Arctic Dancer ressembled Northern Dancer more than any of their other siblings, or, for that matter, any of his foals. She even had the air of an explosion waiting to happen.

I have 4 Proud Citizen yearlings or sucklings and am breeding 2 mares to Proud Citizen this year. He is one of the most versatiles sires standing in Kentucky today. They have quality and they can run on any surface.

So when I started to become a Northern Dancer Groupie (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth), I also followed anything to do with his family. I remember cutting out (for my scrapbook) a picture of Arctic Dancer when she was at the yearling sales. As time went on (eons?), I was pleased to see how her family progressed, including Danseuse Etoile et al.

Nice to see the family continuing into the 21st Century.

I have watched this horse with a keen eye since I first saw him on the track and knew his breeding. I have a mare whose 3rd dam is Danseuse Etoile. The inbreeding to this mare is very attractive. My mare (So Fly) also has unique inbreeding to Tom Rolfe which added a ton of stamina to the pedigree. Her now 2 year old by Quiet AMerican is currently in training and we await his debut. The Mr. Prospector line seems to work well with this family and corssing to Proud Citizen might just unlock a super racehorse. I would be interested to know your thoughts Alan.
