sure more will be heard from him.Australia was running on good to be third and will now be a leading fancy for the Epsom Derby.

Yes it was a good day for Godolphin as their Basem won the

Wood Ditton stakes. This is a race run over 1 mile for unraced 3 year olds.He is a full-brother to Farhh who was

good enough to win the group 1 Champion Stakes last year

after a futile career of chasing Frankel.Basem has now been

given a Derby entry and his win along with Sudden Wonder made up a lot for the disappointing run of Be Ready in the

Craven Stakes but Toormore kept his unbeaten record intacked

and the 2000 Guineas is shaping up as a very interesting

race indeed.

Another interesting New Approach won a 200,000 pounds (about $330,000) sale race at Newmarket today.

He's Sudden Wonder, who is out of a mare by King's Best, a three-quarters relative to Urban Sea, the dam of New Approach's sire, Galileo (both King's Best and Urban Sea are by sons of Mr. Prospector out of the famous mare Allegreta).

It's been quite a while since a colt from this line has stood in the winner's enclosure at Epsom.. perhaps, are we going to finally see another Blenheim or Mahmoud..?

who will run in the important 2000 Guineas trial, the Craven

Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday. He will be meeting the unbeaten Arakan colt,Toormore so we certainly no more about him.The Greenham Stakes run at Newbury last Saturday was above average and was won in fine style by the connections

of Frankel with their very promising Kingman who is now

unbeaten in 3 starts. He is by Invincible Spirit out of Zenda

who also has a 4 year old Dansili colt,Remote who won 3 of

4 last year but has not run since winning a group 3 at Royal

Ascot in June.Kingman is now favourite for the 2000 Guineas

and that race is also the target for Australia whose dam is

that fine racemare Ouija Board. The second horse home in the

Greenham was a son of Dubawi, Night Of Thunder and it looks

like he will take his chance in the French 2000 Guineas.
