As tat427 said, above, I could not log on either. I was able to see the race on youtube very soon after it was run, but the NTRA site did not function properly.

Mr. Waldrop - I want to thank you and your team for the great Vanity presentation yesterday. Lacking TV coverage, you are offering the best way to see live racing. I had no 'buffering' problems at all this time and have seen steady progress since the first webcast.

It was particularly fun to see people from ALL OVER THE WORLD logging in to watch Zenyatta run. She's phenomenal and I could only wish the NTRA would find more ways to capitalize on her immense worldwide popularity. She and her connections are the gold standard of this sport we all love and want to see flourish.

Gutsy, that is all one can say. We had all been a little concerned with the slower times & the weight loss, but she did it. It is not often our whole family gathers around a TV set on a busy summer weekend, but we did for the Vanity. She was awesome, simply awesome. Hope she is okay & we get to see her again at Churchill.

Question for you, If you cannot appreciate seeing Zenyatta's 17th Victory in a row, How can you possibly call yourself a fan of this sport? It boggles my brain when I see comments like yours. Instead of bitching, Why not enjoy both while you still have that chance?

Me too! I'm rooting for BOTH outstanding mares to run away from their competition.

Knowledgeable fans of racing know St Trinians won her first four starts in the U.S. States (including beating Life Is Sweet) before running out of the money in the Santa Anita Handicap. She's back and rested now, so she's definitely a threat. Guess Joanie doesn't know much about that.

Zardana also won the Bayakoa Handicap at Hollywood Park, which is her home track. Guess Joanie didn't know that either, LOL.

Both of those mares offer more competition for Zenyatta than some other races this weekend, for example the Fleur de Lis.

CV, I agree with you. Sometimes people have the need to be negative. (nascar blogs are worse!) Whether she's "aggressively" campaigned or not, she is in the book of history, as I'm sure RA is also. I'm glad they came in my lifetime, along with many others.

Anyhoo, looking for a win from this great mare!

Another all star field challenging Zenyatta in the Vanity.

Will O Way, Cherryblossommiss, Miss Silver Brook, and maybe Miss Pleasant. All poised and ready for their first stakes win. And if that’s not tough enough, how about a G2 winner like St. Trinians? Phew!

She’ll really be up against it, but I believe Zenyatta will prevail. LOL

I appreciate watching Zenyatta whenever and wherever she races, just as I will enjoy watching Rachel Alexandra run against fillies and mares in the Fleur de Lis.

This is a nice concept for racing fans who do not have access to TVG or HRTV. Thank goodness for the internet! Back in the 60's when television was still young, there used to be a half-hour show every Saturday called "The Feature Race of the Week" sponsored by the NYRA. Sportscaster Wynn Elliott was the host. As a kid who was "horse crazy", this became my introduction to the world of horse racing. I watched champions like Damascus, Buckpasser, Dr. Fager, Ta Wee and Shuvee to name a few race. It is too bad that something like this (on a national level) could not done to expose more people other than horse racing fans to the sport. I am not certain if this would work as television and the times have changed radically, but I do feel that horse racing needs to be better featured on television. One further note: When the movie, "Secretariat" hits the screen in October and the Breeder's Cup would be just around the corner, I hope the NTRA has a campaign together to promote the sport.

I also will be watching as you have to give the horse all the credit in the world. This horse always comes from last to first no matter what the pace is up front. Its sad that mainstream TV wont be picking it up but for TV to pick it up we would have needed this to be an event. Lets just hope that all goes well and the breeders cup classic becomes an event this yesr like last year. I will be cheering you on when you come roaring down the stretch to mow the rest of them down.

I will be crushed around the paddock with my friends. We love to watch her do her famous dancing. We yell: "Zenyatta! Zenyatta!" The whole time our hands tremble with anticipation for her race...

I'm sure I'll have tears (again) watching her race.

I'm excited too about the racing yet to come. Cannot wait to see Queen Zenyatta again on Sunday in the Vanity. I think this race is too soft for her but what the hey.. I get excited just watching her drinking beer..Also, my Goddess of Racing Rachel is racing this weekend. I hope she's back to form but if not, don't care...I can wait. Also, General Quarters is racing in the Stephen Foster. I just adore this horse almost as much as Mr. McCarthy does. I want him to win this big one really bad. Also, I understand the winners of the Triple Crown races might show up at the Travers. Wow, how much fun would that be!! Let's go Lucky!!! And although I was so looking forward to seeing Summer Bird race again, and he's been retired, one of my favorites, I Want Revenge is back in training and almost ready to come back as is Mind That Bird, another loved one. Oh yeah, the fun is just beginning...
