We bought a Congrats colt at OBS Aug sale and he is turning out to be a bargain.This colt has determination and loves to be on the track.I'm having a hard time!!!! take him to auction or run him.I guess I'll make up my mind by sale time.

Hi Pete,

I think Alumni Hall - Pure Sizzle is well worth a shot. In addition to the A.P. Indy/Storm Cat cross, you also have some other positives. Pure Prize is out of a mare by Seeking the Gold, who is very good with A.P. Indy, and you also get Raise a Native through Mr. Prospector and Alydar (who can combine well, and are similarly-bred), along with a sister to Raise a Native in the female line of the mare.

Hello Alan...Great info..Can't get enough of Storm Cat, Mr. P and AP Indy(Newest sire of sires in my book)

I'd like your opinion/analysis on breeding my young mare Pure Sizzle (by Storm Cat stud Pure Prize) to the AP Indy stud Alumni Hall...very similar cross to Turbulent Descent and Wickedly Perfect. She has a handsome weanling colt by Best of the Bests. Thx....

Congrats set some remarkable fractions as a five year old when second in the Ack Ack H. at Santa Anita. That, along with his maiden win at 2 was enough to convince me that he had enough "giddy up" to be a sire of 2 year olds if exposed to the right mares.

About 3 weeks before the Breeders Cup, I sent my owners a pedigree with Congrats on the top of our Fly So Free mare "So Fly". I told them I wanted to send the mare to Congrats because he stood for only $5000.00 and was only 5 miles from the farm where we kept the mare. Of course we didn't get that booking done as he was already oncourse to come to Kentucky, even though the announcement was not made for another 3 weeks. Now that he is $15,000.00, maybe I will pull a "Tesio" and breed to his full brother for 1/2 the price. I get the same pedigree either way.

Thanks for mentioning that. I fixed it. Yes, of course A.P. Indy is Bluegrass Cat's broodmare sire and Congrats's sire.

That first paragraph is a little mis-leading, as it says Congrat's broodmare sire is A.P. Indy, if Im reading that correctly. Confusing.
