&lt;p&gt;was always the one mile of the 2000 Guineas as he looked like a horse that would be more suited to 10 to 12 furlongs&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;but he came through with flying colours and it is on to the 12 furlong Epsom Derby for him now.&lt;/p&gt;

I am very saddened by the loss of both Montjeu and Grand Slam&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;sad to hear about his early demise.As well as his success&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;with derby winners ,like his sire he had some good runners &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;over the jumps including the 2011 Champion hurdle winner&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hurricane Fly.Let us hope especially his derby winners will&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;keep his name to the fore for many years to come.&lt;/p&gt;
