How is Mo 10 lengths faster than Dialed In? Dialed In ran the Holy Bull in 1:35. If you think Dialed In was all out in his allowance race, you are just kidding yourself. Put Mo in the FL Derby if you want to make him battle tested. So far he has dominated Mountain Town, Boys @ Tosconova and Rattlesnake Bridge. Running a 1 1/8 miles in 1:49 is not going to cut it. And for the record, the KY Derby is run at 1 1/4 miles!

Time mo to the 7/8 pole after he finishes the race. You clowns said dialed in was the best,but unless mo runs that 1/8 in 15 seconds, he is 10 legnths faster than dialed in. Tapizar in his race at sa, ran 5 legnths faster than op. Mo' first race back and he is still 10 better than stay thirsty. This horse is the real deal

I hope you made a big score with that $2.10 payoff yesterday. Mo really burned down the track in 1:13 3/5, with that kind of speed all 3 year old colts should quit now. Maybe Churchill Downs should consider cancelling the KY Derby and just hand over the trophy to team Mo today.

I would like to know how you guys came up with the name Uncle Mo, see my brother name is Mohan, we call Uncle Mo after the nephews and nieces call him that. My mother sister name is Maya, she help raise us she lives now in london, Maya is the name of Uncle Mo mother of course the father name is indian.

Congrats Mr Repole. wish it was more of a test though. I would like to see him battle tested before the Derby. But he won and that is a hurdle in itself.

Thanks Mike for keeping us up to date and good luck on saturday.Should be a shoe in.Remember when you are at the top every one is your friend but make a mistake and look out.The people telling you how to train your horse,I wonder how many they are training.Anyway enjoy all the positive stuff and ignore all the negative.Still hoping Mo is the next triple crown winner.

I think that Stay Thirsty's win may indirectly be saying a good thing about the level that Uncle Mo is at now. I think Mo is the better of the two training buddies and a very positive influence on Stay Thirsty. We have all questionned (boy, did we question it!) the Timely Writer, called it funny names, and I even wrote a cute poem about it in one of Steve's other blogs called "Ode To Uncle Mo." It was all in such good thorougbred fun and in good faith and I hope Mo gets something out of the Timely Writer, enough to carry him to the Wood and Derby. Mo is in my top 3 and I hope you and he put New York on the map again as the "mecca" of all racing.

I hate to see Johnny V. take the blame for this Life At Ten debacle. It all goes back to the rule of who gets to scratch a horse from a race and when. The burden of responsiblity from the paddock to starting gate rests heavily on the jockey's shoulders

for all of that 10 minute or so timeframe, and the jockey may not see the horse often and know the idiosyncracies and charactistics of any particular horse as they have hundereds of other mounts. If he indeed told ESPN and they in turn relayed the info to the stewards how is Johnny V culpable?

I would question how Life At Ten was all that day and the hour or two prior to the race and on the walkover? This reaction, if that is what it was she had, just started after saddling? The owners did not walk over with her? No one else noticed anything amiss or way out of character? I agree now we've gotten nowhere fast in this thing and it opens up a whole new problem, whether or not to scratch every sluggish horse?

Again, if Soldat is too slow for Mo, and Madmen finishes behind Soldat, then how in the world is Madment to provide solid competition for Mo. He can't, according to your assessment of Soldat, so don't flipflop now.

Just read Mike Repole's article on the home page about UM's path to the Derby this year being similar to last year. It kind of sold me a little bit on UM but the ONE THING that I think everyone is waiting for is to see him race and race against some competition. His form at 2 was undeniably good and he was the best by far last year, no one even came close.

What the Draynays fails to see again and again is that the 2 yr olds of last year, some of them have now matured a bit, they have run and won in their 3 yr old season which means right now, they're ahead of UM. It's easy to figure out that Draynay doesn't know much about horses transitioning from 2 to 3 as he only relies on the little bit of information in the daily racing form called beyer and splits. It doesn't surprise me that he touts UM as the TC winner based on that information.

I said I was a little bit encourage that Mike R thinks his path to the Derby is similar to last year which means he could peak on Derby Day. Having said that though, I still will have to see him race tomorrow and then the Wood. Let's see how he runs tomorrow, not how he wins, how he runs, IMO, there's a big difference.

I'll let the GP fans enjoy Mo and I'll enjoy watching my current top pick for the Derby tomorrow. As I said in the other blog, based on his workouts, he should be ready to fire but I am not putting all my money on him. This is a tightener race as far as I'm concern, a race to stretch his legs and it's a good prep race, he has legit competition, a couple that might actually make noise come Derby day (Albergatti and RFO). I just want to see that he has matured and runs a professional race, win or lose.

I'm with Ted with his dedication bet to Zookeeper, I support him fully and would consider it an honor to take half of any of his winnings should RFO demolish this field :) Good Luck ZooKeeper!! I'll be rooting for you even though my derby horse is there. I wish they both make it to the big dance!

Soldat compared to Uncle Mo is nothing special but that is not to say he is not a talented horse compared to others. Nothing is good or bad except by comparison.

In regards to draynay's flip flop regarding Soldat. Haven't you learned by now he can't recall from one day to the next what he has said and you are only supposed to be paying attention on the extremely rare occasion he gets it right(odds on favorites do win some of the time)?

Forbidden Apple, at 2 Uncle Mo was as good or better than all the horses you listed. After Saturday he will be just 4 races away from being talked about in the same sentence as those horses you mentioned.

Forbidden Apple: I agree with Bill Finley's article on ESPN that Veitch is the one to blame for this incident. Admittedly, I do not know all the facts but Finley makes a good argument. I don't hold Velazquez responsible at all. What is he supposed to do? He alerted ESPN who then alerted the stewards. Is Velazquez supposed to do anything else when he is on a horse in a two million dollar race? I tend to think no. I also think if Pletcher was to blame you would have seen something in the report blaming him. I do not believe his status as a trainer has anything to do with the decision.

I felt at a loss when so many champions retired in 2010. Sort of the end of an era ... Recently, I've started to become familiar with young horses such as Uncle Mo, Zazu and others. I'm starting to get excited about horse racing again. Thank you Blood Horse!
