GregJ... thanks for the info. I'll give it a try when we get back. I do have a digital camera so hopefully it's as easy as it sounds.

Since Nicanor isn't racing at Belmont, does that mean he should be at Deleware on the 18th?

Is your camera digital?, If so, It is quite easy First, Download them to your Harddrive, Then goto FLICKR.COM(One of many great sites, the one I use, though!), Sign up for free, then download your pictures to your Photostream, You can add any comments you would like, To describe your pictures, You can make them either public(For everyone to view) or Private(Only can be viewed by people you allow). Also, add "Tags", words that describe your pictures(I.E., Horse Racing, Churchill Downs, Etc...), Then that is pretty much it, Hope that helps?, If any questions, Please feel free to ask...You guys should have an amazing time!

and she always looks in top condition,so I'm not worried

that she is over bred. I have

been very disturbed by the

number of mares that have of mares that have died this

year from foaling complica

-tions. I don't recall so many

in other years. I wonder if it

is because the foals are big?

They do seem to be breeding

for bigger horses.

Zookeeper, when Barbaro was at the New Bolton Center, after his accident, my granddaughter sent him a Christmas card that she drew just for him. In about 8 weeks after that, she got a hand written note from Gretchen Jackson thanking her for Barbaro's card. Guess that's why I feel they are special people since she took the time to hand write my ganddaughter a thank you note. Not just anyone would do that with all the things the Jackson's have to do. She feed Barbaro a big basket of green grass from their pasture everyday when she visited him. Guess I'm a little one sided when it comes to them. I don't get affended if others don't agree so feel free to write your opinions of them. I promise I won't jump on you for your opinion.

Ragsy...I plan to take a lot of pictures of Churchill Downs since I've never been there before. You'll probably see my daughter as well as my granddaughter in most of them. Really excited about our trip.

Greg J..I may need some instructions as to how to post them though. I am on aol so if you could send me some instructions I'd really appreciate it. You see I'm still a novice on the computer. I do have a printer that can scan pictures if that helps any.

Ron, thanks again for keeping our site up and running. Don't know what I'd do without my horse friends.

A Hi and how are you Zookeeper and Azureblu.

I counted over 80 blogs created since March 2008. That is a lot of messages to go through. Might I suggest that everytime a new La Ville Rouge blog comes up that a brief bio of LVR be added by one of us so that newcomers understand what is going on with her and that she is extremely well cared for and not put upon.

And I have been entering messages on this blog since March 2008, and people still grumble at me on occasion, so don't take anything anyone says on this blog personally. I grumble back and then I get over it. Most if not all of them are sweeties.

Thanks everybody for your kind comments and the info on La Ville Rouge. I should have thought before I posted the question. The Jacksons are truly wonderful owners and rightfully admired for their willingness to try and save Barbaro's life. That should have given me a clue about their breeding practices. I engaged my keyboard before my brain...

Like da3hoss, I cringe when I read about a fine mare losing her life to foaling complications when she should have been pensioned much earlier.

Run Ruffian75, I would hope that breeders would give their mares "a break". The Jacksons do not need me to give them "a break" for not breeding La Ville Rouge to death. I EXPECT breeders to act responsibly. In their case, I typed before I thought, but there are too many instances where breeders are just as cruel as the "Mother Nature" you advance as an argument. When humans act humanly (as the Jacksons do) they are only doing what they are SUPPOSED to do. However, since I don't want to upset the apple cart even further, HATS OFF to the Jacksons!!!
