I would like to mention Johar. He's been represented by a load of 2 year old winners in 2008 and for a horse of his profile & pedigree I think that augers very well for the future. I'm unsure of his fee but it won't be far north of $10000 and he stands at a farm who know what they're doing.

I think a very good value out there on stud fees is Congaree at $10,000. His two year olds did well and shows hope and promise at three and for the next crops coming up.

Enjoyed the article very much, thanks, and it is well researched. As a big fan of Malibu Moon, Doneraile Court, Jump Start and Officer, among others, was pleased that they got favourable mentions.

Love them all but am particularly delighted by success of Doneraile Court and long may that continue! Cocoa Beach is brilliant and hoopefully will do even better this season!

Am sure there is value to be found out there and that there is a silver lining to the current recession!

There are precious few stallions that offer value at the published price of their fees. However, the reality is that many of them are available at a 30-50% discount and some of them offer value at those numbers.However, given the state of the market,many of them would not be a value at any price.
