Mr. Repole : The posts are drawn, good luck with Uncle Mo from the 18th post. It's a lot better than the 1 hole. Just from one horse racing fan to another, let us know if UM is a go. Hope you're not too carried away by the derby fever this close to the race that you still will let Mo tell you whether he should run or not, whether he's 100% or not. I'm sure you love the horse and will not put him in that kind of situation.

Draynay : The only chance Mo has winning the Kentucky Derby is if you stop touting him. You called his Wood Memorial race and easy race, the first or 4 straight that he'll win and what happens ??

When you were touting Nehro, UM was doing really well with his workout, his infection etc. Don't start again, we all know you cling on to the favorite everytime so it wouldn't surprise us that you're back on UM. Just bet your $1000 WIN money on him, no need to tell us the obvious...give Uncle Mo a chance.

I have to disagree with you regarding your comment that Uncle Mo is the best 3YO in the country. He has not delivered the best 3YO performance and consequently cannot be classified as same. He might be the 3YO with the best potential but if he has not deliver the best performances he is not the best 3YO in spite of his potential. I happen to think he is a good miler in top class company. Beyond a mile he is vulnerable in good company. It is unlikely that he will be able to escape those launching their challenges from mid pack and the deep closers. As good as he is, he might not hit the board. This will not be reflective of his class or ability but his stamina limitation at the distance.

My evaluation could be totally incorrect and he could serve up a big plate of crow for my consumtion. I doubt it as his running style if one dimensional. He is either on or close to the lead and he will have a lot of company upfront. I think Shackleford is a pace demon that will cause he and others to use a lot of energy early. Shackleford & Twinspired are the horses to beat from the local contingent and Master Of Hounds could win it all.

HRTV showed morning workouts on its Pursuit of the Crown show today. Hopefully we will be able to see Uncle Mo and Stay Thirsty in their workouts tomorrow May 1st, 12noon EST. Would love that.

Where are all the posters? That many people can't have jumped off the band wagon. They will be sorry. Go Mo! Go Thirsty!

Thanks for your participation in communicating with the fans. Horse racing needs people like you to help tell the story. Good luck to both of your horses. I can only imagine the stress involved at that level but even at my level know that you have to take time to enjoy the highs because there are many more lows associated with owning race horses.

Mr. Repole, I don't know how you do it ! Know you are a competitive guy and would like to tell some of these people how you really feel, but you are too classy for that. You walk the talk every time ! These bandwagon jumpers are the worst. Your horse(s) will do your talking for you . Thanks for putting the horse(s) first and for being so candid to use the word "ego". Even the best get beat sometime and losing tells you a lot about a person. I for one totally appreciate your availability and for never forgetting the fans. wish there were a hundred more like you and as I said people better appreciate you because while there may be "other" Mo's or Thirsty's there's only one Mike Repole ! YOU are the best !

It would not be a good idea for full disclosure for claiming horses,but for races where an owner might enter an unsound horse such as the derby,it makes sense.Kudos to taxman for your comments.It is time to expose the breeding practices for sale and not for soundness,and this cant hurt in this regard but, IMO will only help.BTW events such as the derby are where the sport can attract new fans,so to be against full disclosure on the horses that is a voice against the sport the way I see it.

I think you gotta like the track there and Zenyatta would have beaten Blame if they had her used to that track earlier. Blame, like Mo, loved Churchill. I hope I win the 100k bet contest and I can meet you at the winners party and congratulate you in person. Try to get some rest and enjoy the next week and a half. Thanks again Uncle Mike. It's so cool reading your blogs about UM and being in that amazing position of having not one but 2 Derby prospects. I don't expect medical reports with the race horses any more than I expect it from my competitors show hunters. It was generous to report on the GTI issue of UM. I know how secretive horses are in hiding illnesses and how hard it is to figure them out on a daily basis....and I'm good at it- having a barn full of horses and broodies trying to out fox me at foaling time. lol. The Neigh-sayers have lots of places to post their dribble, and it's not on fan pages or fan blogs. Continued success Mike....give the horses a carrot from us fans.

Thanks for doing these blogs. I am one racing fan who is grateful for the time you spend sharing your insight and information about your horses. I want to thank the Bloodhorse and Jason for giving us this kind of communication with the owner of two KD starters. This could probably be a once in a lifetime chance to have two starters in the Derby. What a ride for you!

My wife and I will be in Louisville all week and be guests of Churchill Downs for three nights and Oaks and Derby day for winning last years roadtotheroses.com. This is our dream come true, once in a lifetime trip and we're almost there.

I hope Uncle Mo has one good day at a time and is in the starting gate. I hope Stay Thirsty is back. Good Luck!
