Dec. 4, 2009 As of this date, two needy TB's are at the new division of Old Friends in NY at Cabin Creek Farm - Bobby Frankel Division. These old campaigners started in a combined 200 starts and earnings of over $560,000.

I am sure Mr. Frankel would be very pleased with these 2 horses getting a well deserved retirement!

I remember how he sort of choked up when taling about Flute during a BC pre-race segment. I get a lump in my throat thinking about that moment. He might have been cantakerous with people, but he sured loved things with 4 feet. You rest well now Bobby.

Wow, great news, Old Friends is setting up a satellite farm dedicated to Bobby Frankel in New York! It will be Old Friends at Cabin Creek: Bobby Frankel Division in Greenfield Center, New York.

I started to lose interest in racing for the past 2 years and do not feel it is a coincidense with the absense of Bobby Frankel on the Nyra circuit . He was truly a class act and brought many fond memories for me @ Saratoga and Belamont Park. There was a time in the early 2000's that Frankel/Bailey owned racing . May you RIP Bobby Frankel .

His accent could be recognized from mile away. He was labeled as arrogant, cocky, to me he was just a very confident individual. He was one of my idols. I loved his training methods, more than that I respect him still so much more for the love he expressed to his horses. I remember he had a horse back in the mid 80's called Fighting Fit. That horse had so many physical problems, that any other trainer probably would've screwed him up. But Bobby was as patient as can be with his horses. He would rather bypass the triple crown with a good prospect in order to make him a great horse than to ruin him running him before he or she was ready. He was a professional in every sense of the word. A very clean trainer when it came to his practices, always playing by the rules and winning by the rules. That is something to applaud given these days most trainers act more as vets than horsemen. To me he is up there with all the greats, and he deserves all the accolades. He will be dearly missed, and it is and end of an era, because his style was a throwback to the old days but always adapting to the times. So long Mr. Robert Frankel, you have been a true hero to me, god bless you.

Bobbby, I just saw the replay of Starine's win in the filly and mare turf. Won a few bucks cause I listened when you said she loved soft turf. After that I listened to everything you said. Thanks for the tip and the many wonderful memories. Ginger and Punch and family , friends and many many fans will miss you dearly. Especially that grin of yours. RIP

What a great loss for our sport. When his horses stepped on the track morning or afternoon you took notice. Was lucky enough to have one in his barn for a time and the place was spotless, everything in place. A credit to the business, we need more like him. Missing him already.

The race I'll always remember most is Squirtle Squirt beating my favorite filly, Xtra Heat ;-)

One of his horses I liked to watch run was Leroidesanimaux, plus I LOVED Ginger Punch.

In his honor, I like to propose that 1% should be removed from the winning payout pools for the rest of the season and donated to CANTER in Bobby's Name. The Frankel Fund! Who's with me?

I'd really like it to just stay that way personally but I'll take what I can get for the horses and Mr. Frankel's memory.

Becky - Thank you for posting the wonderful videos of the great horses Bobby Frankel trained. As I came late to horse racing it was an immense pleasure to see some of the great horses and races that I missed.

I share in Mr. Frankel's dim view of human animals & in his apparent reverence for other non-human animal species (remember: homo sapiens sapiens is simply one of many species in Kingdom Animalia).

Every individual--human or non-human, deserves to be treated with respect & according to her/his unique & species-appropriate needs.

Robert Frankel: Rest in peace & run free without pain or want with Happy & all the others waiting at The Bridge.

Truly a legend. From the days of his King of Claimers to an exceptional trainer of top graded stock. He was a master at placing horses at their proper level.

Yes, someone mentioned Al Mamoon, but, there was Wickerr before that fine runner. Even Buen Chico gave me thrills.

Rest Thee Very Well in Peace, Mr Frankel. There will be so many fine runners, up there, for you to claim. Might even shake up a match race against Charlie, eh? You will be sorely missed, both as a great trainer and a great Mensch.

The closest thing to a sure thing was Bailey and Frankel in a stakes race. Not since Ben Jones and Eddie Arcaro was there a team like that. Robert J. Frankel was truly a class act and his star shone brightly for many years in our sport. He set a standard of sustained excellence that will be remembered.

You could always tell a Frankel horse by it's impecable conditioning and grooming. I belive the man truly cared for his horses. Go with God Mr Frankel.
