Headline....."Breeder's Cup Attendance and Handle Increase".

Question begs to be asked....How much of this was because of Queen Zenyatta. Answer...it wouldn't have happened without her! She held up her end...will the sport hold up theirs? Guess she can run on dirt after all. She went east and raced on the dirt....Rachel stayed home, got HOY and hit the wall in 2010. Kind of diminishes the stature of the award...doesn't it?

The Zenyatta team has exhibited such style and grace. Too bad the East coast never has demonstrated the same.

She is a true champion! It's a good thing she never had to read the tawdry press or blogs coming out of the East....She's a class act and deserving of HOY! But if she doesn't get it, she won't care. As far as she's concerned she got her target and won.

Awards like the Eclipse, the Oscar and the Nobel are losing their luster because of the politics and the quality of the recipient's work. Go Zenyatta!

If we're lucky....the Moss' won't retire her and will go east to whack whatever they decide to put up against her. We know Blame won't be there because he's already cut and run.

I have every one of the queen's races taped and win or lose, this one is also being taped. We have been blessed with an angel a I pray that we get to see her come in first one last time. She is to racing what Michael Jordan was to basketball. I would give my right arm to be there but have to be satisfied with watching tv.

And a big thanks to Sports Editor Malcolm DeWitt of The Charleston Post and Courier for seeing that articles about Zenyatta got published in our local newspaper. It took a few telephone calls to "educate" him about Zenyatta's story, but he came through.

According to this issue of Blood-Horse ESPN will be airing Saturday's races picking up at the Juvenile & running through the Classic. The first 3 races on Saturday are listed for ABC.

Of course, Ladies' Day is all aired on ESPN2.

I've loved all the posts except those of a certain bitter few. And I am a Rachel Alexandra fan. I loved Rachel before I loved Zenyatta. I wouldn't have heard about Zenyatta if I hadn't fallen for Rachel. I love them both.

Those bitter, sour people will jump on the wagon eventually - it may take 20, 30 years - but they will. Legend does that to even the most bitter.

THE QUEEN IS SUPREME!!!! How can she NOT be horse of the year? Nobody has ever done what she has accomplished. Saw a clip the other night about the QUEEN. It was fun, interviewing John Sheriffs, Mikey, who still doesn't think he's seen the bottom of her, the call announcer from Hollywood Park, who said she always knows where the finish line is, and if there were 10 more horses in front of them, she would still beat them all. WHAT A GIRL, what guts, what a personality, what a ham, and what a star. Oh, did I forget to mention the majesty and beauty? What a package.

ZENYATTA, nobody has ever come close. Love you big girl.

Nice commentary Alex. I have had the privilege of seeing her in person 3 times in Ca. She is a wonder to behold. She is in for the race of her life this Saturday. I truly hope and pray for a safe trip for all (both days)She doesn't need to win but it sure would be nice. She has done all that has ever been asked of her and more. I will be watching on TV -Wish I could be there. Enjoy her, East Coasters!!!

Wow. How can ANYONE (I won't name names..) have such a negative assessment of Zenyatta after everything she has accomplished. I was disappointed that she didn't get more of a challenging campaign this year. But she is happy, she is sound, she is undefeated & she is a joy to behold!

I am Rachel's truest fan - I love that mare with MOST of my heart. But how could there not be a bright spot in my heart for the luminescence of the Queen herself? You can poo-poo all of her victories against the great fillies & mares that she has put away in her brilliant career. (Apparently unable to SEE just how easily she disposes of them at will...) But how could anyone deny her commanding & dominant performance in last year's Classic?! This year is a tougher test, that's true. But still.... did you even watch that race? I was absolutely breathless & amazed at the ease with which she defeated those guys!! I fully expected her to win too, but jeez! That WAS Unbelievable! Please, don't slight one horse's incredible accomplishments because you have "rooted for the other guy". Sit back, relax, enjoy the stirring beauty of EVERY equine in this series. Just let the fantastic energy of these awesome creatures pervade every fiber of your being. They all have so much to give. They all are such gifts to us mere humans. I am beside myself with excitement this year! Safe passage to ALL participating & Happy Breeder's Cup!

Those lucky fans who get to be at the Breeders' Cup this weekend are in for a treat. Not only will you see some of the best race horses in the world, but you will get the full Zenyatta experience. Seeing her in person is indescribable. You'll see what I mean!

The mighty Z is ALREADY on the short list of greats, whether or not she wins the BC Classic! She was on this list last year! No one can take away her 19 straight wins and it doesn't matter what surface she raced on, doesn't matter how fast she ran, it doesn't matter what competition she ran against, it doesn't matter where she raced,

the fact is that she WON! If she loses on Saturday, she still is one of the greatest ever to step on a track. Even the great Man O'War lost a race! She deserves Horse of the Year just for the excitement she has brought to racing and to do it at 6 years old is just unheard of! I will be at Churchill cheering her on and win or lose, she is the BEST horse on the track to me! GO Z!!!

I hate to break this to you but Bob Baffert was in the press box during Zenyatta's workout the other day talking to someone all the while waiting for Lookin At Lucky to workout.

After Zenyatta's workout Bob Baffert's face turn almost completely white to match his white hair and then turned to his friend and said..."I REALLY didn't need to see that..."

How could anyone say negative things about such a magnificent

creature that has done everything asked of her. She's perfect in every way and yet she's dissed by people that dare call themselves racing fans. They are truly appalling. At first I wanted her to win, now, I want her to totally crush the field and put her foot in the eyes of those that scorn her. I know it's not her style to win like that but something tells me Mike Smith wants that too. I want it for her. I want her to humiliate her naysayers, because they have to belittle her and her winning record. I have faith in her because I've seen her in person and know what she can do. Nothing but a terrible trip, boxed in, knocked over(hehe) or tripped by that certain bloodhorse analyst that dissess her, will keep her from winning. I totally believe that. She is amazing and I can hardly wait for Saturday.

Will be working till 8pm ET on Fri. so will have to get my info second hand. However, Saturday is mine and my TV will be tuned to BC coverage. Queen Z and Goldie will be racing into history. I for one have no doubt that both will win their respective races. The Queen will win on Sat., she just seems to get better and better with each race. She knows where the wire is, and extends just enough energy to win. I know it sounds crazy, but we all have seen it. Whatever the outcome of the Classic, the Queen will be supreme!!!

Zenyatta, needs to run in this race and win to be horse of the yr and she didnt get cheated last yr Rachel was a better. If Quality Road wins he will be Horse Of The Yr. It will great racing whom ever wins.

I just want Zenyatta to come home safe and sound. I will watch, but I will be terrified until it's over! I hope she wins, because she is the best mare in history. I am also rooting for Goldikova, certainly one of the best milers of all time. Last year's BC was amazing and I can't wait to see this one on TV.

Zenyatta will be ranked as one of the very best Thoroughbreds, ever, regardless of the outcome of the BC Classis this Saturday. She is already there. 19 wins, no losses. She has won against some of the best males in from this country and overseas. When a great filly comes along, she is never given her full due unless she wins against males. What do great males do to match the fillies feats? Run against sports cars? Fillies never get enough credit and lately, most of the best horses have been female. Zenyatta leads them all. I will never forget her and I thank her connections for sharing her so openly with us fans. Voting for HOTY honors and other such things can far too often be a popularity contest and oftentimes the best horses are snubbed. Zenyatta is a once-in-a-liftime horse and regardless of whether she wins any more "official," awards or not, she has won the hearts of all who love horses. God bless you and keep you safe Zenyatta!
