The amnouncers at Ascot were so complimentary and congratulatory about how proud the Americans must be, and how wonderful it was for international racing.

But like George Washington breaking down in the Breeder's Cup with only curt recognition of the loss the Europeans would feel, Americans are so myopically focused on themselves, they fail to notice what the rest of the world notices.

So I learned that even in the Bloodhorse world, international accomplishments go relatively unnoticed.

But thanks Becky, for your very thorough analysis of Ascot. It makes watching the races so much more meaningful. And how much fun you must be having - I would think that only Dubai would compete. I, unfortunately, must live vicariously through you.

be more happier at 12 furlongs but

he does run well on firm going and I hope he can win this too.

 The appropriately named Don,Tell

Mary should run big in the Queen Mary Stakes as she has looked good in winning both her races so far.I

will be looking to see how well Jealous Again will run in that race as she finished second to Aegean at Churchill Downs and that one holds an entry in the Albany Stakes on Friday.
