister RAGS TO RICHES to take care of the invitations and keep CURLIN and everyone in line. :)

15.  SANDIEH:  Photographer

16.  There will be foxhounds there that can pass the rings to/from the horses so no fingers will be lost!

17.  DaHoss and Alyshebia(sp) joining the Budwiser Clyde’s in the festive games and fun, since they are older they will be BOUNCERS reporting directly to Rags2Riches.

18.  We can throw oats instead of rice and LVR will KICK the bouquet not throw it.

19.  PANTY RAID will take off the garter!

20.  WAIT A WHILE  will be in charge of putting all of this in an organized fashion.

21.  Clean up: TROLLS and that is all they get to do. ;-) No touching the horses. No taking pictures of the horses. In fact, the horses WILL NOT BE PRESENT when the stalls are being cleaned. The Clyds' have to block off the escape routes because we don't want those trolls anywhere near anyone or any of our wonderful family.

All that Pulpit needs to do is aplogize to Dynaformer.  He won't do it though.  That horsey ego.  That sure would calm things down. LOL.  Rags has things under control.  She isn't putting up with this nonsense anymore.  She is also going to give a swift kick to unwanted humans that are anti Nicanor and FOB's.  She is tired of the negativity.  She is ready to do some of her own therapy.  :)

stardust 08 Mar 2009 2:40 PM

How about "twitches" to use on the trolls at the wedding, maybe they'll keep their mouths shut! LOL

Stardust;

are we looking for either mares/fillies and/or horses/colts?

how come Chelokee isn't on the list?

Have you checked out the blog about the "miracle" foal yet?

horsenut23 08 Mar 2009 2:42 PM

Woops.  I will have to add the baby carrotts and apples for the little ones.  Glad I caught that. :)

stardust 08 Mar 2009 2:45 PM

I don't really think that the trolls even deserve to do the clean up.  THAT is even too good for those losers.  I just talked to Rags and she has had it.  She said that if those trolls come near this wedding, she will kick all of them once really hard and they won't be able to talk anymore.  She is done!  She cannot stand those trolls and all of the horses feel the same way.

Wait A While did a poll.  Every single horse told Wait A While that they did NOT want trolls and anti-Nicanor, Lentenor and Barbaro family members there at all.  I think that maybe the trolls need to stay home with mommy and daddy.  They are probably too young to be around horses anyway and if they were given a shovle God knows what they may do with it.  Hurt the horses?  I wouldn't put it past any of them.

No I haven't seen the mirical foal.  AMANDA?  Where is it? :)

I'll add Chelokee to the list.  I can't believe he is not on there.  Geeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.  Better do it before Rags finds out.  LOL

stardust 08 Mar 2009 6:48 PM

horsenut.  Any horses that any of us feel should be at the wedding. There is no restrictions.  The only thing I need to do is give the horses name to Rags and she makes the final decision.  ANY horse can come to the wedding.  :)

stardust 08 Mar 2009 6:50 PM

Greg J.

Don't even bother responding to those incompetent trolls.  They are negative, full of hate and jealous.  They do not warrent a response from any of the FOB's and certainlly not anyone in the family.  They are no better than the worst of the worst at Concordan in CA.  That is bad.  Really really bad.  In-humane jerks that care about nothing but themselves.  LOL  I think there is a word for that.  Nuts?  Narcacistic?  Something along those lines.  We love our Barbaro and all of the horses that are in the circle.  Win or lose who the hell cares.  They have the fame already marked before they are even born.  :)

Have FUN and God Bless all.....

Ragsy 09 Mar 2009 12:41 PM

Ragsy.

I hear ya.  Some people thrive on being negative and all they want is to make everyone as miserable as they are.  You are welcome to come back and re join the wedding at anytime.  It is pretty much finished anyway.  I am sure LVR is going to pop any day now.

When you consider the ugly comments, consider the source.  That should make you feel better.  They are horrible people with a black heart.  That's all.  :)  God Bless you too...    :)

stardust 09 Mar 2009 1:40 PM

Greg J.,Horsenut

Poor Ragsy.  She is hurt.  People have been really down on her.  For what?  I have not a clue.  There are some really mean people in this world.  Ragsy we love ya and we know you love Barbaro and the TRUE FOB's.  Nothing Else Matters.  :)

stardust 09 Mar 2009 1:54 PM

Ragsy;

I hope you'll join us again when Babynor appears! Just take a rest from here, then return when you've refreshed yourself emotionally. Once we have more action with Nic and Lentenor, AND we get closer to the Derby, the negative posts will disappear.

God Bless

stardust 10 Mar 2009 1:58 PM

Hope u r feeling better stardust., I still cannot figure out why Rockland hasn't worked out since Jan. 31 !!!, It is getting frustrating, Just hope he is alright.....

Greg J. 10 Mar 2009 2:03 PM

Greg J.  Maybe Amanda knows.  Do you know Amanda why Rockland hasn't worked out since the 31rst?  Is he injured?  :(  I hope not.

stardust 10 Mar 2009 4:11 PM

Greg J.

I have a really good idea with these trolls.  I am doing this from now on.  I should have kept my mouth shut but from now on, they don't exist.  I don't need negativity in my life.  Enough of that on the news.  :)

We do need to find some other people to do the clean ups.  Trolls are not going anywhere near this wedding and Rags put her hoof down HARD on that one.  None of the horses want them there.  That is about the only thing we need to change.  Then we can sit back a wait for Babynor.  :)  Oh yeah more horses to the list too.

stardust 10 Mar 2009 4:21 PM

I have asked before, I trust Amanda will post any info about Rockland when she knows.

Well, That is a Relief, Thanks Amanda....

Greg J. 10 Mar 2009 5:00 PM

Thanks Amanda about Rockland.

Greg J.  I'll watch that later.  I don't feel like crying right now

:(  You are so right.  Make EACH DAY COUNT!  Never know if it may be your last.  Good way to live.  Life is suppose to be happieness and joy.  Not strife and hate.  At least for me, I try to be happy and have a sense of humor.  It is so much better than being bitter.  When I see people in my everyday world that are bitter, I think to myself "why in the world is this person doing this to themselves?"

Life is hard sometimes and we all have our ups and downs but hey that is life.  We hold each other up when we lose people and horses like Barbaro.  If I hadn't had the FOB's to be around on that horrible day, I would have lost it.  I am 4-ever greatful that there is a group so strong as this family.  They have gotten me some pretty rough times. We go through all of it together because Barbaro brought out "the best" in each and every one of us.  I don't know of ANY other horse that has been able to do that.  He is so special.  He will always always have a huge piece of my heart as his siblings and mom and dad.  Just no way around that one.  :)

stardust 10 Mar 2009 5:28 PM

Stardust,Greg J,Horsenut:

I will do the clean up, schedule that as completed....I love all of the Jackson Brothers, sorry that I had a minor setback.... Thanks to all that love the Brothers....

Ragsy 10 Mar 2009 6:23 PM

We should also invite Giants Causeway's mother Mariah's Storm, Cigar, Distorted Humor, Rachel Alexandra, Vertigineux Zenyatta's mother, Elusive Quality and Kingmamboo as well.

KAM 10 Mar 2009 7:03 PM

I don't know if anybody posted this but what about inviting Dynaformer's and LVR's parents. Dynaformer's parents are Roberto (father) and Andover Way (mother). I did not find LVR's parents though.  I did not have time to look.

KAM 10 Mar 2009 7:14 PM

Greg J.

I talked to Rags and she told me that she wanted Rockland to help Smarty with signing everyone in.  She said something about Rockland has a good sense when it comes to weddings and how to keep things going smoothly.  As we all know, it is her final call LOL!

stardust 10 Mar 2009 7:47 PM

Stardust,Greg J., Horsenut:

Barbaro is the reason that I came to this site, its love of him that highlighted this site....because when one falls in love, if its true, it will never falter..and, it never has to date.

