While Hasili was an 2004 broodmare of the year overseas she has not been honored here in america.. And it is sad she should be.. With Breeders cup winners Banks Hill and Intercontinental she is the dam of 4 millionairs out of 5 foals, the other Dansili earning 500k and is a leading G1 sire in Europe..

I do think if i was going for an american based broodmare I would have to go with Justenoughheart

It has to be Hasili but I'm cheering for Justenuffheat because of the lack of the 'big names' in her pedigree. Though her owner was inspired to breed her to Rahy he has just bred her to the 'usual suspects' the last few years. I think it would be interesting to see her and Raffie's Majesty get together.

Better Than Honour won Broodmare of the Year last year, they don't often win two years in a row. Besides Casino Drive did very little last year. Does anyone know...has there been a repeat Broodmare of the Year? I voted for Vertigineux by the way...didn't read the article yet, but I know she has produced Balance and Zenyatta, and I think at least one more stakes winner..next year they will have to list Sweet Life. Hasili has to win this one though, she's incomparable really.

Penpoint is a wonderful mare -unfortunately she lives in California - I have found that on most of these pedigree blogs and polls - Stallions and Mares from west of the Mississippi are totally ignored. No matter how good they are.

Thought I'd recognize Penpont (NZ), California's 2007/2008 Broodmare of the Year. I believe she has five foals to race, all winners of over $150,000. Three have earned black type, including Grade 1 winner Golden Doc A and Grade 3 winner Unusual Suspect.
