He broke her and had her ready for Leroy, and his love for her never vanished. My father is 83 years old and until last week, would visit his &amp;quot;girl&amp;quot; at Newstead where upon seeing him, she would mosey over to him as he had a familiar peppermint ready for her along with a loving touch and a &amp;quot;Good ol&amp;#39; girl&amp;quot; My father has been around hundreds of horses, and champions, including Sword Dancer, the great Columncille and Ballet Rose, he always said Genuine Risk was the &amp;quot;toughest little hussey&amp;quot; he&amp;#39;d ever seen. My heart goes out to the Firestones, who like us, have lost a member of the family. Sweet dreams princess, enjoy the roses.&lt;/p&gt;

Also, she survived Leroy Jolley&amp;#39;s training - he didn&amp;#39;t believe in coddling his horses. &amp;nbsp;Actually, I think it helped that she was trained by a guy who didn&amp;#39;t mind &amp;quot;tightening the screws&amp;quot; on the good ones. &amp;nbsp;He prepared her for the rigors of the Triple Crown knowing that if she couldn&amp;#39;t stand his tough training she certainly wouldn&amp;#39;t be able to compete with the colts. &amp;nbsp;Truly a great, great filly.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The long happy life she lead is a testament to the love and care the Firestone&amp;#39;s gave her.&lt;/p&gt;
