My question was not used as well, but always enjoy listening to Mike since he is candid and honest. He has been associated with some wonderful horses besides the ones mentioned such as Lure,Inside Information as well as the whacky Coronado's Quest. His injury at Saratoga into that hedge was just painful to watch. I remember bursting into tears knowing the outcome would be a painful road to recovery for him. Owners and trainers can be fickle involving accidents and recoveries. I knew it would not be easy for his return. I was sorry to see him leave NY but...if he hadn't Zenyatta would only be a "possible some day dream" not a reality!

Even though my question was not selected i enjoyed the interview very much. I Think both Rachel and zenyatta are amazing but I hope that Zenyatta will be the Horse of the year. I look forward to hearing about her transition to farm life. I hope Mike Smith has many more years of Racing. I would have loved to know if he owns race horses or a horse that he rides for Fun.

I missed the deadline for questions. Wanted to know who Mike thought or knew who Zenyatta was going to be bred to?

Thank you for such a great interview. A comment regarding the show "Jockeys" is that in viewing such a program it stimulates interest in horse racing in general as it gives the viewer an opportunity to get to know jockeys at the subject tract and thus generates more excitement and loyalty to view actual races. Also, the "already" horseracing addict generates more interest in the sport by discussing with friends the realty show that will perhaps again draw a potential fan to horse racing.

I really enjoyed this interview with Mike Smith - - what a great guy, down to earth and very articulate! I thought his every answer was very smart, real & thoughtful. Congratulation to you Mike for all of your success over the years and CONGRATULATION to you and ZENYATTA for such a sensational Breeders Cup race!! Thanks to Jerry & Ann Moss AND John Shirreffs too. We (us obsessed horse people) watch and wait patiently for years for that kind of a performance and WOW. In a way I compare it to Secretariats Belmont Stakes. It was paramount. Mike, you earned your ride on her. She's one of those rare gifts and you appear very deserving of that gift. Best of luck to you in the future. I'll be rooting for you when the Triple Crown races are here.

wow thank you again my son was thrilled he listened to his with me and was so happy our comment got mentioned. i can't say enough of what a class act mike smith is i have met him when he rode at belmont and was thrilled for him to get such a grand win on a great mare. thank you mike smith you made my sons week