Ragsy 10 Mar 2009 7:52 PM

stardust:

Rags had her foal Monday, it is a filly! Congrats to Rags and all her connections!!

This means she'll be able to attend the wedding! Now, it is LVR's turn, maybe on the 11th?

horsenut23 11 Mar 2009 12:25 AM

Ragsy, Welcome Back!

horsenut23 11 Mar 2009 9:47 AM

Greg J. 11 Mar 2009 10:32 AM

A new sweet baby to watch growing-up, another baby brother to sweet Barbaro, the love of my life..I will never forget you sweet one...God, is great to us.

Ragsy 11 Mar 2009 10:53 AM

Ragsy welcome back.  I know it is hard to deal with things sometimes and we totally understand.  Are you sure you want to do the clean up?

KAM.  I'll talk to Rags and get those horses on the list.

Greg J.  Don't you think there should be a place for baby Rags here too?  I am so proud of both of those mares.  One day and the next day.  How cool is THAT!  I'll go and get the wedding and bring over an up-date.  :)

Congrats LVR I am so happy for you.  I bet you feel soooooooooo much better. :)

Horsenut.  I am so happy about this baby, I don't know if I can get any work done today.  Pictures!!!!!!  AMANDA????????? :)

stardust 11 Mar 2009 11:35 AM

There once was a horse named: Hoof Hearted, I read an article about him and could never find out what happened to him.  The name is a strange one though..and a tongue twister indeed.

List of horses so far.  Wait A While needs a while to put these in the right order.  LOL

Ragsy 11 Mar 2009 12:07 PM

Ragsy.  You sure about that?  I am OK with that but if you need to get caught up on some bills and stuff with this economy, I totally understand.  If you want to donate the full million to the Barbaro fund that is fine and and wonderful of you.  Maybe Dean Richardson can find a cure for the deadly L with that million.  Thanks Ragsy for being soooooooooooo generious with your money.

I talked to Barbaro and he told me to give you lots of horsey hugs and kisses and tell you thank you from the bottom of is big heart.  He wants his freinds to all be happy healthy horses.  :)

stardust 11 Mar 2009 1:34 PM

Ragsy.  How is this?

21.  Clean up:   Ragsy.  She will make sure all of the horses are very well loved and spend all kinds of time with them when they are in their stalls and paddocks.  She is very good with horses so she will have the honors of escorting all of the horses to their proper places and if one or two of them need to be ridden, she will ride them.  She will also have reign of the entire wedding.  She will be paid 1 million dollars which she wants to donate to the Barbaro fund  (that is what I call loving and generous).   With this much love the horses will have a wonderful time with her and her duties.   She is the best with horses so this is something that the horses will love.  She can keep all of them happy with however she chooses to do it.

Rags is so pleased that you want to give all of this money to the Barbaro fund.  She told me that she would take you for a long trail ride to see some beauty.  She also told me that she would be very mellow with you on her back. :)

stardust 11 Mar 2009 1:39 PM

Ragsy, you're so generous no wonder the horses love you! I'd give anything to have Rags give me a trail ride! :)

Whewww, wouldnt a ride on Rags be something or for that matter any of them...oh my what a treat...

Ragsy 11 Mar 2009 2:23 PM

horsenut

Do you want me to ask Rags to give you one too?  She feels a lot better today since she had her baby.  She was really snippy there for awhile but I noticed today when I talked to her, she has a totally different tone and attitude.  I think that she is really releaved and she so loves her little girl.  Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh picture perfect.  :)

You can chose another horse if you want to.  Rags told me that everyone that is participating in this wedding gets to go on long trail rides.  Pick your horse guys and gals. :)

stardust 11 Mar 2009 2:40 PM

Greg J.

That was great!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.  Love to laugh and that one did it for me today.  Thanks.   :)

Ragsy since you are doing the cleanup, you get to ride all of them.  Man the cleanup sounds better than everything else now that I think about it.  Lucky girl.  :)

stardust 11 Mar 2009 3:51 PM

Suggestion for all involved with the wedding. How about Barbaro, Eight Belles and Secrearat being the Arc angels over the wedding to make sure it's a heavenly day for all? Love this wedding planning. Hopefully it will keep us happy till we have pictures of both the new baby horses. I know Barbaro is very proud of his new brother.

My granddaughter and I will be visiting the Barbaro Memorial site at Church Hill Downs in June. She is only 9 but has been a Barbaro fan ever since she saw him run in the Kentucky Derby. She sent him a Christmas card that she drew herself and do you know that Gretchen Jackson sent her a personally written post card to thank her. She was blown away to get it since she knew how many people sent their Christmas wishes to Barbaro. They are wonderful people. Hope this new little one does as well as all his other his brothers. He has a lot of love that he doesn't even know about, yet. Hope LVR continues to do well also.

Love reading about this wedding.

Lou 11 Mar 2009 5:18 PM

stardust;

I'll get back to you on WHO I would like a trail ride on!Thanks!

Greg;

That was pretty funny, sure didn't sound like his name looks! :) Definitely sounds like something one of my boys would call him!

horsenut23 11 Mar 2009 5:25 PM

Greg J.: indeed it is too funny, but what happened to that horse.  Hoof Hearted is sure handsome. It just blows my mind hearing that from the pa system...

We are getting ice overnight and thats ugly...

Ragsy 11 Mar 2009 7:03 PM

Greg J.

I think that all of those trolls are the same person.  I also think that that person is overly obsessed with me for some sick reason.  WOW.  I am an FOB.  Doesn't make me an expert in horse racing.  Far from it, although I have hit some pretty hefty wagers and subscribe to bloodhorse (mostly for the pictures) :)  Geeeeeeeeeesh why can't people grow up and act like they have at least a little bit of intelligence.  Maybe they are mad at me cause I am one that is helping to make the rules stricter for the saftey of the horses.  I care about the horses.  The hell with the money and the wagering.  Horse comes first.  Boy am I glad I don't deal with these idiots first hand.

stardust 11 Mar 2009 9:48 PM

Lou:

lovely story about your granddaughter, Jacksons seem to be very kind and considerate people, which everyone has witnessed with Barbaro's plight/fight! Welcome to the wedding blog, it has kept our spirits up when things get a little crazy on the other blogs! :)

horsenut23 12 Mar 2009 9:51 AM

horsenut23

I am being attacked AGAIN at the other blogs.  This person or persons are totally obessesed with me.  It is almost scary. I don't know what it is that I have done to make myself so famous.

Greg J.  I am done responding to the Trolls!

Lou.  Great idea.  I think that we should throw Seattle Slew in there though.  He was the almight number one sire of the century.  Whatcha think?  :)

This wedding brings me joy when there is negativity on the other blogs too.  Those people must really have mental issues.

stardust 12 Mar 2009 11:07 AM

22.  The wedding will be flooded with the love of the Arc Angels Barbaro, Eight Belles, Secretariat and Seattle Slew.  They will be on their cloud watching over everyone and all of the horses to make sure that everything runs smoothly.

They also are going to make sure that this wedding is a Heavenly Day.  :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 11:11 AM

Lou

Roy and Gretchen Jackson are the best!  I'll never forget the night that Gretchen asked the Fans of Barbaro to help with the HR503 on National TV.  We really took that to heart and we did it!  I adore that woman and her generosity.  They have shared their horses with us and made their horses our horses.  It is an act of God there.  Wonderful people they are.  I will forever be greatful that they are sharing their horses with us because we get to watch them grow up, race, not race, on and on.   Hats off to the Jacksons.  The most wonderful horse owners on Earth. :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 11:47 AM

Stardust some folks just are not nice. who/where? is being mean to you??

