The Market for Pollards Visions have not been great. Should I keep her and run her or sell her as a 2yo

Byron's Reply: Dennis, obviously any advice given here would be dependent on your own personal finances. You are right in some respects, this year, despite the efforts of his progeny on the track, the Pollard's Vision yearlings have probably undersold in the marketplace relative to this performance. I like the way the pedigree is put together (Storm Bird and Nijisnky II have combined very well in the past), she has a decent enough family to her and she is an A+ rated filly on TrueNicks.

For mine, what makes you feel that you can't do both? If you got her up and going for a two year old sale next year and didn't get what you wanted you are not that much worse off if you were going to race her anyway as the filly would have undergone all the breaking, education and the like that she is going to need to go on to the track anyway. You never know, if you picked a later 2yo sale to aim her at like say Keeneland or FT Midlantic, Pollard's Vision may look like the next Tapit or Medaglia d'Oro and you would be in a great spot.

A two-year-old of some ability, he really blossomed at three, earning his way into the Kentucky Derby with a good performance in the Louisiana Derby prior to winning the Illinois Derby. Unlike many 3yos who are over the top and unable to reproduce their form later in the year, he went on to win the Leonard Richards and the Lone Star Derby while running with credit in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He was also a Grade 3 winner at four and stayed 10 furlongs well enough to be third in the Grade 1 Suburban Handicap. Given the success of Blind Luck, it's reasonable to assume distance is going to be a virtue and not a hindrance. Would be a tremendous mistake to pigeon-hole this stallion.

He's got three crosses of Northern Dancer, so I would think the sister would be a good addition.
