I've seen a lot of people go down the "inbreeding is good" route, where neither inbreeding nor outcrossing for their own sake are a magic bullet.

Alfonso: Interesting that you mention Danehill: Ready's Image (by More Than Ready) is going to shuttle to Australia. More Than Ready has done well with Danehill, and Ready's Image carries Wavering Monarch (grandsire of Monarchos), so the theory is going to be put to the test.

Of course also all the wonderfull daughters of the great Danehill. There in the US, the Dynaformers will also be quite interesting.

One has to be careful not to amplify undesirable traits instead, by careful examination of the individual. This is a very good article but it can be dangerous in the hands of an greenhorn.

Nice post regarding Monarchos related runners.

Could you do more pieces on this years Kentucky Derby contenders? ie What bloodlines are dominating this years Derby besides Unbridleds Song? I noticed two BIRDstone progeny as possible Derby starters.

As in above post you see relationships in bloodlines that I would miss.