Lets not forget Lentenor

How True, Great Article on Bloodhorse:

cs.bloodhorse.com/.../Putting-the-Horse-First_3F00_.aspx

Greg J. 12 Mar 2009 1:28 PM

Greg J

I have read that.  That is really a good article.

Ragsy.

Same trolls that have been messing with me and others on Nicanors blogs.  They are totally obsessed with my life.  I owe them nothing.  Some of these idiots have posted pictures of themselves all over the place.  I don't know what it is about me that they are so obsessed with.  I really don't care LOL.  They are NOT invited to the wedding and Rags told me that she wants them no where near Churchill Downs.  She and all of the horses are sick and tired of them.  You should hear all of these horses complaining to me.  I am getting phone calls from all of them and they are just sick and tired of people putting down the Barbaro Family.

Rags told me that she wanted you to ride her a few times before the trail ride so you guys can get used to each other.  Wait A While is waiting for everyone to pick their horse for that trail ride too.  I'll have mine in a while.  I am thinking Precious Kitten.  :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 2:07 PM

Stardust

Sorry, I should have thought about Seattle Slew. Of course he should be there. Let's just say all the Arc angels horses from above are invited that way we don't leave anyone out. I think they will all enjoy the wedding.

It sure is hard being patient waiting for pictures but I know they will do what's best for them both. That's all that matters. Horses first!!!!

Mr granddaughter has a print of Barbaro framed and hanging over her bed. She's following the brothers to. She has a notebook full of memories of Barbaro and has started one for Nic and Lentenor. Think I'm going to have to buy her some notebooks so she can start one for our new Babynor. She keeps me busy printing any and everything from online about the brothers. So glad she loves horses. My daughter did to. Hope everyone has a great day.

Lou 12 Mar 2009 2:09 PM

Greg J.

Read that article, left a small comment just to let people know someone else agrees w/them.

Ragsy 12 Mar 2009 3:12 PM

Lou

So glad to hear about your GD and the love she has for this wonderful family of horses and people.  She is sure with the right group of loving and caring people.  I don't think that anywhere there is anyone as compassionate about horses as the Fans of Barbaro.  That horse changed things 4-ever.  He is truly amazing.  :)

I'll try to figure out a way to put all of the Arc Angels in the wedding.  They all need to be there.  You are right.  Ruffian and so many more that are over that rainbow bridge.  Of course there has to be quite a few clouds for them to all stand or sit on. LOL but I am sure that will be arranged.  :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 3:21 PM

stardust;

the trolls are just instigators, don't reply to them.

I'll have a trail ride on Chelokee, if I may.:)

horsenut23 12 Mar 2009 3:22 PM

horsenut23

Chelokee it is  :).  So far on this trail ride we have.

1.  Rags2Riches --- Ragsy

2.  Horsenut ---  Chelokee

3.  Stardust ---  Nicanor :) do I dare?  LOL

Greg and Lou and the rest of you.  Pick your horse when you can.  :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 3:47 PM

Do you think I dare ride Curlin or Big Brown? They may be more than I can handle. How about Zenyatta. Guess I missed out on the trail ride discussion, where are we going and when?

Lou 12 Mar 2009 9:12 PM

Lou

Since you came up with the idea of the Arc Angels, would you mind signing a horse to be in charge of the Arc Angels?  There has to be some organization there.  Seattle Slew will try to come down here and eat everything at the wedding so there has to be some control with those Heavenly horses.  I know they are all running around and pain free and this and that but there still has to be ONE horse in charge of the rest of them.  If you want to, I welcome the idea of you picking the horse to organize everything on the clouds.  Your idea of the Arc Angels is wonderful.  I am really happy that you decided to become a part of this wedding.

All of us have had good ideas and back and forth shuffling to decide what to do and it has taken weeks for us to get this right.  It is nice to have a diversion to make one smile and laugh while waiting for things.  First it was Babynor and now the pics.  Your kids are coming too right?  :)

stardust 12 Mar 2009 9:58 PM

Greg J.:

Its a miracle is that the colt in the heartwarming story???

Ragsy 13 Mar 2009 11:11 AM

LVR's parents are Carson City and La Reine Rouge.  Carson City is no longer with us so he can join us from heaven.  I think don't La Reine Rouge is either.

KAM 13 Mar 2009 2:51 PM

Dynaformer's parents will join us from heaven too.

KAM 13 Mar 2009 2:52 PM

I want to ride WaitAWhile.

Christy 14 Mar 2009 12:07 PM

Christy.  That would be OK but I chose not to ride her because she is pregnant.  You have to chose a horse that isn't.  She was my first choice too and when I remembered she was preg, I had to change horses.  Rags told me that we can't ride preg mares.  Pick another horse.  :)

stardust 15 Mar 2009 4:40 PM

Christy if you like Grays, why not Stardum Bound?  She will be at the wedding with Big Brown.  She said she would love to have you ride her.

Lou.  Curlin or Big Brown is fine.  Pick one.  We are going on a trail ride and I don't know for sure where yet cause Rags is in charge of that.  :)

stardust 15 Mar 2009 4:43 PM

Lou.  We are going on the trail ride after we get LVR and Dynaformer off to their honymoon.  This was Rags2Riches idea.  She is the one that is in charge of the trail ride.  As I told Christy, the only thing that we cannot do is ride a pregnant mare.  Any other horse is fine.   That is why I didn't chose Wait A While LOL :)

I wanted to ride her too and Rags freaked out and said no way.  She is in foal and we can't take her cause we may be gone a few days.

stardust 15 Mar 2009 4:46 PM

Stardust

Maybe you could ask Barbaro if he'd like to be in charge of the Arc Angel horses. He is very strong and determined as we all know. I'm sure there are some Clydedales up there to that would would be proud to help. Hopefully they will all behave themselves, after all this is a family wedding.

I told my granddaughter about this site and when she's at my house next(this Wed. evening) see wants to see and read about the wedding.

We have about gotten everything decided about for our trip to Kentucky. We're really getting excited. Especially to see the Barbaro Memorial. I'll probably cry for I usually do when I read about him. It still hurts.

Today is Nicanor's 3rd birthday(15th)...HAPPY BIRTHDAY pretty boy. At last you are really 3.

Maybe we'll see pictures soon of Babynor. I'm ready for another update on Lentenor to.

Sorry Amanda, I'm trying to be patient. I'm not critizing you at all. You're doing a great job keeping us posted. What would we do with out you? Many, many thanks.

Lou 15 Mar 2009 7:49 PM

Hey everyone in the wedding that hasn't picked their horse.  Rags told me that when you do pick your horse to make sure it is a horse that is either not in foal (if a mare).  She doesn't want any mishaps on the trail ride.

She asked me to consult with Ragsy and Horsenut and Greg and Lou about where you guys want to go on the trail ride.  She said that we will need sleeping bags and tents and all the camping stuff.  Apparently she is planning a few days of a trail ride.

Not sure what horse she is deciding to put as the one to carry everything.  She may use a couple of them.  I just wanted for you guys to all know that mares in foal are out.  I wanted to ride Wait A While and she threw a fit!  She told me "how dare you ask to ride her when she is carrying a foal".  Boy she snorted at me and pinned her ears back and was slamming her hoof into the ground on that.  I told her  OK OK I'm sorry geeeeeeeeesh Rags calm down LOL.  That is why I made that mention to Christy.  I don't want Rags to sit on me.  At first I wanted Presious Kitten and ran into the same thing.  Then I mentioned WaitAWhile and that was when I almost lost my arm.

I just wanted for all of you to know this cause when you are picking your horses, they have to either be stallions, geldings, or mares/fillies that either have already foaled OR are not going to.

