Many researchers of pedigree believe A.P Indy is the most potent sire of sires in the stallion ranks. Next is Gone West. Storm Cat’s pedigree lends itself more to that of a broodmare sire than that a sire of sires. A.P Indy, Storm Cat and Gone West are all out of secretariat mares. I would love to see a son of AP Indy out of a Storm Cat mare bred to Mr. Prospector line mares, especially mares by Gone West. This will result in a 4x5x5 cross to secretariat, genetically just far enough removed in the pedigree to stave off any of the undesirable traits from too close inbreeding. It is the soundness and stamina of Bold Ruler x Princequillo genetics that we are looking for in the background of such a mating. Both Princequillo and Bold Ruler started 33 times. Note that Princequillo was a very good broodmare sire, his daughters produced Secretariat, Mill Reef, Sir Gaylord, and Key to the Mint. To understand better the pedigree lines of Bold Ruler, one should take a look back one generation to his sire, Nasrullah. We should also note the fact that Nearctic, the sire of Nasrullah and Royal Charger, is the key genetic link for the Northern Dancer and Bold Ruler lines. Back to the new mating- The blood of Gone West and Storm Cat brings loads of speed to the mix and should be explosive when linked to sons of A.P Indy. Remember, as breeders we should desire to breed horses that can run, but with sufficient soundness to get around that track more than twice.

In Argentina this week the 4 yo SW Doña Terca (Indygo Shiner/Roy)won her 9th race.

Indygo Shiner is also by AP Indy, so it´s another example of the Ap Indy/(Roy)Fappiano cross.

I am so happy to have found your site. Following certain bloodlines is my hobby since I got a computer.

I am 74 and still have a passion for Man o' War. Could you tell us where his strongest bloodlines are today? Have they weakened drastically since In Reality?

I love any acticles on bloodlines. I particular like the ap indy/deputy minister cross....Deputy minister was a sprinter.....How is the stamina influence injected........mal hutch
