Now that new freshman sires are coming out, it is apparent that the AP Indy/Mr. Prospector cross could be the sire influence of the future.

Malibu Moon, Mineshaft(having a much better year), Congrats, Indy King(the jury is still out on this one but he does have one really good runner), Pulpit(of course), and even Bluegrass cat has this cross on his dam.

I believe John Sparkman has already wrote about this sensation.

Seems Pulpit just can't get that classic runner. Maybe Ice Box will be the breakout. Pulpit probably needs to be bred to more classic broodmares like Unbridled.

I relish reading stories like this. LaTroienne is also the gr dam of Lucky Bar (TB), the sire of Impressive. Lucky Bar is a son of Three Bars. The most influential sire in AQHA history. Great article in BloodHorse about LaTroienne.

This is a fascinating column. But it makes one wonder how many with Pulpit's inheritance, came to nothing. One reads the family tree and says this was bound to be a great sire but I imagine there are numerous stallions with equally stellar forebears who don't come near Pulpit in producing stars.