I wondered what was the big deal and Rags blew up and told me that a human could kick the foal and not know it and possibly hurt it.  Also that extra weight.  She just couldn't even understand why I asked her that in the first place.  I finally have her calmed down but she was really testy with me.  Best thing to do is pick a horse that is a stallion or a gelding.  That way, you really can't go wrong.

stardust 15 Mar 2009 11:25 PM

Stardust, Ragsy:

I would like to ride Rockland(Smarty's Son & Nicanor Stable Buddy), No, "It's a Miracle" is not his name, Just a horse that was racing Saturday, The day after I read the article, He raced at gulfstream on Sat., I thought it was ironic that he had that name, So I placed a bet on him, And wouldn't you know, HE WON!!!...

Greg J. 16 Mar 2009 9:41 AM

Lou you need to pick your horse.  Curlin says he would be honered to have you ride him and so did BB.  The choice is yours.  :)

Greg J.  Congrats on Rockland.  You are doing really well.  Maybe you will hit the 6 for the KD aye?  I am taking your advise on the races if I wager.  LOL.

1.  Ragsy --- Rags2Riches

2.  Horsenut ---  Chelokee

3.  Stardust ---  Nicanor

4.  Greg J. ---  Rockland

stardust 16 Mar 2009 11:48 AM

O.K. I'll ride Curlin. Hope he behaves himself. I'm sure we'll need several horses to carry the gear but why don't we hire some donkeys so our beautiful horses don't have to carry a load. Afer all they are race horses and really ought to be treated as special. Just a suggestion... Wonder where we're going? Maybe to Mill Ridge to see Babynor? Oh wouldn't that be fun!!! Greg J. where are you from? I'm in Texas.

Lou 16 Mar 2009 12:39 PM

Greg J:

I'm sending you money and you can place ALL my bets!! Stardust, you can too since you did a grest job with the Derby last year!

horsenut23 16 Mar 2009 12:57 PM

Stardust: Barbaro Arc Angels sounds so super...What about the foals with the new moms? The trail ride might be too much for them? Rags new babe,LVR new foal????

Thanks GregJ.

Ragsy 16 Mar 2009 1:43 PM

horsenut...

You can send me money if you want to but I am going with Greg on the Derby LOL.  I haven't really been following racing that much since the demise of Eight Belles so I am like a bat with this years TC races.  Let me know how big of a purse you want and I can do seperate wagers for you.  :)

Ragsy...  I thought about that too.  What about the little ones and moms.  How about we have a horse trailer with us so that they can rest if they get tired?

Lou...  the Donkeys are a great idea.  How many do you think we need and to go to Mill Ridge.  I ran that by Ragsy and she told me that she thought that was a wonderful idea.  She did say that we all need to have a basket of gifts for Baybynor too and plenty of film for taking pictures.

Lou....  Curlin it is!  He will be fine.  He knows that the trail ride is not the race track LOL.  He is a smart horse.  OK so here is the list of horses and riders for the trail ride so far....

1.  Ragsy --- Rags2Riches

2.  Horsenut ---  Chelokee

3.  Stardust ---  Nicanor

4.  Greg J. ---  Rockland

5.  Lou --- Curlin

As for the list of horses, I talked to Wait A While and she told me that she is NOT putting these horses in any kind of order until all of them are on the list.  She said that we have to Wait A While to get that list perfect.  :)

stardust 16 Mar 2009 2:50 PM

Your welcome Ragsy. Lou, I am from Connecticut.......

Greg J. 16 Mar 2009 3:33 PM

I sure hope Mom and Babynor are doing alright. He's almost a week old and no pictures yet.

The wedding plans are going great. We definitely have to have gifts for Babynor and also a few for LVR.

We may be the first ones to get pictures! I'll definitely have my camera with me.

Is everybody having as much fun doing this as I am? At least it keep us from going crazy waiting for pictures.

At the reception we need lots & lots of oats, carrots, & apples for the guests to munch on. We'll also need several large containers filled with water. We don't want any of the guest to go home hungry from such a fabulous wedding. What about letting some doves go at the reception. Birds of love! Guess that's all for now, let me know what you think.

Lou 16 Mar 2009 7:17 PM

Lou..

The reception is really important.  I am glad you brought that up.  Lots of oats, carrotts, apples, mints, big buckets of water.

I like the Doves too.  Good idea.  What do you guys think about that Ragsy, Greg, Horsenut?  Doves with blue and green ribbons.

The reception is in the paddock so the doves will have lot of purches.  Man this wedding is getting closer and closer aye?  LRV and Dynaformer are going to have a better wedding than most people I have known LOL!  I just can't wait.  It is going to be the wedding of the century with all of the horses we so dearly love.  :)

stardust 17 Mar 2009 11:15 AM

On the wings of a dove, a snowwhite dove that brings our love, sweet love.

Ragsy 17 Mar 2009 12:06 PM

Doves, Yes!!!! We'll also have to have some breadcrumbs or birdseed for them too!

We should have a biscuit "bar" for the hounds too! LOL  Maybe we can get some Border Collies to herd and keep the foals all together?

horsenut23 17 Mar 2009 2:19 PM

Ragsy..........

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that was cool.  :)

Wait A While is waiting for more horses to add to the list of invites.  How long will Wait A While be WAITING LOL!  :)  Let's not make Wait A While WAIT too long hahahahahahahaha.

stardust 17 Mar 2009 2:38 PM

Rags little filly is just adorable. I would love to see a pic of them together. I noticed that Amamda did the story. Top notch that Amanda.

Yes, yes and yes to Stardust & horsenut23 about the all the food, bird seed and biscuits etc.

Stardust & Horsenut23 where are you from. You already know I'm from Texas.

Hopefully on one of the tours we take at Chruch Hill Downs I can check out the place and see where this wonderful wedding has taken place. Won't be there until the middle of June.

Where do you think all of our horse friends have gone? Possibly to another site. Maybe they are just waiting for pictures to write again.

Really enjoyed seeing the pics of Nicanor today. He's looking really good. Sooo proud of him.

Until next time....

Lou 17 Mar 2009 11:22 PM

stardust 18 Mar 2009 4:07 PM

horsenut23 18 Mar 2009 6:22 PM

Stardust and all, I am still sick nothing is worse than trying to type on a computer screen when sick.....

Love Rags2Riches and her foal that is looking just like her with her attitude......  just darling!!!

Ragsy 18 Mar 2009 6:58 PM

Lou:

Maybe if you can't make the wedding, you could be the coordinator for their honeymoon at the Breeder's Cup? :)

Ragsy:

Hope you're feeling better, maybe the photos of Babynor will be up soon and will help! :) Get some rest!

horsenut23 19 Mar 2009 10:28 AM

horsenut..

I used to live in Downers Grove and in Rockford.  Sure does get a lot of snow there in the winter.

Rags.  I cannot get over that blaze on Rags babies head.  Just like mom!  I hope your feeling better soon.  I hate being sick.  It really sucks.  GET WELL! :)

stardust 19 Mar 2009 10:29 AM

Aaaaaaaaaaah why didn't Lou's horse come up?

5.  Lou --- Curlin

That was weird.

stardust 19 Mar 2009 4:06 PM

Hi, Iam Lou's Granddaughter Claire.

Iam 9 years old . Can I ride Lentenor on the trailride? Can La Traviata make the carrot cake?

How about Alpha Kitten being the fashion designer for LVR & Dynaformer? Iam from Texas too. I like the wedding idea !!!!!!!

