It's soo funny that someone can comment that the only reason 3yr olds come back is because they weren't talented enough !!! Yea ok CURLIN wasn't talented whaterver !Well here's some TALENTED one's i'm looking forward to..MuchoMMan this colt did way to much and he wasn't even 3 when he ran the derby so look out cause he is coming.Nehro wow he was just getting started! Chucky. Game on Dude was not impressed with Uncle Mo's 118 Beyer either. He was a bit disappointed however, that Beyer did not write a full page article, like he did for Zenyatta (before the 2009 Classic) and Pioneer of the Nile (before placing in the Derby) as to why he was too slow to hit the board. Game on Dude thought he deserved better by Beyer.

I like Mr Commons at a flat, two turn mile on grass--miler to me has always meant turf---I love the miler's kick and Mr Commons has that in spades--better than Frankel? Let's say better chance to be in the Santa Anita starting gate in Nov...I like him, based on his potential--as I love Baffert's filly who recently broke her maiden after missing the break--looks like something very special--as does Mr Commons, after all this is horse racing--who did you have today in Shoviver? I had Bauble Queen, longest shot on the board--I also like a longshot tom: Pride Of Silver, in the sixth race, 6-1, she'll creep up to 10-1....I'm gonna put a little bit on her.....and Mr Commons....

I suspect you actually mean the best four 4YO to be on turf. Mr. Commons is yet to win a Gl race from three attempts. All his victories were achieved in CA. The Gll Sir Beaufort was his first graded victory in six attempts. His 3YO resume hardly reflect that of a colt that will be dominant as a 4YO. Brilliant Speed has a better resume and is more likely to be the dominant 4YO on turf. He is a turf horse who was good enough to finish 3rd in the Belmont. He won the G1 Bluegrass and finished 3rd to the best Europe had on offer in the G1 Breeder Cup Turf Classic. Brilliant Speed does not appear to be a miler but when a horse has class the distance rarely matters.

“He will win the BC Mile and he will rate as the world's best miler for 2012”

It is likely that Frankel will be visiting the shores of the United States in 2012 to contest the Breeder Cup Mile. Are you suggesting that Mr. Commons is in the same league as Frankel? Are we in an open season for insanity? Mr. Repole suggested that Uncle Mo would defeat Frankel at a mile and now you are forecasting that Gll winner Mr. Commons will be rate the best miler in the world on turf. This is in spite of the unbeaten and five times Gl winner Frankel returning for a 4YO campaign.

Mr. Commons is a nice colt but I suggest you be more measured with expectations and predictions.

December 30th: Joyful Victory, five furlongs in 1:02 at Fair Grounds.

December 27th: Jaycito, six furlongs in 1:13 3/5 at Santa Anita.

December 24th: Soldat, three furlongs in :36.12 at Palm Meadows Training Center.

December 24th: Animal Kingdom, three furlongs in :38 at Fair Hill.

December 24th: Toby's Corner, three furlongs in :38 at Fair Hill.

December 17th: Rogue Romance, three furlongs in :38.10 at Payson Park Training Center.

December 13th: Dialed In, three furlongs in :36.12 at Palm Meadows Training Center.

In addition, S. S. Stone, who won the Skip Away Stakes (gr. III) over the likes of Drosselmeyer, Jackson Bend, and Ron the Greek last April, has returned to the work tab. Injured during his Skip Away victory, the son of Birdstone has breezed three times this month, most recently going a half-mile in :49.88 at Palm Meadows Training Center.

You may be right. There should be enough speed to set up her late run, but Home Sweet Aspen is probably capable of going gate-to-wire if she gets a good start from post position one.

I too am looking forward to seeing Game On Dude this winter at Santa Anita. He won last year's Santa Anita Handicap in 1:59.47, and one could argue that he is better now. Who knows how fast he could be capable of running this March. It should be fun to see.

WHAT DOES THIS OVERRATED BEYER NUMBERS HAVE TO DO WHEN A HORSE HAS TO RUN IN A REAL TEST OF A THOROUGHBRED AT THE CLASSIC DISTANCE OF 10 furlongs...

UM, Rachel, HdG, Quality Road....all HYPE AND NO CLASS GOING TEN FURLONGS.....

Pedigree Ann, I understand your point of view about Zenyatta. Yes, it was one way they could have campaigned her. They chose another route and I respect and agree with it. They had their reasons. I also respect the way Rachel was campaigned. There is room enough for both points of view in horse racing and both should be respected. Lets everyone be happy fo what we had, which was one hell of alot. Keelerman, really good job.

I know she won't turn 4 until the following day but Turbulent Descent will be back in the Grade 1 La Brea this time without ZAZU.

The way the track played opening day, she may not be able to close. Could be an upset in the making.

go to Canada to stand there and unfortunately ran/smashed into a paddock fence is what i read.

I guess he was not going to let a paddock fence fence him in.

We hear about paddock accidents and this certainly is one of them and no matter which horse, it is a shame.

5-2 on The Factor was a late Christmas gift! 22, 44, 107 and change finishing up in 119 for 7 furlongs! He popped the gate and was already 3 lenghts clear of the field. Can't wait to see Game On Dude over that jet strip. Keep them going right into Breeder's Cup Time.

Hmmm, I think that Z could have run against the colts fairly easily,yet very happy she retired healthy, and that's that.

I'm very excited to see Hansen, yet sentimentally rooting for Union Rags because of Matz' past with Barbero. Can't wait for Awesome Feather this year to see what she'll do (still undefeated), as well as Havre de Grace and Premier Pegasus. I hope all of the 3 yr olds that took time to recover come back healthy and stay that way. We lost quite a few "coming down the stretch" so to speak.

The dam is Tap Your Feet by Dixieland Band, out of Exotic Moves, who traces back to Damascus. Nice breeding, seems like they were concentrating on trying to get some distance in there.

The 3 year olds are returning at 4 simply because there is already a glut of productive stallions at stud. To pull them now would simply be lowering their stud fees...so they'll be back to run next year.

Horses I'm most looking forward to watching in 2012, To Honor And Serve, Caleb's Posse, Boys At Tosconova, Toby's Corner, Frankel, and still keeping my fingers crossed for a better year for So You Think.

Lovely run by Mr Commons on Monday with a nice surprise from the Factor (who I usually feel is too inconsistent to bet on.)

Keelerman - I like the name Henry the Aviator as well. Especially like that he is half to Eddington. Kingmambo was bred to Fashio Star and Produced 2003 bay horse Star Crowned (who earned 200,000 + pounds) and was third at five in the Dubai Golden Shaheen.
