What I am sure of is the fact that it does not address any of the pressing needs of the industry that affects those of us trying to make a living and what our future may hold. No doubt the NTRA has done a good job in its lobbying efforts and maintaining a level playing field. To me this is a fundamental "given" that is the norm for any industry. Considering that so many of us in the industry are living day to day contemplating if the ends are going to justify the means I make no apologies by saying I am not really interested in the NTRA's charity work at this time. I understand its PR and feel good value. But it does not make me feel good that I maybe in need of charity in the not to distant future. I have never quite understood why we should have to fund an organization to insure the Safety & Integrity of racing. To me this is the race tracks responsibility and should be considered THEIR cost of doing business. Should there be an oversight committee? In a perfect world no the race tracks should understand that the safety and integrity of racing is vital to their future. We all know it is not a perfect world so yes there should be an oversight committee. This committee should be set up and funded by all the race tracks. Not out of my donations from yearlings that I and most other breeders have most likely lost money on. This being said do I feel the NTRA is doing its job? As Mr. Waldrop has laid out, yes. But I am not sure it justifies the NTRA's existence as a separately funded entity. IMO there are just too many groups, people sucking hind teat and the milk is running out.

Respectfully, your comments show just how far out of the loop you and your"members" are. I see no representation for the most important group in racing, i.e. those who wager BILLIONS of dollars each year.

All racing bodies in there fifedoms just don't have a clue that the patient(the player) is near terminal and you just want to treat the problem with an aspirin.
