Nicanor, the 3-year-old full brother to Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, continued to work toward his next start when he breezed five furlongs in 1:01 at Fair Hill Training Center July 7. The time was co-fastest of the day among five working that distance on the fast main track.

On Jan. 17, Nicanor continued to work toward his eagerly anticipated racing debut.

Although it is very important not to confuse Nicanor with his siblings, a quick peek at his family history might help ease the worried minds of those who are concerned he hasn't raced yet.

On the morning of the June 7 Belmont Stakes (gr. I), a race his brother didn't get to try in 2006, Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Nicanor recorded his first published work at Fair Hill Training Center.
