Thought this was worth a follow-up: if you liked Forever Jamie, you'll probably like Tiz a Rainbow (catalog page), a Tiznow (SRO) half-sister to Forever Jamie being sold at the Keeneland November sale. She's in foal to Purim (SRO) and is likely to be quite a bit less expensive than her sister was.

Forever Jamie's strong pedigree helped her come out well above average in a bad sales market. She sold Oct. 6 for $50,000.

the major question here is - are you buying to race the offspring or sell them at public auction? At first glance she looks really attractive on the page, but if you are buying the mare with the intention of selling the foals then you better hope the first dam produces some stakes horses. When the foal is offered, the first 2 dams are basically blank at this point. the first dam showed little talent at the track and the 2nd dam has no black type racing or produce. The 3rd dam is fabulous, but this day and age there are hundreds of offspring with blank first 2 dams and nice 3rd dams. She needs something to attract a buyers attention to her offspring's catalogue page.

I do like breeding mares to proven stallions for the first couple years. I agree with you that a Caro line stallion would be a nice pick for her considering the success in the family.
