&lt;p&gt;You are so right. &amp;nbsp;Alluvial was a wonderful broodmare and Alluvial (to me) will always be the one you mentioned. &amp;nbsp;Not sure it was wise to name a stallion after a mare. Perhaps the stallion, Alluvial will be a good broodmare sire :)&lt;/p&gt;

His female family is deep in quality black type !&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For some reason though , every time I see the name Alluvial , I think of the dam of Slew O&amp;#39; Gold ! The mare Alluvial , By Buckpasser - Bayou by Hill Prince , isn&amp;#39;t quite as close to the Horse , Alluvial &amp;nbsp;on the female line&amp;#39;s side . She was a good broodmare , producing champ Slew O&amp;#39; Gold as well as Belmont winner Coastal and Dokki , dam of JC Cup Gold winner Aptitude .I will always be a fan of Slew O &amp;#39;Gold &amp;#39;s because he was the first horse I followed closely when I became a pedigree fanatic ! Forgive me for going off the subject !&lt;/p&gt;
