La Ville Rouge, the dam of ill-fated Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, has been checked in foal at the 62-day stage of her pregnancy for 2009 and is believed to be carrying a filly.

La Ville Rouge produced another full brother to Barbaro March 10 at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington.