Lou 19 Mar 2009 8:21 PM

Vows for the wedding.  Whatcha all think?  YOu guys can add to the vows.  Then need some good ones.  Curlin asked for some help here.  He can't seem to keep his eyes off the fillies and mares long enough to concentrate on this.  LOL

1.  Do you take this mare LVR as your lawfully wedded mate...Aye or Neigh?

2.  Do you take this stud Dynaformer as your lawfully wedded mate...Aye or Neighh?

stardust 19 Mar 2009 11:22 PM

Well I was talking to an FOB last night and she told me that The Jacksons should just go ahead and buy Dynaformer LOL!  :) I showed her the wedding and she loved it.  A wonderful FOB friend that I have had from the very beginning of all of this with Barbaro and she is so passionate about the horses that she could move the Earth.  Some of you probably know her.  Don't want to put her name down for obvious reasons but she will be attending the wedding as well.  I will be announcing what she will do and what horse she wants to ride on the trail ride soon.  She may come over her herself.  :)

stardust 20 Mar 2009 11:13 AM

Claire

Of course you can ride Lentenor.  And also be in charge of the La Traviata  to make the carrot cake.

Alpha Kitten being the fashion designer for LVR & Dynaformer is a wonderful idea.  I will up-date the wedding.  Lentenor will be happy to have you ride him.  :)

stardust 22 Mar 2009 3:14 PM

Stardust

I think the wedding vowels are just perfect.

My Granddaughter Claire really likes this site. Hope you don't mind her getting involved. As you can see she already has some suggestions. Let her know what you think. She also wants to go on the trial ride and ride Lentenor. Don't think she will be too heavy for him. He might like having a small person on him for a while.

What do you think is going on with our Babynor? Hope everything is alright. Really love the new picture of Nicanor. He and Ice Road must be having fun working out together.

Catch ya'll later...

Lou 23 Mar 2009 3:01 AM

Vow's are perfect for our love dove birds...LVR- DYNAFORMER!!

Just love this family....

Our trail ride across America will take how long???  Round trip guess Rags2Riches will be bred late year and may be sidelined....along with LVR and who else, will we have to shorten the trail ride???

Ragsy 23 Mar 2009 10:20 AM

Greg J, Stardust, Horsenut & All Interested Fello Commrades:

Rags2Riches and foal are just awesome and that look on the foal is a statement in itself..Its kinda like, Just watch me, I know I can do it.....look out, here I come....betcha she really keeps Rags busy or perhaps mom boots her out of the stall....

Storm In May has again been entered to race at Gulfstream Park, race 2, Friday, 3-27-09.  That sure is alot of work for a 5 year old that hasnt won in greater than a year, only 6 horses running perhaps he will do better. 75,000 claimer...48 thou. purse.

Barbaro, (Nicky,Lentenor, Babynor):

you are forever in my heart and on my mind!!!!!

Ragsy 23 Mar 2009 11:54 AM

Ragsy.  I was talking to Rags and she told me that she would love to make this a long trail ride.  One where we can see a lot of this country and mabybe Canada.  The horses that are racing of course will need to be changed when they race.  For example when me and  Claire have to give back our horse or anyone that is on one that is going to be racing, we must find an alternate.  Some of us get to ride more than one horse.  LOL  I got lucky and picked Nicanor so my second one will be Wait A While AFTER she foals.  Ragsy you being on Rags, you may stay on her for the whole trail ride.  She and her little baby are going to love the vacation.  I think Rags mentioned that we would be on the trail ride all the way back to the Breeders Cup.  After all, we have to set up the party for the newlyweds.  :)

Actually all of you need to pick a second horse because the one that you are riding will have to either breed or race before the trail ride is over.  :)

Poor Stormy, if they would run him in a smaller($$) claiming race, I'm sure one of the FOB's would claim him and retrain him!

Why don't we have the ponies that pony them out to the starting gate, be our tag-team horses?

horsenut23 23 Mar 2009 3:47 PM

Stardust

You left me off the trailride list. I'm riding Curlin. I know you have so much to type you can't always get it right. No offense taken.

My granddaughter was thrilled that you wrote her back and liked her ideas. I got so tickled I had to laught out loud when she ask me if Lentenor would be nice and not get roudy with her. She's having trouble getting that this is juat a make believe wedding. She was afraid that nobody had ridden Lentenor before. I reminded her that he was in training in Fla. and someone rode him almost everyday and that he liked people. She's back home but called me to see if you had written her. Thanks for making her feel included.

Still no pictures..sigh :) It sure is hard being patient after 2 weeks tomorrow.

Lou 24 Mar 2009 12:20 AM

Hello Everyone !, Here is my Prediction for Nicanor's Next Race:

Saturday, 4/11/9, Gulfstream, Race 5, MSM, 1 Mile on Dirt...

Nicanor WILL BREAK HIS MAIDEN(I Hope).....

Also, Poor Storm in May, He did post a quick work on 3/21, though, 4F in 49:00, So who knows?, Part of me would like to see him win BUT another part says ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.....

Greg J. 24 Mar 2009 9:21 AM

Hay Stardust:  what about my 2nd horse : Messaging if Michael Matz can spare him for awhile?? he might be needed though..but he's well broken in and would love the ride...  raining cats and dogs here....

Ragsy 24 Mar 2009 11:41 AM

Horsenut here's hope that someone somewhere will save Stormy.  Maybe, he will win and be saved.

Ragsy 24 Mar 2009 12:06 PM

Greg

If you are right about Nic. That's my B-day and that would be wonderful. Yes,yes, yes Nic could break his maiden then. Are you sure that they will be racing the weekend of the 11th since that is Easter weekend? Easter is Sunday the 12th. Just wondering, don't really know that much about the racing schedules. Please keep us posted.

Lou 24 Mar 2009 12:48 PM

Claire, why, I do believe you are the most lucky one to ride that beauty Lentenor, such a good looking, sweet gentle horse. He is just georgous....

Stardust, where are you, looking foreward to that great ride under the stars, chats and songs with all of us sitting around the fire at night..

Ragsy 24 Mar 2009 2:33 PM

Lou, I am just making an educated guess, but, that would be one heck of a Birthday Gift for you & your Granddaughter!, I hope I am right...

If you want to take a look at Gulfstream's Condition Book(There is a MSM race on the 4th @ 1 1/8 mile but I think that is a little too soon, going by Nicanor's work-outs, you want to look for Maiden races on dirt, not stakes or claiming races, Here you go:

I'll call Claire after school and give her your messages. Thanks for including her. See if she has any other ideas to share.

Guess we had better get quiet about pics of Babynor. So sorry to hear he's not feeling well. Hope it's nothing serious and he's bouncing around soon. Has anyone gotten word about LVR? Is she doing o.k.?  This is really upsetting that our baby isn't doing well. We'll put him in our prayers.

Haven't come up with an alternate horse for the trailride yet. Got any suggestions? All the ones I think of are racing now.

Stardust...sounds like you need a vacation. The trailride should be just the ticket. Seriously, get some rest.

Lou 25 Mar 2009 11:45 AM

Ragsy.  YUP Groundhog day it has been.  BUT the same things don't always happen.  I just consider today our life.  That is all we truly have.  Yesterday is gone, tomorrow never comes.  All we have this this moment.  To making it count!

WHAT is going on with Babynor?  I am going to try to find out.

Ragsy.  I used to travel the world.  I sloooooooooooooooooowed way dowm LOL.  I have a lot of family all over this nation and beyond.  :)  Right now, I am in Oregon.  Plan to be here 4 awhile then maybe going to eastern WA. My daughter ususally stays here when I am gone.  She may move in with me in time.  I don't know.  As long as I have Internet, I can be anywhere and do my work.  Most of it is on line.  :)

My GOD what is going on with Babynor?????????  :(

stardust 25 Mar 2009 3:01 PM

I can't wait to see what the new colt looks like in am so excited!!!!

