Good of you to check into that for me. Also appreciate your remarks. Ampola today, and for years before, tends to occur a good ways back in pedigrees, and what I had observed, for many years, were these "doubles" and the + results. Off the top of my head there is, for example, Confessional. I could have kept a "diary", it's not my way, but I trust my memory that the "sample" was adequate. I'll also say that Ampola wasn't a mare I had reason to direct my focus (unlike a Tom Fool, *La Troienne, or a host of others) which tells me something. I'm also aware that such occurrences, so far back, should exert but very minimal genetic impact. Despite this, I tend to "trust" my observation, and also believe-through observation, and some genetic deduction-that distant influences CAN, AT TIMES, exert meaningful consequence. I was hoping that there might be a "program" to confirm or refute my Ampola observation.

I can find three other stakes winners (Double Green, which was a recommended mating), the minor stakes winner Zakcat (by Vilzak) and grade one winner Taking Risks (Two Punch out of a Green Dancer mare).

I think there is a link between Grey Dawn II, The Axe II and Pia Star, with Mahmoud and those Whitney strains.

Hadn't noticed before, but glad you pointed out Mucho Macho Man's double Grey Dawn II. For years I've seen + results with Ampola linebreeding, and tend to lean toward it in my matings. Was wondering if you have a "tool" (program) for assessing the relative merits of this linebreeding?
