What a nice story, and what a good looking pair of horses.

I can almost hear Wise Dan wondering why so much attention was being paid to Donnie and saying, "hey, over here boys and girls, don't forget to take a picture of me!"

Funny, I was thinking Wise Dan would be a great nominee for the Vox Populi, but now that the Dude is retiring, I'd rather see him get the award. If Danny Boy wins his next start, dazzles at the Breeder's Cup, AND the other superstars fall short between now and the end of the year, well, he could end up being nominated for Horse of the Year, AGAIN. It's a real possibility, stranger things have happened.

Thank you! Always love seeing Wise Dan. Wow but Donnie has beautiful eyes and I have always loved Dan's eyes. I have really come to respect Mr Lopresti for the love and care he has given Dan. Interesting that Donnie goes back to my beloved Secretariat.

Thank you so much for posting this! I read the article in my America's Horse, and I am so thrilled it was shared with the Bloodhorse as well! LoPresti is such an outstanding horseman! Needless to say, I'm a HUGE fan :) I ride cutting horses so I CANNOT wait to see his resultant foal from Smooth As A Cat. Talk about a powerhouse cross with his foundation bred mare! Woo!!!

Yes he's a good looking horse but never stepped out of his domain of grass miling,Goldencents is stepping out of his domain to come and meet him,lets hope he don't end up back in the hospital.

Great pictures! We'll all be rooting for WD Saturday. He's carrying 13 more pounds than the other 7-yr-old gelding in the race, but he can do it. Cheers to Wise Dan who looks wonderful.

What is comforting is that Charlie LoPresti and Morton Fink are all about what is best for Wise Dan. Wherever they do run, if there is even a tiny issue, they will not let Dan run. But you have to admit, he looks fantastic.