Maggie 25 Mar 2009 3:05 PM

Ragsy.

THe Barbaro statue is at Churchill now?  Hmmmmmmm where is it?

stardust 26 Mar 2009 2:12 AM

Hi all

Amanda says we may have pictures next week so lets all be patient. We want Babynor to feel his best when he gets his picture taken for the world to see. Hopefully he'll get over his sniffles (or whatever) really soon and be bouncing around like the other brothers when they were his age. Amanda is doing a great job trying to keep us informed and happy. We just need to be patient a while longer.  I know it's hard...sigh:) I'm glad the Jackson's put what's important first!!! Our Barbaro Family.

Lou 26 Mar 2009 2:16 AM

Hiyaaa Stardust, Babynor just had a little fever and JAJ stated, its nothing to be alarmed about.  Just a baby thing and Mill Ridge Stated they will probably have some pictures out next week.

Some good in all things.

Ragsy 26 Mar 2009 11:05 AM

Ragsy,

Storm in May came in fourth, He got bumped at start, gallant effort, though, so who knows, Just hope he stays healthy....

Greg J. 27 Mar 2009 2:43 PM

Greg J:

Storm In May is in the money.  Perhaps his trainer/owners are just trying to keep him happy and running/living on the track makes him happy.

I missed his race an emergency Vet visit, at least I saw Stormy in the walk to the gate... he's a beauty....

Ragsy 29 Mar 2009 11:52 AM

One Caroline should be invited too.  Evidently she is doing really well in her races because she is 5 for 5 now.

KAM 30 Mar 2009 2:40 PM

KAM

I put One Caroline on the list.  Also Storm in May.

Ragsy and the rest of you that are going on this trail ride....

I think that it would be smart to pick a second horse in case your horse has to breed or run off to a race or something before the trail ride is over.  Remember we are touring the whole United States and Canada.  THEN we are rding the horses to the Breeders Cup.  :)

stardust 31 Mar 2009 12:17 PM

she didn't make it? how sad! :(

horsenut23 31 Mar 2009 12:22 PM

With the bad news of "Spenditallbaby"...

This put a smile on my face, Look how well behaved my "Pamplemousse" is painting ! After he (or "Freisan Fire") wins the Derby, He has a future as a artist, lol.....

stardust 01 Apr 2009 10:34 AM

Hi all

We need to make sure Alysheba is there with Barbaro and the rest of our arch angels. Greg, sorry about

Spenditallbaby. It sure hurts to lose your favorites. I still cry about Barbaro every time I read or talk about him. Thanks for the article on the picture of the hounds. I had never seen it before. Barbaro, the hound, is as good looking as our beloved Barbaro.

Amanda....THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the news on Lentenor,LVR and Babynor. YOU ARE THE GREATEST! Do you have any idea when MM plans to move Nicanor north? Is he talking about his stables where he started his training with him?

Lou 01 Apr 2009 8:13 PM

Thanks...

Stardust and Lou, Thanks for including "Baby" in Wedding !, Still breaks my Heart, Life certainly is too short...

Greg J. 02 Apr 2009 10:11 AM

Lou that is a good idea.  Let me remind you that ALL of the horses are going to be there.  Where do you want Alysheba to be with the Arc Angels and do you have a specific task for Alysheba?  Barbaro's cloud is the master cloud.  It is the one that has all of the clouds surrounding it.  He and SPENDITALLBABY will be on the same cloud.  Do you want Alysheba on Barbaro's cloud or a seperate cloud.  Do you have another horse that you would want to put him with?  :)

stardust 02 Apr 2009 11:52 AM

I think that Eight Belles should also have her own special cloud too.  She is a very special horse and she is good at organization.  After all, she got herself organized to come in 2nd for the Derby.  That is the last I remember her.  Now she is running with the Arc Angels.

stardust 02 Apr 2009 11:55 AM

Stardust, how about him being with all the other special "STUDS" that are up there? Let him choose his own cloud. He'll be happy that way. Barbaro will know where he would be happy.

So happy that Nicanor made it to Keeneland without injury and that he had some friends playing with him while he settled in. MM is taking really good care of him. Now we have to give him time to settle in his new home.

Lou 02 Apr 2009 10:22 PM

Lou OK here is the up-date on that.

22.  The wedding will be flooded with the love of the Arc Angels   BARBARO  and SPENDITALLBABY will be in charge of where they will all be standing or sitting and assigning them their clouds. ALL of the horses that have passed over the Rainbow Bridge will be at the wedding.   They will be on their assigned cloud watching over everyone and all of the horses to make sure that everything runs smoothly.  ALYSHEBA will have the rein of all of the clouds.  BARBARO will make sure that things will stay intact.

Greg J

I hit two superfectas, two exactas and a win yesterday at the two coast to coast stakes races.  Did really well.  Looked like Chocolate Candy needed more time.  Also that polytrack is hard to handicap on.  What are your 4 for the Derby.  AND in what order?  :)

stardust 05 Apr 2009 3:34 PM

Stardust,

Hello, I am sick that "The Pamplemousse" is injured(They say he won't race for at least 6 months), Wish him well, Terrible news!, Anyways, I am still with "Friesan Fire", "I Want Revenge" was incredible in the Wood, So he has moved up, Then My Wildcard is "Win Willy"....I know I should love "Quality Road", but staying off that bandwagon right now, Maybe "Dunkirk"???...

Stardust, All I can say , I have "Freisan Fire" winning the Derby...I don't think 7 weeks off to train for the Derby is that big of a deal, But we will see....

Who are your Favorites?

Greg J. 06 Apr 2009 10:15 AM

Greg J

I got Friesen Fire as #1, then I want Revenge, don't know yet who I'll throw in at 3rd yet. I'm looking for Friesen Fire to score big like his great grandaddy did, Secretariat. Who knows he may his heart size? :)

horsenut23 06 Apr 2009 12:46 PM

Greg J:

it was stated the Pamplemousse has a lesion on a tendon on the left leg and he will be sidelined for greater than 6 months..  Just pray it is not cancer....

Ragsy 06 Apr 2009 12:59 PM

Ragsy,

"For Big Red" posted this on the Hangin w/haskin blog about "The Pamplemousse":

"They did a brief phone interview with Alex Solis (the son, not his father, the jockey). Alex essentially said the colt's tendon in his left front is torn. The ultrasound they did showed a small lesion/hole in the tendon. They won't know how bad it is or how long it might take to heal until they do more tests. At the moment, they think it could take up to a year to heal. Right now they are trying to be upbeat and hoping the colt can race again, but the possibility exists that he might be retired later this year on time for the 2010 breeding season.

To me, this sounds very, very similar to the injury that ended Risen Star's career (and broke my heart).

As sad as this is, I thank God the state/track vet called Canani on this. If that tendon had snapped during a race, it would have been a catastrophic injury of the type we've all seen way too many of in recent years. This way, it's a treatable injury that will heal in time. Even if he never races again, the colt will have his chance at stud."

Thanks to "For Big Red" for that update on "The Mousse"...So Sad, BUT it could have been alot worse.

Greg J. 06 Apr 2009 1:59 PM

Greg J.

Thanks for the explanation, ohhh my God, that would haave been the worst outcome for such a wonderful horse, I did not get the complete information! I hope they forget about racing and just save him.... Many thanks to you for the info........

frustrated!!! and cant say it.

Ragsy 06 Apr 2009 3:16 PM

Friesen Fire OR Chocolate Candy first......

Quality Road

I Want Revenge ?????

stardust 06 Apr 2009 8:04 PM

Stardust & Horsenut,

"Freisan Fire" & "I Want Revenge" are my solid 1-2, The third is the tricky part, Either "Win Willy" or "Dunkirk"????, BUT if "Rachel Alexandra" runs, SHE WILL BE A FORCE, Just Watch......

