After 20 hours of analizing the race, BIG BROWN will win by 1 1/2 lenghts over RACECAR RHAPSODY and 4 lenghs over third place GAYEGO , so the bettors there you have the exact trifecta . Yesterday I saw the preakness CURLIN , STREET SENSE ,HARD SPUN , CIRCULAR QUAY , 4 CLASSIC HORSES . this year just ONE CLASSIC (BIG BROWN )and the person who wrote that GIACOMO was a good horse , no doubt he was a stake winner like his brother TIAGO , but never a CLASSIC , like BARBARO-BERNARDINI (2006 )and STREET SENSE-CURLIN (2007)and that year AFLEET ALEX was the classic one.And POINT GIVEN belongs to other generation and that was a really Classic Horse.

Mike from Ossineke, MI-- your question about how BB spooked when seeing Eight Belles down an excellent one. Actually, the response shows me BB's intelligence-- "what is that horse doing down on the ground, gee, she is not supposed to be down there, I had better bolt"-- the ancient "take flight--danger" response at work. He really must have spooked good to get Kent off his back.

Bottom Line-- won't effect him a lick in the Preakness-- BB strikes me as a very well-wired horse-- "bomb-proof", as we say in the trade. And yes, while Jason is undoubtedly correct in that BB doesn't recall what he ate for breakfast, the fact is my ex-flat racer also a very sweet and level-headed Guy, and yet routinely gigs when he seeing a paper plate flapping in the wind when used to mark a pathway at an event, and if I give him some oral paste meds in a syringe and then do not wash off my hands REAL good after holding the syringe and before giving him his sugar cubes, he will smell the meds on my hands and spit out the sugar, in the apparent belief I am trying to poison him. They don't call it "horse sense" for nothing. You handicappers might take judicial note :-)

I just read that Big Brown will be retired after his 3 yr. old campaign. I know this isn't the right blog, but this is a prime example of what is killing this sport. I want a triple crown winner in the worst way, but this sport needs some heroes that the people can follow and watch them run 3 or 4 yrs. Curlin is the best thing that has helped horseracing but it would be so much nicer to see him run more in the U.S. and not so much abroad.

Yo J what's up...Philly here brother...miss you at the Oaks Turf Club. Big Brown over Gayego, Behindathebar and Yankee Bravo for $50 exacta's and a $12 Tri Key. Big Brown on the front and/or back end of a Daily Double. He'll get tested in the Belmont though because the Peter Pan winner Casino Drive from what I've been reading is a clone/mirror image of the Big Boy. Either way watch that SHOW POOL ON THE TOTE BOARD...I heard there will be alot of "BRIDGE JUMPERS" BETTING...YOU MIGHT SEE 5,000,000 ON HIM TO SHOW!!

Big Brown and Kent Desormeaux will win. Yes, Casino Drive beat Big Browns time in the Fla. Derby.(CD- 147.87) and (BB-148.16) yes, @ 1 1/8 mi.Big Brown 2:01.82 @ 1 1/4 mi.From the 20 spot! and going around the turns 4 wide = 4 lengths behind as we all know. For every horse that is out wide is one length behind. Kent rode CD but that was all he had. Yutake will be the rider for CD.(LOOK who is the trainer & Owners! What was the that comment from Wilson about Curlin ducking BB in the Classic? Are you on drugs Wilson? That race is 5 months away and the connections of Curlin are plotting a course of races for him.Maybe you forgot but Curlin danced every dance in the Triple crown,Won the BC Classic,And the World Cup.I don't think they have to duck anyone at this point! But hey if he can do what Curlin did last year,it will be a heck of a race.

Big Brown was certainly impressive in the Derby, and may well command another victory in the Preakness -depending on the condition of his feet. But in the Belmont, he won't hold. Racecar Rhapsody is my bet for the Belmont. He has a serious come-from-behind style, and will love the longer distance.

This guy and many like him work 20,30 years and sometimes a lifetime to get a horse anything like Big Brown. Is he a little giddy? YES..! And why not? ... you don't get to enjoy this ride very often so drain it for all its worth. Let people enjoy themselves... let them smile and laugh and brag a little about their amazing horse. Its called life and you need to enjoy the ride! For those of you who said..."Hey he's bragging"...Stop your whining... maybe you have never had anything to brag about... let me tell you it can be fun... I brag about my wife all the time...try it some time ... I hope everyone in their lifetime has something to brag about if not ... you never really lived.

If BIG BROWN would not run this race(THE PREAKNESS ), I would bet my house , my car and even my wife on RACECAR RHAPSODY . Prep races , conditions and pedigree . The only tip I can give against THE FREAK BB.This could be next BERNARDINI if something happens to THE CHAMP , like BARBARO . HOPE NOT , for bettors safe .

People do any of you know who casino drive is???????? he is a sibling to the last two winners of the belmont jazil and rags to riches I love big brown and I would love to see him win the triple crown but he will need to run his best to beat casino drive I think I can gaurentee it will be a horse race......

Did you see Dutrow's latest comments?! Boy this guy is really a piece of work. Anyway, on to more important things....Big Brown was really spooked at Churchill when he saw Eight Belles down. Do you think it will affect him in his upcoming races? Do horses remember events like that? Just curious.

Asmussen is not ducking BB, Curlin is possibly being pointed towards a richer race (the arc) or staying on a dirt surface in Jpn Cup and becoming more of a world traveler. BB unlikely to keep racing. anyway, wants no part of Curlin. let's not get so far ahead of ourselves though. The Preakness and Ste. Foster will tell us more.

gustavo, Giacomo was a good horse. He is well bred and I think he'll be a great stallion as well. Just because most people couldn't figure out that he was a good horse before the derby doesn't mean that he wasn't the class of that field. He proved that with a very respectable run in the Breeder's Cup vs. Invasor and Bernardini. He is forever a champ of the Derby and Point Given will never have that. Never

Big Brown is going to win the triple crown undefeated and Curlin is making plans to duck him in the BC Classic as we speak.

Big Brown straight tri with a couple of combinations is the way to go. I'm glad Gayego is in the race I think he gets 4th at best but not in the tri and maybe not even the exacta.

I love BB in the Preakness. I feel he will romp again due to fact that Rocker is out. I just feel the Belmont he might fall out of the money. Casino Drive and Denis of Cork will be fresh and BB will be used during the stretch during the belmont. Hit UPS with Kentucky Bear and Racecare Rhapsody and see what happens.
