I thought Ron The Greek looked awesome in winning the Santa Anita Handicap. This horse looks like a distance horse should look. Long neck, long body, big nostrils, and a hip that goes on for a mile.....well... a mile and a quarter! His time was excellent and judging by how well he is running right now, Bill Mott is loaded for Bear this year in the handicap division. His sire is another son of A.P.Indy that is underrated and is a bargin at $2500.00. I never stop being amazed at how many top class runners are out there with A.P.Indy in their pedigree's.

It was good placement by Bill Mott to send Ron The Greek

out west to win the Santa Anita H,Cap.His story shows the

tremendous patience a good trainer like Mott can have to

bring a horse back to win a race like that.It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Both Pulpit and his son Tapit have had promising runners

on the Derby trail before with the latter having the latest

contender,Hansen.He looked good with the change of tactics

in the Gotham so we will see what he can do in the Wood Memorial.

On an update about Frankel,it looks like his first race as

a 4 year old will be the one mile Lockinge Stakes at Newbury

in May.