Also, Something funny, I hit the Tri in the SA Derby, So Sunday Morning I cashed the ticket in($350)(off a $20 bet)(Not that great), Figured I would Bet $4.00 Tri, I looked at Keeneland, saw race 5, both Edgar & Jose were racing(I knew NOTHING about the horses, lol), So, Edgar was on #3, Jose was on #1...(My B-day is March 18(3-1-8), So then I took # 8.....3-1-8 Trifecta, AND wouldn't you know, It hit for $250 on a $2/Tri!!!!!....So I took in another $500, Tooooo Funny !

Greg J. 07 Apr 2009 10:17 AM

Stardust :

     I want Revenge

first

sorry I intruded

Ragsy 07 Apr 2009 10:40 AM

Greg J  That is too funny.  I did well wagering on Saturday too.  I hit two exactas, two superfectas, and one win.  I did both Santa Anita and Aqueduct.  Man Prado coming in first on his horse made that exata nice.  I thought he would come in second.

The reason I am going for Chocalate Candy is because of the surface. I think he will do better at Churchill.  There was a lot of horse after that race and I HATE wagering on polytrack.  Throws me off every time.

Freisan Fire & I Want Revenge is a good exata.  I think that I Want Revenge will hit 3rd.  Quality Road may do better too.  I want to hit the super on the KD.  :)

stardust 07 Apr 2009 11:43 AM

Something just made me come here to say a little prayer.

God.

Please keep LVR and Babynor safe and sound and please let us all get through a safe and sound Kentucky Derby this year.  Please no accidents.  I can't go through that again.  I know you know what is best but it doesn't hurt to ask anyway. :)

Amen.

stardust 07 Apr 2009 9:11 PM

Stardust,

Good Job on hitting your bets, I have a gut feeling that, "Quality Road" will be scratched due to his quarter crack just a hunch, but hope I am wrong, Also I will give you a tip....Arkansas Derby....Win Willy, Old Fashioned, Papa Clem(Don't know which order, though), Also, Watch out for "Summer Bird"....

Greg J. 08 Apr 2009 10:23 AM

Greg J.

Qualiy Road better get scratched if he has a sore foot! :-(  I didn't know that.  Why haven't you got Old Fashion coming in the money on the  K Derby?

I like Win Willy.  Summber Bird?  Cool name.

stardust 08 Apr 2009 12:00 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  you beautiful mare. Hope you and Babynor have a wonderful day together. Hopefully they will give you some carrots and apples as a treat. Our hearts are with you.

Lou 08 Apr 2009 12:03 PM

Greg J.  AND Greg is right AGAIN!  I actually forgot about your picks yesterday and wagered on those three anyway.  They did HIT.  My loss was my 2 dollar ticket to win on OF.  The Tri sure did pay good and the exacta box cause Pappa Clem WON!   Nice race but the injury sucks.

Summer Bird was in my trifecta.  That horse really flew.  I hit the exacta and tri.  I feel so bad for Old Fashion.  He is not going to the Derby.  IMO he was run too much and now he is in the hospital.  Should have had a long break before the Derby IMO.  I hope he heals OK.  :-(

stardust 12 Apr 2009 12:01 PM

Stardust,

Arkansas Derby, NICE!(Except, of course, Old Fashioned being injured), I Had Papa Clem, Old Fashioned,  Summer Bird $24.00 Trifecta Box, It paid $1100.00!!!, I decided too drop Win Willy(Can you imagine if I kept him on for the Superfecta?, It would have paid $2000.00 for a $2.00 wager, Oh well!)

New Tip For You....

Freisan Fire, General Quarters, Chocolate Candy...My New Trifecta for the Derby....It could change though, lol....

Greg J. 13 Apr 2009 2:56 PM

Everyone,

I believe LVR needs to go to this place to get her hair done for the wedding and Dynaformer, This is tooooo funny :

www.msnbc.msn.com/.../30191445

Greg J. 14 Apr 2009 9:43 AM

Greg I DID have Win Willy in my superfecta!!!!!!!  It was the 2.40 superfecta.  I couldn't belive it.  Summer Bird was running good!  The only thing I didn't hit was the win.  I had OF on that.

OK what about Square Eddie?  I think Pappa Clem and FF will hit the board.  Of course I really do think and always have that Chocolate Candy will win the Derby.  Something is bugging me about that.   Has been for quite a while.  :)

Stardust,

You do realize that "Square Eddie" is running this Saturday in the Coolmore Lexington (gr. II) for 3-year-olds at Keeneland in Lexington?, That will give him only TWO weeks before the Derby....Not enough time, In my Opinion! He is not even on my radar, I will give you a head's up, In that same race, The Jackson's(LAEL) have a horse named,   "Pitched Perfectly", trained by Barclay Tagg....He will be my pick....

Greg J. 14 Apr 2009 12:00 PM

Greg J.

No I had no clue that he was running Saturday.  Thanks for the gas money LOL!  :-)

Do you think Square Eddie and Pitched Perfectly will be the exacta?  :-)  I'll trust you on the win.  :)

stardust 14 Apr 2009 9:14 PM

Greg J.

I am putting that in the wedding plans LOLOL!  That is good.  :)

stardust 14 Apr 2009 9:15 PM

stardust 14 Apr 2009 9:25 PM

Stardust,

Here is a video of General Quarters winning last weekend, also click to the right of the video to get his background, also, Coa, his jockey probably will ride Musket Man in Derby, So if that happens, Julien Leparoux will ride him(Nicanor's next jockey, I hope), If he does ride him, then he will my solid number two behind fire!....Plus, General Quarters is a feel good story, Bought for only 20K.....

I believe that Roy and Gretchen would love this wedding.  They are very wonderful people with imagination and wisdom.  Life doesn't always have to be so serious.  I don't see them as the type of people that are so serious all the time that they don't find joy in life.  ;-)

Friesan Fire

I Want Revenge

Chocolate Candy

Pioneer of the Nile?  Dunkirk?

I am not sure what order though.  I am going for FF or CC for the win.  Just don't know.  This is not that hard but not that easy either.  I want to see the rest of the races.  They took Stardom Bound out.

And the injury sucks.  I hate it when that happens.  Is it really worth it?  :-(

stardust 19 Apr 2009 12:19 PM

I will probably send a copy of this to the Jackson's.  :-)  Won't be the first time.

stardust 19 Apr 2009 12:39 PM

Greg J.

I want Pletcher to win the Derby.  I think he deserves it and should have two hit the board.  That would rock.  I like FF but I have a problem with treatment.  Love Larry Jones bless his heart.  He is making a good decision to call it quits.  :-)

stardust 20 Apr 2009 1:35 AM

Stardust,

Friesan Fire will win hands down, lol...

Still waiting for race to get closer, Depends on Post Positions, Weather, Track Conditions, Etc....

Right Now, My top three in Derby:

1. Friesan Fire

2. General Quarters

3. Chocolate Candy

Greg J. 20 Apr 2009 10:02 AM

Greg J.

I agree with all three of yours except for General Quarters.  I think Pioneer of the Nile.  After Saturday, I will never underestimate G Gomez.  LOL I want FF to come in second.  I am going to box them anyway so they "should" hit.  I may throw General Quarters in there.  Probably a good idea.

stardust 20 Apr 2009 11:02 AM

stardust 20 Apr 2009 11:34 AM

OK here is the deal.  I think that Pioneer of the Nile is going to win the Derby now.  With G Gomez on him, and he only lost without GG, that does it for me.  Of course, I'll have to see the post parade but that is my decision.  I think that Pletcher will have two on the board.  FF ??????????  GREG!  He is way down the list!!!!!!!!! in earnings.  Why is he so important?

stardust 20 Apr 2009 1:26 PM

Stardust,

       Earnings mean NOTHING right now...

