For future reference, here's an easy way to remember where Belmont Park is in NY State: Take the word Belmont, drop the B, and you have the location, Elmont.

Followed your suggestion about the Marine Weather website. I entered the zipcode you provided to us -14813- and Belmont, NY popped up. The map looked a little funny even to a gal from South Carolina,so I kept reading. Guess what? Belmont, NY is up near Buffalo.

Dray, Belmont Park is in ELMONT, NY! Zip is 11003.

Glad I caught this for you before you relied on your Marine Weather map of Belmont, NY to get to the track on Saturday for the race. That sure would have been a FLUKE.

First off, This is a Game/Contest, It is actually a great concept by Jason, Kudos to him. By going by the interest it has generated(Almost 500 comments, so far) I am sure alot feel like me, It is for fun, Wiz. And no, I don't take anything personnal here, It is all in good fun, like I said. It is your prerogative to participate or not, Do what ever you like.

The Stakes are quite interesting either way, Wiz, Either one whole month of no Dray or Dray gets his own Blog to write about, Either way, It would be interesting and fun, No matter how it turns out, But I won't lie to you, I would love to have Dray Eat his Words about, Mine that Bird if, and when, He wins....

I have been watching these Classics for a very long time and I am a huge fan of the mile ahalf races. With that said I have found the Belmont Stakes winner many times by seeing which horse came flying in the Preakness Stakes. I predicted Touch Gold over Silver Charm when I saw him in the Preakness. Alysheba should have won the Belmont and the Crown as he was that type of horse but due to the way he got boxed on the rail and not a good trip he just couldn't get it done that day. If you want a surprise I would look at Flying Private and being from the Raise a Native line he will like this distance. Charitable Man is the real threat along with Dunkirk. Also the sons of Birdstone, the Derby winner and runner-up in the Preakness Mine That Bird, and Summer Bird will like this distance also. Let's not forget that their daddy is Birdstone who had that late kick and is also from the Raise a Native line. I usually throw out the Northern Dancer horses as this distance usually isn't what they want though there are always those few that don't follow the rule of bloodlines. My top choice has to be Charitable Man with a side bet on Flying Private. And we had better not forget any horse trained by Nick Zito.
