&lt;p&gt;In fact, the first one to do so, was the Canadian mare Mostly Sunny .. who had a son called Sunny&amp;#39;s Halo, that actually won the race in 1983.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This year there is a second mare from this line.. Golden Works, who has a son due to run in the race.. &lt;/p&gt;
