Between Nicanor’s first start and La Ville Rouge’s impending foaling, things have been a bit busy and just a little serious on the blog. In an effort to lighten things up, I thought I would do a couple things.
One, posted below are some more photos of Nicanor during his debut. One of my co-workers ran into photographer Yetta Feltner of Shoot-It Photography, and she was kind enough to send them along. Enjoy!
Two, because so many of you are creative and clearly love Nicanor and his family, I thought it might be fun to have some reader participation in honor of Valentine’s Day. There are no prizes, but I hope you will participate just for the fun of it.
Write a haiku to Nicanor, Lentenor, Barbaro, or any member of the family. If you are unfamiliar with haiku, it is a form of Japanese poetry consisting of three lines. The first and third lines only have five syllables, while the second line has seven syllables. See below for an example provided by one of my co-workers:
Oh Nicky Knocks, love
So many do adore you
Carrots forever
The only other rule is to keep it clean, or I won’t post it. Have fun and Happy Valentine’s Day!
