Further evidence of stamina on the distaff side of Gio Ponti is provided by Repent, a multiple G2 winner who placed in the G1 BC Juvenile and the G1 Travers. The 4th dam of Repent, Claretta, is a full sister to Jungle Queen, Gio Ponti’s 4th dam.

Interestingly, Repent also has a connection to Awesome Gem. As noted, Awesome Gem’s female family produced Louis Quatorze – the sire of Repent. The female families which came together to produce Repent have struck twice this past weekend with these two G1 stakes winners; Gio Ponti and Awesome Gem.
