Next will come the Preakness waffle something like they held out horses so they would be fresh to meet Mo. Then he'll waffle b4 the Derby with someother lame idea to fall back on when Mo gets whipped.

Hey look another clueless comment by draynay who likes to act like he knows it all. Go back to handicapping 101 and try to learn something beyond how to spot the favorite. FYI draynay Guadalcanal was STILL a Maiden not even a Maiden winner when Big Brown spooked coming out of the gate and broke into him causing Guad any chance of winning the race. Guadalcanal did however whip Big Brown to the finish line. Big Brown caused his own problems and didn't have the heart to overcome it.

Mucho Macho Man ran a great race after having his shoe torn off at the start. I'm pleased to see he showed the heart to give it his all unlike Big Brown who a couple years ago lost a shoe and folded the tent. These things happen in racing and in both these cases it was their own fault but only one of the two showed the heart of a champion under adversity.

I'll repeat myself for your benefit. If any AP Indy or Bernardini colt wins the Kentucky Derby this year I'll retire from these blogs. AP Indy and/ or Bernardini can silence me forever. No moniker change. No kidding. This is how serious and certain I am about my pronouncements. I've put Bernardini into the equation, not because i don't believe that he can eventually sire a Derby winner. Its just that I'm certain that it will not happen for him as a first crop sire. The odds are astronomically against him. If I'm wrong the honourable thing to do would be to shut up and sign off after all my ramblings against the "great" stallion/sire of sires.

BTW after much debating I've given up on explaining to Slew, the difference between a Stallion siring a Derby winner and being a broodmare sire of a Derby winner. Maybe you can explain it clearer than I for the benefit of Slew and Jersey Boy. These are two diferent breeding performance categories but some folks don't or wont get it.

At this point my top Derby contenders are 1) Uncle Mo 2) Dialed In 3) Premier Pegasus 4) The Factor 5) Soldat 6) Mucho Macho Man 7) Santiva 8) Watch Me Go 9) Jaycito 10) Anthony's Cross 11) Master of Hounds 12) Animal Kingdom. If I knew for sure that Flashpoint was being pointed to the Derby, I'd put him in place of Animal Kingdom.

Ranagulzion: I'm glad to hear you're finally retiring. I'm sure others will miss you. To be honest with you, I think it's a good move. Need to stay away after that QR fiasco where you just put ALL IN on that horse, all the bragging and the talk about this superhorse and he just pretty much made you look like a fool. I can only imagine how hard that would be to take in on a public blog but you'll survive my man...you'll survive.

As I said to Draynay, try the Quarter Horses man, quick and dirty. You might do well in it.

Elite Alex to the Ark. Derby in a last ditch effort to get the earnings to go to Louisville? My prediction is that if he gets to Louisville he will finish ahead of Uncle Mo in the Derby. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it draynay.

Aluminaut: Super Saver's dam sire was AP Indy....but Ranagul just can't concieve of the major influence a dam brings. And runner-up Ice Box was by AP Indy son, Pulpit...so it already happened last year, but some refuse to recognize the pedigree.

That's a nice hit then, congrats! Just saw the payout, I kinda knew it was going to be big because of Nehro but didn't see it until today how much it paid. That's a nice betting fund for the Derby.

To add insult to my LA Derby pain, our car got towed today and had to pay 200.00 to get it back, then as a bonus, the hawaii parking authority added 50.00 for parking on a tow zone. They hide them "cleaning days" sign pretty well...I'm never renting a car here again...

Uncle Mo is gonna beat you in the Derby. When the chalk is solid you just have to find the sublime exotics.

I'm not into the "bull chatter" bragging about what I caught or didn't, after the races are run. I post some of my picks for all to see before race time so that you can draw your own conclusion from the results on the track. You have to admit that Jason has been doing quite well as one who not only posts selections but also shares his analyses.

Some handicappers need to be retired to the "breeding shed" but as teasers, since their handicapping pedigree is suspect, from recent observable results (LOL).

The second reason is his rider is Calvin Borel, winner of 3 of the last 4 Derbys. I'd back Borel if he were riding a three-legged burro in the Derby.
