Good call with Cetewayo, Stanley -- not sure if he was the oldest male, but he's one of just three 8-yo grade 1 winners.

Can anyone think of another more improbable victory than Da Hoss' win in the BC Turf Mile - the second time he won it?? A Huevos story is truly something to behold and it was certainly tragic when he broke down. I would like to see Michael take up training again as he certainly has a singular talent.

I was just starting to get into racing around the time he made his comeback. I didn't fully appreciate how amazing that feat was at the time, which is disappointing. I was intrigued enough to follow his progress though, and I remember anxiously checking the results of what was his last race. Which was one of the first times I had been exposed to such a tragedy in horse racing. He was special because he was seemingly an underdog, though I recall him winning races by huge margins. I don't think there will ever be a horse that had so many angles to him. I'm sure anyone could have found a reason to love A Huevo.

I'd forgotten about A Huevo...Michael Dickinson truly was a genius with racehorses.

Don't look now...with Tapeta footings at Presque Isle Downs and Golden Gate Fields, it's the synthetic surface not getting any bad pub. to the best of my knowledge.

Now, Meydan Racecourse in Dubai will have Tapeta surface on the main track which will be front and center with world class racing during the Dubai Carnival and World Cup program.

Is Michael Dickinson just mad? No, he's just a genius!
