another thing in the Blood Horse i find alot of times when a Fla bred wins a stake they seem to forget to mention the state.

I've collected blood Horse mag. for over 50 years and glad but now that i go online i see that Fla. gets less said about(until this year when we've done so great) and never see a Ky bred forgotten

Interesting comments. I'm not sure if Florida is any different than other places. Stud farms try to maximize the value of their stallions, and if a stallion can generate more revenue by moving to another region, then they are usually relocated accordingly.

Same with stud fees, they usually reflect commercial appeal, which means there will be values for the informed breeder who is willing to defy market fashion. Like you say, Bwana Charlie and Bring the Heat are two prime examples.

Is not the idea to breed race horses NOT sales horses. I remember when Bwana Charlie came to Sequel and everybody loved him. Three years later and a realistic(continues to decline) stud fee followed and still no none wants his offspring. Next year when he stands in Okla for $500.00 will he find love. Another interesting non commercial play from same sire line is Bring The Heat. Go figure?
