I bought one horse in a bankruptcy sale in o5. She won her first race. She has went on to win 5x with earnings nearly 60k . She is still the only horse I have ever owned. I am retiring her and bringing her home on the farm this week to possibly breed this year. I am in the midst of all the possibilities from pedigree experts and stud farms. Everyone has a different opinion. I wondered if it would be possible to use her as the next example pedigree. I know she does'nt have any real commercial value, but I want to raise a colt to race again hopefully one day. My question, is she a prospect for such a mating?, and if so, who to.

Her name is luknluv. By Best of Luck.

If you like him and he fits well with Queen Baily, that would repeat Queen Pat 3x4. It also gives you full brothers His Majesty & Graustark. There's a lot of good Darby Dan bloodlines with this cross.

If you like Giant's Causeway, then you might consider Freud or Roar of the Tiger as cheaper options.

When i first saw her pedigree, i thought she was nothing...but, when i researched her broodmare line i found out about how strong of a broodmare line she has. So, after researching, a family line popped up. a great cross with her Mr. Prospecter/northern dancer line...Flashy bull. When someone said something about Holy Bull and totally ruled his line out, take a look again. Holy bull himself would not be very good. But flashy bull has a very classy female side. Lyphard, manila ,blushing groom. All, from what i've heard, are decent broodmare sires. He has great conformation, great head on him. Not too expensive. I think it's a steal....7500 for a MGSW...not bad.

What do you guys think? i'm learning....

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree Review -- Queen Bailey

My dream horse for 'Queenie', as a previous comment suggested, would be Giant's Causeway and it would have been great to have had the opportunity to go to Roberto. The Purim suggestion is interesting as Film Maker is one of my all time favorite mares and Barbaro goes without saying!

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree Review -- Queen Bailey

I like Offlee Wild A LOT for Queen Bailey; and Strong Contender is a very nice horse, besides his pedigree. I can't really defend it, but I'd be interested to see a Kris S stallion on this mare.. Maybe, Action This Day??

On a whim I did some searching... But, if you were to breed-to-race, Publisher by Kris S could be interesting because it would duplicate Andover Way... Sadly, I think he's in Ireland.

As an outcross, you could aways go Slew.. She does leave you open to several possibilities given that she's Mr. Prospector-line. I think any Seattle Slew or A.P. Indy stallion (if you don't mind a X to Secretariat, and that preferably isn't out of an MP mare) could be lovely. Maybe Master Command, Golden Missile, Stephen Got Even... Am I crazy to think this?

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree Review -- Queen Bailey

I love her bottom breeding, if I recall I believe that Daryl's Joy was a descent broodmare sire.
I don't have a particular analysis one way or the other...but the question was "what jumps out at you?"

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree Review -- Queen Bailey

What immediately jumped out at me is the presence of Andover Way (Dynaformer's dam) in Supremo's damside. Without any further research...breeding her to a son of Dynaformer, or a stud out of a Dynaformer mare (if one exists) might be interesting.

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree Review -- Queen Bailey

I'm quite familiar with the line and if you're looking to bring this mare to the right stallion it's not going to be cheap. Street Cry is a must book for this mare. If his fee is too expensive i'd look into street sense. If you want a great classy foal who will have even great value unraced as a broodmare i'd send her right to street cry or his best son to date street sense. Boy o Boy was that first cop of his something!!!
