It&amp;#39;s funny to think that if Mine That Bird had got blocked in the rail, Pioneerof the Nile, from Empire Maker&amp;#39;s second crop, would have been a Derby winner.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Empire Maker had 19 stakes winners, 10 graded, and 5 graded one from his first four crops of three-year-olds, and grade two winner Battle Plan was probably a top-class horse in the making. I also liked that he was turning into a very good cross for Seattle Slew/A.P. Indy. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
