I wouldn't have guessed it's now 74 years running.

It's also cool to know that what Breeders looked for then is still what we look for today. Info wise that is.

How long, or in what year did the Bloodhorse start printing the Stallion Register ???

If anyone knows ???

Thanks.

Scot's reply: The first Blood-Horse Stallion Register was published in 1935. The format was different -- sort of a loose-leaf binder back then -- but many of the original features have survived to the present day. Good question!

re: Rate It! In general, I would love to hear more in the breeding columns about great racemares and how they're doing in the shed. It's easy to keep an eye on the influence of stallions, but the mares aren't as prominently featured in articles about current runners, and it seems they just ride off into the sunset once they leave the track. That said, the recent update on Rags was really interesting, and I can't wait to watch her babies come of age.

And also how many generations back do the Pro's really look at. Is 3-4 like the average sales catalogue good enough or should I really go back 7-8 generations ???
