I think that Nicanor has a mind of his own; therefore for him to rate is going to be a problem. Great horses like Secretariat had the same problem. The blinkers help.

helsbelles, thank you for remembering what I said after Nicanor's 2nd race; that blinkers would perhaps help him to focus. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him break his maiden by over 15 lengths with the blinkers on. Nicanor is such a lovely horse. I have learned so much from all of you on this blog.

I wonder if anyone had heard that Nicanor had Einstein as a workout partner? I recall that Nicanor beat him, and if that's true, then Nicanor will likely be in the Fall Classics, given that Einstein is a handicap horse. I still believe that Nicanor has barely tapped his top speed, and the poor horse who is in a race when he uses it will be left in the dust. I think Nicanor will leave the three year old division in tatters, but then we've known that for awhile...Matz is conservative and Nicanor should continue to move up until we see his name on the front cover of The Daily Racing Form.

Have heard from a couple of sources that word at FHTC is "Lentenor is Barbaro" and it is "very moving." There is no explanation. Maybe they are talking about how he looks, period. Maybe they mean something more. Anyone else heard about this? Amanda?
