The 8-year-old son of Prized has been compared to the legendary John Henry -- both are grade I winning geldings who put in long careers, after all. But the two share more than that, and we look back to the damsire of two

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree in the News -- BRASS HAT

What great news! What did the article say about Wanderin Boy, "his legs just gave out", Hmmmmmmm, Brass Hat has had previous injuries and so did good OLD Wanderin Boy. Pray real hard when this one runs again, it could very well be the last time you see him again, alive. Second of June, Eight Belles, Barbaro, George Washington, Pine Island, and the list unfortunately goes on and on and on. The horses SHOULD come first, not the fans or the betting public, but the horses.

The poor guy has recovered through so much. I don't want to be looking at pictues of him this year in some memory wall because he was euthanized for breaking down. BUt anyways thats bot what this post is about. I think that it is interesting that Brass shares some of the same lineage as John. John was a sturdier horse, but they both have that same desire to keep coming back and not giving up. It is a shame when some horses are guilded. But who woulda thought?

re: Thoroughbred Pedigree in the News -- BRASS HAT

The Bradley's have done a wonderful job managing Brass Hat's career. Buff's wife Kim deserves some acknowledgment for her role in bringing Brass back to the races. Kim has rehabbed Brass at the family farm in Ky. during each of his layoffs. Brass is not just a racehorse but a member of the family. Best of luck to Brass Hat and the Bradley's in 09.

I wish him the best and will be following his races. It's good to see older horses racing even if they are geldings. Also I hope Better Talk who also may be coming back does well.
