Any thoughts on that cross, I am just getting started with true nicks!

Great Product!

Runaway Groom’s grandson Yonaguska is out of a Mr. Prospector line mare, and when teamed up with more Mr. P on the female side – creating inbreeding to Mr. P - he’s produced a number of good runners, including Musket Man (Mr. Prospector 4x4). A couple of Yonaguska’s recent racing prospects also have inbreeding to Mr. Prospector. His $485,000 Midlantic sales youngster – half brother to this year’s Derby winner - has Mr. Prospector 4x3. An impressive 7 length maiden winner just yesterday at Belmont is by Yonaguska out of a Distorted Humor mare (Mr. Prospector 4x4). Yonaguska/Mr. Prospector gets a True Nicks score of A.

Like Yonaguska, Najran also carries the Runaway Groom/Mr. Prospector cross. While Najran’s daughter Wasted Tears does not have a second Mr. P, she does have Raise A Cup, a horse bred like Mr. P. Mr. Prospector and Raise A Cup appear 5x4 in Wasted Tears.

The Runaway Grooms may enjoy a double dose of Mr. Prospector. But who doesn’t? As reported in Close Encounters (BloodHorse Market Watch; February 2009), there are already 150 graded stakes winners having duplications of Mr. Prospector.

Kelly Leak won the Sunland Derby that so many nice horses have come out of. Too bad he was not triple crown nominated. I expect good things from him down the road.
