Yes, Straight Deal is the one! Just found your note on her. I discovered her in those pedigrees some time ago and was rootin for her through those horses. I have a gelding by a stallion from her line--really great mover and incredibly athletic. Anything going back to La Troienne has that potential with Hail to Reason in there too a major bonus! He's the hero of the breeders cup too me.

Scot , Check out hip # 3784 Scaife Road. Anyone who's looking for a young mare with lots of stamina in her pedigree and a well proven female line , she could be it at a reasonable price , What do you think ?

Scot's reply: Interesting pedigree. The mare's dam is bred similarly to the useful sire Stage Colony (now deceased): by Pleasant Colony out of a daughter of the good mare Northern Meteor. (Northern Meteor produced two grade I winners, and her final foal--at age 24--was also a stakes winner.)

Awesome Feathers female line looks kinda " Awesome " She's decends from the excellent broodmare Quill her third dam , (family 5 g ) by Princequillo .Quill produced stakes winner and useful sire Caucasus by Nijinsky II and One For All by Northern Dancer , an excellent Broodmare Sire ! Awesome Feathers' sire Awesome Of Course , isn't really well known but ,has a nice pedigree and could do better with quality mares ! I have a feeling the reason Adena Springs acquired Awesome Feathers is because she was a perfect racing and breeding prospect and she's a granddaughter of the family stallion Awesome Again :)

Couldn't make it out to the sale today but I just watched hip 448 go through the ring, via Keeneland's video stream. Miss Abita is a great-granddaughter of Straight Deal, from the immediate family of Eight Belles. Went for $700,000.
