Well the owners of Denis of Cork got what they deserve for being idoits and not running DOC in the Rebel. If it was do to the horse not being healthy then why run him in the Ill Derby since it was obvious he was not 100% for that race? Owners like this need to be thrown out of racing.

Pyro = slow horse that beats the horses he runs against. To me, time only matters if you`re in jail. He`s never been worse than 2nd in his life and all those times were against a runaway War Pass. I think they should make a jockey change on Georgie Boy for the upcoming race. He`s already got the earnings money and it would give the jock a better feel for the horse. I sure hope they don`t run 1:14 for the opening 3/4`s in the SA Derby like they did in the last. If they set fractions like the sprinters they are it would set up nicely for my pick Yankee Bravo.

Well, "Brownie" did a helluva job!! He needed the win, they sent him and he got it---but he NEEDED it, they put him into the race earlier than they probably would've liked---a bounce is possible, but Big Brown is now the Derby favorite.....Kent D will probably win the SA Derby on Georgie Boy, and then dismount him for the Derby, not a smart decision by Georgie's owners---these two have impressed me as very nice horses---Pyro has not, his times are too slow, and let's not forget about War Pass......

Cannonero II's Derby was my first, age 12 and rooting for Unconscious, who was a good horse----but Cannonero was also a good horse--a very good horse and also very overlooked----his Preakness proved his quality---I saw him work one afternoon, before he made his first start as a four year old, at Santa Anita between races......I was alone at the 1/2 mile fence and he was beautiful---and strong!! He was a mismanaged horse, overraced 9 (he started out at Del Mar and even ran vs June Darling the filly), then ran many races in Venezuella before storming what was a very weak 3yo crop....Cannonero was really the best 3yo of that crop.....

Sure ..Cannonero came from South America and beat us. Anyone know why Tomcito has not raced since Nov.17? If Tomcito wins the Florida Derby then I will have no regard for the rest of the horses in that field, and I certainly will not consider any of them in my quest for the winner of the great KD.

Unbridled Vicar has only won his maiden race...nothing else.. Denis of Cork struggled to beat him... pass on Denis of Cork.

Tomcito will have enough earnings if he wins the Fla Derby Saturday. Tomcito has excellent breeding: He carries the Raise A Native sire line, a sire line that has gotten 15 Derby winners since Majestic Prince in 1969. No other line has done nearly as well. Tomcito is a Rasmussen Factor horse being inbred to Natalma both top and bottom in his pedigree. Rasmussen horses have won more than their expected share of Derbies. Tomcito has already won at 12 furlongs which is a sign of some stamina and he also carries the Phalaris/Nonphalaris pedigree pattern. Go Tomcito.

`Cork was wide in his allowance race over a sealed surface. The horse he beat, Unbridled Vicar, had run several competitive races until his La Derby clunker. I want Tomcito to run a big race since his story reminds me so much of Canonero II from way back when.

Remember that the Lexington at Keeneland is 2 weeks before the Derby and is graded with a $325K purse. Gives horses one last chance to bump their graded earnings. Based on Big Brown's performance next week, he might need the Lexington...

Denis of Cork`s FG race was his first going two turns, raced wide most of the way around and looked as if he really didn`t care for an off track. The horse he beat, Unbridled Vicar, had run very well until turning in a clunker in the La Derby. I do think the ground he made up in the Southwest was deceptive though in that the leaders were more coming back to him rather than him going to them. I look for him to run big in the Wood. As for Big Brown, I think he has health issues, but the speed favoring surface @ GP will be an advantage.

Denis of Cork? Why talk about a horse that had to stress in a allowance race? I really want to see Big Brown destroy the field and earn his way into the Derby. I think its going to be a cake walk for him... just too much talent.

Winning the Del Mar Futurity last early Sept, enabled Georgie Boy's connections to turn him out early in his 2yo season, secure in knowing he had enough graded earnings for the big dance.....now, fresh, filled out, back on the track---he's in a good spot---he certainly looks like a good one---if he gets the distance, and that's a big "if", for all of these--allthough I think Dennis Of Cork gets the distance---but if Georgie Boy gets it---I think he gets the roses....