In his last race, The La. Derby, He won by 7 1/4 lengths, beat Patena, Papa Clem, Terrain....EASILY...

Has Raced seven times, More then any other Derby Horse...

Has won three in a row...

His Pedigree is AMAZING, Bred for distance, Has a great turn of foot, He is poetry in motion when he runs, Controlled effortlessly by jockey, Has a Great Trainer(Who deserves this after his heart break w/Eight Belles & Old Fashioned).

Watch his work last week, Effortless...

www.youtube.com/watch

HE WILL WIN, MARK MY WORDS!

Greg J. 20 Apr 2009 3:00 PM

I predict when Friesan Fire wins, Stardust will have keyed him on top of her superfecta. And that she'll misspell his name when she redboards it.

Concerned Fan 20 Apr 2009 5:40 PM

Greg J

OK I am marking your words right inot my wagering account.  :-)

stardust 20 Apr 2009 7:27 PM

Greg J.  I am going with you on the whole damn thing.  If it hits great.  As I said on another blog, these are all going to have to be boxed IMO.  This Kentucky Derby is a very hard one to call for me.

I want to see what the undercards are too.  How soon will we have those races?  :-)

stardust in San Fran 21 Apr 2009 2:20 PM

Stardust will have FF in her superfecta box and her tri and exacta.  I am not doing anyting but boxing them this year.  Of course the 3,4,5,6 picks is a different story.  I think I am going to put two of them in the Derby for those picks.  GREG?  Who do you think will hit second on the Derby?  :-)

        As of now:

1.Frisan Fire(That WILL never change)

2.Chocolate Candy

3.General Quarters

4.SUMMER BIRD(My Darkhorse, love his kick at end of his races)

Greg J. 21 Apr 2009 3:19 PM

Greg J

Boxing those in the exotic wagers is a good idea.  Do you think that maybe it may be smart to put "Pioneer of the Nile" as the 5th horse?  :)  All in a box.  You seem to know a lot about this stuff.  You do very well with handicapping.

I did it all the time until the demise of Eight Belles.  When I got her check, I couldn't even open it.  I still have a check from the Yellow Ribbon Stakes with Wait A While (she was even money) that I haven't cashed LOL!  How funny.  I get addicted to wagering.  I won't not admit that.  I do get heavy into it sometimes and sometimes take a big loss.  All in all though, my gain has far outweighed my losses over the last 3 years.  It bites to cash in on a check when the horse was put down.  :-(

stardust in San Fran 21 Apr 2009 5:22 PM

I have an idea for your horsey wedding. Get a bunch of shetland ponies, hang cardboard signs around their necks with the horses name on them, and line them up on a football field - all of this, of course, on Derby Day. Walk them around like it's a wedding. Throw carrot bouquets (or whatever). And please, please, please post the whole bizarre thing on youtube.

Stunned 21 Apr 2009 5:39 PM

Greg J.

Do you sometimes find yourself feeling like wagering has a hold on you?  Not to be nosy but I get that feeling and it is scary.  I sometimes chase the dollar.  I hate that.  Then of course, they never hit.

stardust in San Fran 22 Apr 2009 11:34 AM

Greg J.

It looks to me like you are starting to sway toward Chocolate Candy.  I see you have him in second place.  OK now for the big question.  How many lengths do you think that FF will take the win by OR will it be a photo finish? :-)

stardust in San Fran 22 Apr 2009 1:05 PM

Stardust,

I wrote this on Triple Crown Blog:

Friesan Fire & Larry Jones,

After watching Proud Spell capture the Kentucky Oaks the day before the Derby, Then to go from the extreme high of having his amazing filly, Eight Belles come in second in the Derby, then go to the lowest possible feeling with what happed to her, Have Old fashioned get injured then retired, Two second place finishes in the Derby...

Larry Jones, who is retiring from training after this year, Deserves to go out on top winning the Triple Crown with this terrific athlete, Friesan Fire...Who will end his Career with six straight wins then retire...

Enough Said...The "Fire" by 5 lengths(He can't beat Barbaro's victory margin, though, lol)

2.Chocolate Candy

     OR

3.General Quarters

     OR

4.Summer Bird

Greg J. 22 Apr 2009 4:57 PM

Greg J.

5 lengths?  WOW!  That is pretty confident.  I adore Larry Jones.  He has always been a really good person in my book and trainer.  I know he is quitting and I think that he made a very wise choice.  You have to remember though that Larry doesn't get much of that purse money.  The owners do and IMO I feel it should go somewhere else.  I do believe you though.  I will put FF in my boxes.  Yeah Summer Bird.  Boy am I glad I listened to you there.

When are we going to find out the undercards of this day?

stardust 26 Apr 2009 11:19 AM

Greg J.

Eight Belles did win the Derby as far as I am concerned.  :-)

stardust 26 Apr 2009 12:40 PM

Stardust,

The Wagering doesn't have any effect on me, I only bet what I can lose, And every bet I make I count on being a losing bet, Honestly, This way when I win, It is a added bonus, I feel like when I bet, I am paying to watch these awesome animals, sounds strange, but bottom line, I never expect to win....that way, I don't get to caught up in the money aspect...

Greg J. 27 Apr 2009 5:37 PM

Greg J.

FF

Pioneer of the Nile

Summer Bird

Dunkirk

Not in that order.  :)

stardust 28 Apr 2009 12:04 PM

I think Pioneer is going to take the win with Gomez and FF second.  I am still boxing these horses.  Papa Clem is starting to look pretty darn good.  :)

Rags2Riches wants to know when she will be receiving the check to help pay for the wedding.  :)  Good job on your wager and YES it was an honest wager.  Barbaro made sure that you had an 8 instead of a 6 cause that is HIS number and silks.  :)

That will be my big Superfecta Box, Like I said, Your guess is as good as mine, This is the toughest Preakness ever!, Should be one heck of a race, I am not going to go crazy, though, I will just sit back and enjoy it, and hope it is a clean safe trip...

I hope Rachel Alexandra will get to run in the belmont.  She is an amazing horse.  Mine that Bird is pretty amazing too.

Stardust,

What a Preakness!!!, My Fire ran great until the stretch, then He just Faded, Confusing, Maybe he just wasn't ready after his Hard Derby?, But Did end up Going with RA/MTB on the top of all my tickets, I gave no respect to MM(Never happen again!), So, When all is said, I spent $200.00 Total, Biggest(And only winner) was My $50 Exacta with RA/MTB, Paid $974.00, Minus my $200, Net Profit $774.00, Not Bad...

Would Love to see Chantel Sutherland ride MTB in Belmont, With Summer Bird Second to MTB....

Greg J.  That is a good payout for 50 bucks.  I am glad you hit. I only put 2 on it LOL!  My account is really sad right now cause it is hungry for some money to wager LOL.  What is coming up besides the Belmont?  :)

I like going for the 3,4,5,6 picks cause I have hit a lot of those.  Trouble is when one horse loses (unless it is a 6) it's toast.  I think I like it better when the first horse takes it down.  I HATE doing a 3 and having the 3rd horse come in fricken 2nd.  Grrrrrrr.  I like to do boxes on the exotics too and always throw a 3rd horse in cause you never know.  I used to wager a lot then I quit cause I got addicted to it.  Now I just mess around with not much cause I always have a purse that I can afford to lose.  That isn't much LOL!  I STILL have the check on Wait A Whiles Yellow Ribbon Stakes race last year.  Put 100 on her and the check is 200 bucks.  I am  keeping that one for emergencies.  LOL!
