Check out the link to Alan's article in the first paragraph of this post. He covers the top 10 freshman sires -- including Congrats -- in that article.

He is doing very well...and once again, AP Indy/Mr Prospector.

Also note that Bluegrass Cat has this cross underneath on his dam.

Interesting indeed.

Can't wait to see if the success continues and descendants meet up.

Now It looks like he's doing well as a sire ,so far . I agree with Robert , Stay Thirsty is a colt to watch ! I think his next start should be in the Hopeful Stakes ! With T Pletcher as his trainer , this colt will be around on BC Day !!

I can remember back in 1996 when the Breeders Cup was held at Woodbine, Touch Gold was running in the undercard as a 2 year old in the 7 furlong Swynford Stakes. He finished second that day to his stablemate Holzmeister, who was a son of Woodman out of the Danzig mare Harbour Club and to be very honest with you it was hard to imagine that just one year later Touch Gold would go on to win the Belmont Stakes.

Storm Cat may have had that reputation, but there are many stallion sons of Storm Cat who don't share these features. I suppose with any mating you wouldn't blindly inbreed to any ancestor unless there were other positive pedigree, conformation, and aptitudinal factors at play.

Also, compare progeny of Tabasco Cat, Harlan, Forest Wildcat, Forestry, and Hennessy -- they are all very different influences.

On another note....I would NOT inbreed to Storm Cat if you paid me. His propensity for bad minds and bad knees, as well as not getting a distance of ground tells me to look in another direction for a horse to inbreed to.
