I could just as well be wrong ! Officer's progeny are win early type horses ! I've never seen one as a classic prospect , maybe the Coronado's Quest on his dam's side may help ? He's inbred 5sx4dx5d to In Reality , plus he's inbred 5sx5d to Raise A Native with a DI of 3.00 and CD of +0.88 . I know he's below that magic number 4.00 , but I just cant see him going 1 1/4 miles !

On another interesting note , The Hopeful Stakes was a Man O' War exacta, so to speak, The winner Boys at Tosconova traces back in tail male to Man O' War ! Stay Thirsty who ran a nice second is related to Man O' War through his 8th dam Masda , a full sister to Man O' War ! It's also interesting to note that Man O'War won The Hopeful !

On the subject of Coronado's Quest, he's also broodmare sire of Soldat--beaten by Wine Police in the race above but 6 lengths from the third horse. He came back yesterday to win the With Anticipation (gr. III) on turf. Soldat is the first GSW for War Front.

From only five U.S. crops he's already represented as damsire by Kodiak Kowboy (whose first crop are weanlings of 2010) and grade I-winning filly Mani Bhavan. And those three lines of In Reality aren't random: they come (through the two damsires and the sire line) from In Reality himself and his two most successful stallion sons. He wasn't on my radar especially, but I'll be watching now.

Agreed. Boys At Tosconova is an absolute freak...

Had I been there (wish I had), he would have been among the few to single out for inspection-purely due to his pedigree. Well, recent articles now indicate that this horse is a real looker. Should this be true, then I'd have to say there's a reasonably good chance that "Boys" may be the best stallion prospect running, anywhere. Bold statement, I know, but with his already apparent great ability, likely good looks, and a good-enough and much needed pedigree profile, this is an extremely desirable stallion in the making. I haven't felt this strongly about one since Unbridled's Song or Indian Charlie. I'd probably breed to him now, even if he never ran again. I've followed his tail-female for seven generations (back to the days of What's New's-"New Act"). This old Greentree family is the real deal, and Boy's descends consistently from among its best representatives. He's a better prospect (pedigree-wise, etc.) than was his sire Officer (who's good enough), and the 3x In Reality linebreeding is an added plus. Just the sort we need here in our stallion ranks. I say all this because I want others to get excited about him---want to support him (as a stallion)-so that there'll be less chance that we'll lose him (as his present owners might later be concerned that his pedigree is insufficient to receive adequate support). I think this guy is the real deal.

The Champagne should be awesome: Uncle Mo vs. whoever wins the Hopeful. Then again, Boys At Tosconova might dominate the Hopeful and then go straight to the BC Juvenile.

I checked out Rough Sailing's maiden win; visually impressive, but even considering the soft turf, they went 1:17 2/5 for 6 furlongs, so I'm not sure how much you can read into such a gallop-and-sprint over that ground.

Also, he's a Mizzen Mast/Woodman with pronounced turf action. I'm not sure dirt is in the cards for this guy, but I guess you never know.
