This weekend's group I winners Complacent and Astaire show this pattern at work.

re: Return to the Sire the Best Blood of His Dam

The potential perils of inbreeding are not restricted to unsoundness.

Cal. is bred according to the maxim as well. Her 7 generation pedigree REALLY shows the full power of her linebreeding to Hildene.

Joltman: the Euros aren't afraid of inbreeding to Northern Dancer because they use a lot if Nijinsky and Nureyev, much sounder than our fragile Dixieland Band lines. The Danehill lines seem to be somewhat sound.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the Euros are much more comfortable inbreeding this sort of way than in North America, especially with Northern Dancer, who will appear 3 times or more in four generations, rather frequently.

Good pick up. Alan Porter plans the matings for the Wertheimer brothers so this is one of his.

I think the big spenders at godolphin will buy him before the season ends. I love that match, he is very well bred and he is performing on the track.
