Scot , I'm sorry this might be off the subject but , seeing the name Dynaformer brought up an intersting question in my mind ! This also pertains to great broodmares as well ! Why do the owners of the mare La Ville Rouge, Mr and Mrs . Jackson ,keep breeding her to Dynaformer ?? I loved Barbaro but , he was one of a kind and cannot be duplicated !La Ville Rouge is a wonderful broodmare and I think she deserves another option besides Dynaformer ! Barbaro's full siblings have done well but , it's time to switch gears ! I think La Ville Rouge would do quite well with Medaglia D'Oro and even the brilliant and top ten first crop sire Bernardini , would be an interesting match as well ! What I'm trying to say is , supposed Shenanigans was bred every year to Reviewer ? There still would never be another Ruffian :)

I think this mare will go for far less than people think. The negatives are big....lousy production when bred to top horses, unfortunately in foal to a freshman sire. The market for mares will be extremely picky. I can't see commercial breeders buying her. Race buyers wouldnt want her, she cant produce a runner. Tough sell here.

Might want to edit your blog post. Second bullet point has Dynaformer being a half sibling to Somerset West. Did make me grin because that would make his dam in foal to him this year.

Love At Noon was the first horse I ever bet on, Kentucky Derby Day, 2001. She (and almost every other dirt winner that day) set a track record.

I think we discussed (on your blog) Love At Noon before. Told you then that I saw her at the sales and thought her a knockout, physically. I'm also very high on her dam-one of her foals, "Theatrefest", was meant to be a really good one-and I almost bought Lemhi Gold (while carrying the Breeders' Cup winner).

So, Scot, why don't you try for her. I very much doubt that she'll bring anything near your appraisal, unless WinStar buys her back (she was withdrawn last year/or January). My guess is that she goes for something near 50.

Great article with a wealth of information.I will speculate that she goes for less. I'll say 85k largely due to the lack of production of a quality foal and the markets recent reaction to foals of freshmen sires.

Hello Scot , I had just ordered my catalogues for the Keeneland Nov. sales , I've been very busy lately :( I'll have to look the mares over , to give you a more in depth answer but, the mare you brought up , Hip 98 looks promising ! Aztec Pearl has a solid female family and being by AP Indy is a definate plus !
