Hey guys,
Thanks for your patience. I know you all have been concerned about the administration of this blog. As online managing editor of bloodhorse.com I will be managing this blog and welcome any feedback you might have (rmitchell@bloodhorse.com). Certainly, as Nicanor and Lentenor continue down the road, we will provide timely updates and occasional features. Thanks for your support and patience.
As online managing editor for bloodhorse.com and the person who has run this award-winning Web site since 1995. I conceived the Talkin' Horses idea and have been gratified to see how it has matured. I have always been an advocate of community within the websphere. Bloodhorse.com, at my suggestion, was the first industry web site to engage in community, having the first industry-wide forum. I also established and conducted weekly online polls for several years. As other industry web sites copied those features and the community dialogue area matured, we moved on to our services that inspire comment and discussion.
I am now moderating this blog due to my interest in the subject. I was on the Barbaro bandwagon way before it was fashionable. I followed him closely and conducted the first interviews with Peter and Michael while the horse was stabled at Keeneland previous to the Kentucky Derby. I directed our web site's coverage of Barbaro's injury and recovery and arranged and conducted two Talkin' Horses discussions with Dr. Richardson. Lastly, I saw first hand earlier this year the potential of Lentenor when I conducted a video interview with Jill Stephens in Ocala.
Those are my credentials. As for managing this blog, I will likely be less hands-on than the previous administrator, primarily because my philosophy is that this is your forum. I will primarily serve as traffic cop (and referee when necessary) and information provider. I will do regular updates on developments within the Barbaro family and will await your comments. When you have questions that cannot be answered, I will do my best to find the answers and communicate them to you. My experience has been that we have a savvy and knowledgeable core group of participants who are usually in a position to answer any question. And then some.
Looking forward to the experience.
Ron Mitchell
